Little teaser image of a fan character I made. I’ve been playing a LOT of Left 4 Dead 2 recently and I had been working on this art for a few months. So I was inspired to work on it some more, polish it up.

I don’t know her name yet, but her backstory is she’s a stage actress just on the cusp of becoming a big star. On the opening night of The Twelfth Night, the leading lady is taken ill and her understudy (this chick right here) steps in. Of course, all good things must pass and on the second night, playing to a packed house, the infection strikes. Barely escaping the mobs of zombies, she flees and heads to the outskirts of downtown Los Angeles where she eventually meets other survivors.

DANG it’s been a long time. I’ve been busy with freelance stuff, but I got a copy of SAI. Played around with the watercolor tools in particular, I love the look! I needed something to practice on, so I colored my little design of Mega Tropius. Not too shabby for a first-time user!

Lol I got accepted to be a beta tester for Pokemon GO, this should be interesting.

Just some speculation about Litten’s evolutionary line. I figured at first Nintendo would use the iriomote cat as inspiration, since it’s a native to Japan and lives exclusively on the island of Iriomote. But then I stumbled across this image, depicting a gotokoneko (gotoko meaning “trivet” [one of those iron tripods over an open flame like on a stove], neko meaning “cat”). I also found this helpful website telling me what it was!

“A type of nekomata, the gotokoneko has the split-tail and advanced age of all its kind. But the difference from average nekomata is the gotokoneko’s love of fire. Most animals—magical or otherwise—are naturally terrified of fire. They enjoy the warmth, but fear the flames. The gotokoneko is not only not afraid of fire, but is often found stoking up the fire in a cold hearth, using a hifuki-dake, a bamboo blowing tube, to coax flames from the coals.The gotokoneko is not the only cat-yokai associated with fire—the kasha is a flame-wrapped cat demon who drags corpses to hell. Kasha and some bakeneko are said to be able to transform into hi-no-tama fireballs. Even the eyes of ordinary cats are said to be able to capture fire within them, sparkling in the dark. But of all the various cat demons and magical cats only the gotokoneko will actually sit down at a hearth and busy itself with the process of making a fire.”

Given that Litten right now is just Fire-type, but has the black markings that we associate with Dark-type Pokes, it could evolve into a Fire-Dark type, or, if my speculation is correct, Fire-Ghost. At the very least, I hope they referenced the iriomote cat, ‘cause it’d be a great way to bring attention to such a lovely creature.

ANYWAY I need to draw more.

We Didn’t Start the Fire - 50 Years of Fandom

IMPORTANT NOTE: I am neither Fiercynn nor Scribe - hence the link. I just felt it was entirely, entirely, completely necessary to share this with everyone, because this is one of the most amazing things that I have ever seen in my life. I just - fuck. I’m in tears as I type this, because this vid? Is not about a bunch of fandoms, it’s about what fandom is, it’s about a tradition that goes back a long, long time of people looking at stories and saying “here’s what I have to say about that,” and other people listening. Towards the end it gets into fandoms I know, fandoms I’m in or have been in, and that’s when I started crying, because - this is going to sound so ridiculous, but I can’t help it, because that was when I realized that I was part of it, this old often-problematic beautiful revolutionary thing. And then, the last few minutes, it gives us characters who tell stories in the stories (Becky Rosen!), it saysyes, you, this is your story too. It’s two-thirty in the morning, I’m crying, and I may not be coherent but I have absolutely no regrets. Watch this.

Was babbling with a friend about Star Wars, then remembered I had this sketch lying around of my stupid OC, Roku, fighting Kylo Ren in the snow (I basically sat through TFA interjecting this character into all the scenes lol). Then I colored it quickly ‘cause I do eventually want to make this into a cool piece. So now its a color study! :D

Just realized I never uploaded this! I think this is like a year old, anyway, but I still like it. I’m a sucker for exotic-looking beauties.

And a special “welcome” to my new followers! :D I’m sure you’re all impressed by my psychic powers about Bernie Sanders and birds. I can only hope you’ll be more impressed by my art.

Was watching the CNN predictions with some friends a week ago and I realized that “Wolf Blitzer” totally sounds like an MGS boss’s name. I must design him a skull suit!
