I have an interesting idea for a good game. Imagine Call Of Duty campaign, but you can play as different characters/from different perspectives. And also, you can change your loadout for missions and you are encouraged to pick up and use weapons that were dropped from enemies or just laying around. When you pick up a weapon and kill an enemy with it, you unlock it and all of the attachments on it. Unlocking a weapon means you can use it in your loadouts. Certain attachments can be attached to multiple types of weapons. Some weapons are rarer than others. There are weapons that enemies are less likely to spawn with. Also, not all weapons and cartridges are necessarily based on actual real world weapons. For example, I have in mind a lever action .50BMG rifle that fires relatively quickly, and also, the G11. Yes, the HK G11, a failed weapon because of overheating, malfunctioning and fouling. The concept is really cool, caseless ammunition, sliding barrel, hyper burst. And the farther you go into the campaign, the more unrealistic and ridiculous the weapons become. A sliding barrel machine gun, cooled by “cores”, and when you reload you also change these “cooling cores”. Very little recoil and very accurate. A semi-automatic rifle that fires .50BMG. A shotgun loaded with a clip kind of like an M1 Garand. Handheld M2 Browning. After finishing the campaign on the normal difficulty and above, you unlock more weapons and abilities. The higher the difficulty you finish the campaign on, the better the rewards and ability unlocks. Upon finishing the campaign on hard mode, you unlock a third weapon slot, which means you can carry 3 different weapons instead of only 2. This really gives it a lot of replayability. Finishing the campaign on all difficulties and at least twice per difficulty grants you insane rewards. And so on. And another idea I have, is to not make the campaign completely deterministic, but introduce some randomness and variation, which would make it even more replayable, so no campaign playthrough is ever truly the same. Sometimes some weapons spawn on the ground, sometimes even some armory buildings spawn giving you cover and weapons. Some pretty noticeable variation. Sometimes the phrases the characters say and the things that they do are different.
