Fall Back.
Considering the last post I wrote was on August 25th and it was not much more than a quick update and a Spotify playlist, I’ve been slacking a tad. As I spend the next week or two going through photos from the rest of my time in Scotland and maybe finally get to photos from last fall’s adventure through Budapest, Prague, Amsterdam, Vienna, Berlin & the last bit of London, I will have more content…

The Latest Playlist – August 25
Well last week was a bit cray so I missed a week, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been adding new music to the playlist (in reality I’ve actually added A LOT). I’m nearing the end of this bout of travels with mixed emotions, but there is potential for a ‘next year.’ (more…)

5 Things Friday – August 14th
I keep forgetting that the UK is an island and as such has some of the weirdest weather.. Much like last year while I was in London, there is often a forecast of rain which then becomes a few small downpours while it’s sunny the rest of the day.. basically you can’t plan a day around weather because it is practically pointless. This week was a bit more rain that past weeks, but still mostly sunny…

Rosslyn & Roslin
Having lived in a city or variation of a city my entire life, I have never been the most ‘outdoorsy’ person. Sure, I love being up in the mountains or going for a walk in the park, but I also like my warm showers and ‘city things.’ I fell in love with the Highlands last time I was in Scotland and when we were planning some group excursions for the trip, Roslin and the Rosslyn Chapel was put on…

I’ve gotten to the point where days are blending together and I have to rely on my calendar to tell me what day it is and where I need to be. Regardless, the first full week in Edinburgh has been quite the whirlwind and considering it’s almost the 15th of August as I’m writing this and looking back, my time here is just about half way over. I still have yet to make my trek up Arthurs Seat, but it will happen one of these days and until then I’ll keep on making trips to my new gym aka the University of Edinburgh Centre for Sport & Exercise.. 10 gyms in one.. I get lost occasionally…

As I’m sitting outside listening to this very playlist while getting some work done before the day kicks off and things go mad again, I’ve found this particular mix to be quite peaceful and perfect for sitting in the sunshine on a slightly chilly day (we have fall weather at the moment). I added a lot recently so the 5 songs I’m spotlighting are only a select few (more…)

Last time I only spent about 2 days in Edinburgh and didn’t explore much, but what I did see what beautiful and I had really wanted to come back and explore more. The past week adventuring around the city and starting to work with our show for the Fringe has been amazing and the start to such a fun new adventure. It feels like forever ago that I was in London and Brighton when really it has only…

Glasgow Nights
I had intended to explore Glasgow a bit in one of the two trips I had planned into the city for a show, but thanks to rain and needed to get things done in Edinburgh I in and out both times, not seeing much other than the walk from the train station to the venue. Regardless, it seemed like a fun city and one I’d love to explore with a bit more time on my hands. Jack Garratt | King Tuts The first…

Walking around a city with music is one of my favorite ways to explore.. It creates a cool soundtrack that usually compliments the environment and general noise around me. While in our flat, we keep BBC Radio 1 on off the TV almost all the time and naturally that means I keep finding new music. (more…)

Look Back & Laugh
Look Back & Laugh
We all have those moments now and then that at the time seem like the worst possible situation. You get caught in the rain with paper grocery bags and no taxis in sight (freshman year this happened) or the airline miss tags your luggage and it goes to Frankfurt & they can’t trace it, so when they finally call to say that it has been located breathe a sigh of relief. reunited and it feels so…

Train
I initially wasn’t going to post much about my journey from Brighton up to Edinburgh, but then the weather was brilliant and it was so beautiful just to sit on the train for nearly 7 hours and watch the countryside pass by.. option c obviously.. superfood salad side note: I captured photos by taking videos on my phone and then a screen cap of the video… they honestly don’t do the trip justice.. –…

5 Things Friday – July 31st
What a week it has been. I had a suitcase that went to Germany, got to shop in London, got a bit of a head cold and subsequently got almost all the way better from that head cold. Explored and reminisced about my favorite places in London, visited Brighton and saw a friend and now I’ve moved into my flat in Edinburgh for the month! In all that’s happened, it’s been nice to catch up with friends…

Beachin’
While it probably would have made the most sense to start in the south and work my way up, I decided to spend a night in Brighton between my time in London and heading up north to Edinburgh. Only about an hour and a half by train or two by bus, it’s was a simple journey on Tuesday morning following my Barry’s class to catch the tube into Victoria Coach station and grab a bus down south. London Foodie
London has amazing food and honestly I only scratched the surface this time around thanks to a limited amount of time and a slightly stricter budget (although since I didn’t have to pay for the clothes that I had intended to buy thanks to needing them as replacement for the luggage that went MIA I had an extra bit to spend). Here’s a quick recap by day ~ (more…)
