Sometimes I feel vulnerable, like a naked child. Afraid and exposed at the mercy of the world and its judgement. The truth is, even though I may be exposed, I am always protected, held in the father's arms. If there is anyone I can expose myself to, it is my heavenly father. He knows me better than I know myself, and I can rest in His perfect peace. Psalm 121:5 The Lord watches over you, the Lord is your shade at your right hand. Dear God, Where there is need, Help me to be a provision. And where there is greed, Help me to make a decision. Some say when you hang around with certain people long enough, they rub off on you. It's even in the Bible- Bad company corrupts good character. 1 Corinthians 15:33 As I spend more time with God, I'm picking up on his creativity. I was spending time today talking with my heavenly father and wanted to share part of my prayer. It was unavoidably poetic, as if I was writing a love letter. And I was. Many have suffered through wars. So many are affected. It is with respect that we remember the tragedies of the past and be thankful for the time we have now. I don't like war, and it causes me pain to passively observe the suffering of others as I watch the headlines on the news. The first thing I can do is pray, and ask God to lead me on what else I can do. "Freed by Christ's blood to serve the ever living God. Hebrews 9:14" This sketch represents the freedom that I have in the Lord. Hands lifted high in worship and surrender, seemingly vulnerable, but safe in His protection and under his wing. 2 Corinthians 3:17 (For the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the lord is there is freedom). Walking in obedience to God's commands as an act of love to Him has led to my freedom, peace and a rekindling of the passion I longed to have again with my heavenly father. When you experience the presence of God, it's something you can't forget. I longed to walk with Him everyday. I've shied away from the gifts He's given me because I knew I wasn't being obedient and I wasn't loving Him as much as I should have. My heart wasn't fully His. John 14:15 (If you love me, obey my commandments) John 14:23 (Jesus replied "anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them"). He never took those gifts from me. But I wanted to use them for His kingdom. Colossians 3:23-24 (Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being for the Lord and not for men, because you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as your reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving). I didn't want to do anything half-hearted for the Lord. I wanted to give Him my all. It's been a roller-coaster of a year, and I look forward to sharing what I've learnt and what I'm learning in the hope of encouraging you. Remember, God never leaves us of forsakes us.
