tagging/content warning systems for media are often mocked outside of fanfic which is kind of too bad because i do think it'd be a really interesting vector of literary analysis to examine what the author or publisher thinks they should be informing their audience about vs. the actual content of the media in question

it’s steep competition but i think chapter 5 really cemented ralsei as my favorite character, not even just for the transgender stuff but also all their recent character development. i love how their arc is basically the inverse of susie’s, where instead of learning the Power of Friendship they’re learning the Power of Being A Hater and Not Repressing Every Emotion That Isn’t Selfless People-Pleasing Positivity. you have no idea how happy it makes me to see this doormat of a character actually get angry and go “this guy fucking SUCKS i HATE his stupid ass!!!” AND they’re transgender. literally the greatest of all time

Something I forgot about until just now, the way Susie talks to Kris in the end of ch5 when you "walk her home" kind of can be read as Susie being vague bc she's embarrassed or that Kris has done this before and already knew. If you take her to the apartments, she says something like, "Kris, you know that's not what I meant." When you finish, she just thanks Kris and leaves without acknowledgement. If you decline and Kris puts you in balloon jail, they walk side by side straight to the school, like Kris knows exactly the path to take.

It's very sweet to me that they've probably been hanging out off screen without us and even have connections that we are not privy to. It's not something WE get to have as us, the player, Kris, and Susie. That was just for Kris and Susie. I may be wrong but I think the only other major thing that Kris gets to have without us interfering is their piano playing (you may include whatever is happening with the Knight here but while we are in the dark about it, we are still directly oppositional so I don't really count it myself). So I guess if we needed more evidence that Kris and Susie don't need us to be friends, that's there.

i am 100% convinced that mobile phone/ social media bans for under 16s are an attempt to remove kids and teens from public life. this is not protecting kids this is locking them in houses with no escape from their abusers. the world is so hostile to teenagers rn

banning social media for teens under 16 means that I am forced to be alone for as long as my parents want me to. I have no escape and would probably dissociate my entire teenage years and have to unpack that as an adult if I’m still alive.
