Are Pinky and the Brain still trying to take over the world? Because at this point, I'm willing to hear the Brain's platform.
At this point, I'm willing to hear Pinky's platform.
i think they have a crush on each other
Black TVL fans let me know what you think because I'm confused.
I'm seeing a lot of posts of people angry that Claudia used the word "slave." And I'm trying to find out when the word slave became a slur and an insult. Who taught people that the word slave is racist? They're also mad Claudia said Louis' head was nappy. Again, black folk- how many times you heard someone call someone else nappy headed or come for their edges in a rage?
I get that white writers wrote the lines but the thing im lost on is this fact that people seem to believe those words themselves are the problem? If the children are really out here thinking the word slave is an insult then we gotta get them back in school. If it's racist for a black person to call another black person nappy headed when their n the middle of a vicious rant then you need to lock my whole family up. Shit, my whole bloodline.
So im really trying to hear from actual black people right now.
it’s primarily not the black fans with this issue it’s a lot of white people with white saviour complex’s and unfortunately you’re expecting to much common sense from that subset if the fandom cause they don’t even even remember claudia use to call him that back in season one to, they just want a reason to hate the season and “it’s racist” is there go to
"Black TVL fans let me know what you think because I'm confused. "
"So im really trying to hear from actual black people right now."
and then cuntyloustat that isn't black is commenting lol, you can't make this up.
so can you not read lol wasn’t commenting on the black fan i was merely warning of those who aren’t cause i’m not ignorant to the fact there’s a large portion who are white people with a white saviour complex why you getting offended by that unless you yourself fall into that category
i am black, you are not and you weren't invited to this conversation. you have a tendency to intrude yourself in black spaces, your input wasn't needed there and you never once specified in your comment that you weren't black.
can YOU not read, they literally said, "im really trying to hear from actual black people right now." and you aren't.
i'm offended because there's always a non black person thinking their input is needed when they weren't invited. let black people have our spaces and discuss amongst ourselves, we don't need non black people intruding on conversations we want to have amongst ourselves.
@cuntyloustatsblogz @wronglydefiantpandemonium
Trust me when I say that I understand the intention of your comment, what you should challenge yourself to do is accept that it didn't land the way you wanted.
I wanted to know what Black people thought about the language use and the fan reaction. We use this language in our safe spaces and in intimate settings, not around white people. I had a sense that white savior behavior was happening, but that isn't want I was interested in hearing about.
You came to give insight on something I already know, you were specifically not the target audience, and said I was overestimating people as if im the naive person in a conversation about racism in a fandom. <- This is a dynamic being named, not a moral judgement or assessment of your character. Look for the truth in it, remain curious about the cause of your defensiveness and commit to doing this better next time.
Allyship is recognizing its okay for Black people to talk to each other and not hear from you. That is an okay way for things to be!
THIS IS A SONG FOR ALL THE BEAUTIFUL UNWELL
tvl tastes so good when you don't have a bitch in your ear telling you its nasty
I did want to share something about the notion that white writers wrote this lines. TVL employees a dramaturg. Their job is solely to provide context to the writers for historical and cultural concepts depicted in the show. They do research. They speak to experts from depicted cultures. It is almost certain all of the racially charged language has had input from people from the appropriate communities. This is intentional. It would still be great to have more BIPOC writers in the room, but that wouldn't in and of itself change the language use.
I thought the lines were delivered in a very culturally relevant way and that probably wouldn't have happened without some degree of BIPOC influence. Thank you for sharing!
You're not even my maker.

The Vampire Lestat | 3.06 “Montreal” let's be offended with mama
2x08 // 3x06 It was enough that he showed up.
Haven't seen anyone else talking about Mr. Hooting and Hollering complimenting Louis on his choice of argument ammunition. I can't stand these two anymore.
