Aroace culture is being extremely annoyed every time you see someone imply that a romantic/sexual relationship is somehow better or more important than any other kind of relationship (which happens basically all the time once you start paying attention to it)
Absolutely. It annoys me to no end especially considering how shipping culture permeates fandom spaces and how some (not all) people believe that a character dynamic being interpreted as romantic/sexual holds more value than a platonic interaction. On a more positive note, I see people moving away from that in some fandoms so who knows?

I resonate with this a lot- while intimacy is important it's also important to recognise that sex isn't the only way of being intimate - but I think from an unbiased point of view it sounds like they're hyping up romance a lot more than it is in reality. I get this though !

in terms of asexuality:
(very broadly speaking) Sex averse means a general dislike for sex and the idea of it
(very broadly speaking) Sex repulsed means a strong disgust for the idea and typically means the person will go to great pains to avoid having sex as they find it distressing or uncomfortable
So
A word in between them is quite difficult because they are so similar and while I'd discourage people from delving too far into labels (as sexuality is such a wide spectrum) a couple of words or ideas around that could be
sex avoidant (leaning more towards averse)
sexually withdrawn (neutral in feeling but still not wishing to participate)
but I don't think I can find a word that's right in between the two.. Any help here guys?

Unfortunately I can't find any aro/acespec characters other than Lilith from The Owl House and that guy from Hazbin Hotel that might be gay anyways so I don't have that big of a pool to draw from. Lilith is cool but I'm also a big fan of aroace ocs because they have love, depth and good representation of what it's like to be aroace!

I’m aroace and on Valentine’s Day I went and got an iced tea and some groceries and then went back home and played Minecraft.

I started considering the idea of being aroace because a couple years ago I saw a YouTube thumbnail (never actually watched the video) of Saiki Kusuo from hit manga and anime Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan with a green pride flag and a purple pride flag behind him. The title went along the lines of "Saiki being aro/ace for X minutes 'straight'". I started reading the manga last December and am now on volume 21 out of 26, and yeah, Saiki is aroace and no one can convince me otherwise :-D
Also, side tangent: I was in school when I saw that thumbnail and I didn't know what it meant so I went to the cool, young, science teacher to ask what aroace meant because I thought he'd be chill and he just went "Oh, you don't have to think about that until you're older" because what else do you say to a student who just asked you a question pertaining to sex and romance?? Anyways, Mr. G if you're reading this I'm older now and I'm thinking about this every day :-))
I think this is why representation is so important in media because it helps people identify with and connect more with the community!
