This meme is a MURDER ATTEMPT.
I am absolutely fucking serious. The original meme, without the big red denial, is someone's attempt to fucking kill people.
There is NO SAFE DOSAGE of pennyroyal oil. Even Mother Earth News says there's no reason to use pennyroyal essential oil for ANYTHING, even topically or as a fragrance, for fuckssake! That should give you some idea about how dangerous it is!
Pennyroyal tea, plant matter in hot water, is a traditional abortifacient. It is *incredibly* dangerous, induces abortion by bringing the body close to organ failure (and frequently pushing the system right over the edge, because dosage is impossible to meter), but I would drink a gallon of it before I took a half-teaspoon of pennyroyal essential oil.
Two teaspoons, taken across 48 hours, has successfully killed someone.
Three teaspoons taken as a single dosage killed the consumer within THREE HOURS.
There is NO SAFE DOSAGE! FOR PENNYROYAL OIL INTERNALLY! NONE!
The person who made this meme is PURPOSEFULLY, ACTIVELY, trying to get desperate people killed!
Pennyroyal oil contains pulegone, which is highly toxic, particularly to the liver. Ingestion can lead initially to gastrointestinal distress such as nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Later on, it can lead to failure of the liver and kidneys, resulting in bleeding, seizures, multiple organ failure, and death.
There is no antidote for pennyroyal oil poisoning.

the first post ever on tumblr
I WAS EXPECTING IT TO BE A REMAKE OF SOME SORT HOLY FUCK
WHO THE FUCK KEEPS BRINGING THIS BACK
World Heritage Post
like actually though. iām in AWE of the notecount.
reblog to give your friend a bad day
this is the monalisa of tumblr
āAnd to your right youāll see the colour of the sky post, and tumblrinas desperately trying to scroll down to itās end.ā
this is it, this post started it all
NOW THAT TUMBLR HAS ANNOUNCED TO SHORTEN LONG POSTS, REBLOG TO TORMENT YOUR FOLLOWERS ONE LAST TIME
do yāall remember before direct messages tumblr had a dumbass ask limit of 10 per hour and communication was impossible until they introduced dumbass fan mail and we were basically sending telegraphs back in forth trying to communicate those wereā¦dark times
Do y'all remember when they finally gave us direct messages and instead of doing it normally, they gave it to a few people at a time and we had to infect each other with it like a virus
remember when any post with more than like 6 people talking was unreadably smushed except for the last few additions remember when any post of over 500 characters became a link back to opās blog readmore style remember when video and audio posts had about a 10% chance of working when you click play
As a recent user I love finding out shit like this from older users. What the fuck guys???? Why were you USING IT AT ALL?!??
believe it or not, we liked that more
Tumblr allowed pseudonymous accounts and porn.
Thatās why we used it.
I donāt think people who arrived after the porn ban understand, but tumblr was BUILT on porn, it was advertised as a porn-friendly social space. It was famous for its porn.
It was a place to go and be among other adults and enjoy both sexual content and just vibing.
The pseudonymous accounts contributed to (comparatively) more pro-social behaviour.
So it attracted people who liked to be open about their sexuality, including but not limited to queers, feminists, trauma survivors, anyone routinely desexualized by society such as the disabled and people of colour.
It attracted artists who wanted to be able to express themselves freely without worrying about arbitrary content bans (photographers especially; the tits out in a natural setting scene was a HUGE thing on tumblr).
The low skill barrier to posting video made it attractive to indie and homebrew pornographers, yes. Arguably, it was for them. But it was also popular for musicians, especially novices looking for a way to get feedback from a robust but not necessarily hyper critical art scene. For performers of all styles who wanted to sing, dance, or compose about messy, graphic, emotionally intense shit and not worry about being taken down.
The relatively low barrier to making written content made it appealing not just to essayists, comedians and short fiction writers of every niche and style, but to people just wanting to chat about whatever the fuck was going on, whether that was the rollout of cellular data service to their podunk rural nowhere, or the frenemy drama at the glamour-shoot they just did of a coked out urban sex party.
The low barrier to sharing content allowed all those groups to see each other in a way they wouldnāt normally: as vibrant and robustly human. The low barrier to commenting allowed us to interact with each other as peers in a way that fundamentally did not exist (not with that scale, not with that ease) elsewhere.
And all of that, all of is was the direct result of tumblrās commitment to allowing porn.
Tumblr was a safe space to be sexual, and as a consequence, it grew into a safe space to be fuckin weird.
Weird people make the best art. We have the best conversations. We develop the best intersectional hypotheses.
But it was the porn that built the ~tumblr aesthetic~ we still enjoy today.
And when that ban came around, it was a lot of creeping horror. Because all of a sudden, the entire foundation of the (comparatively!!!) chill, artsy, nerdy, sociopolitically hyperconscious space was torn out from under us, and we were supposed to just like⦠accept that? As normal?
The weird thing is, apparently, we did. We just accepted that as normal. In fact, many people celebrated it as a good thing. Now people talk about the ānew tumblrā as a place that is āreturning to nature.ā
Every one of the tedious hiccups and user-unfriendly corporate decisions made was put up with because of porn and the fascinatingly complex social spaces it created.
The fact that this can so easily be forgotten is, honestly, just depressing. I know that western culture has backslid into some truly profound anti-sexual nonsense as part and parcel of the anti-science and pro-fascism culture, but goddamn. Itās just so weird to see this blank space in peopleās memories forming in real time about something that relatively many of us were definitely present for and still benefiting from.
Whatās also interesting- and more than a little horrifying- about this development is the rise of anti-sex rhetoric on this site; seemingly in the wake of, and very likely because of, the porn ban.
It isnāt just young users & users with christian, conservative, and radfem backgrounds who are cultivating anti-sex subculture; itās often users who are new to this site, who never interacted with the āweirdā porn-based social circles, or who are taking advantage of how the tumblr community at large is moving away from that history- both naturally, and in a very intentional way.
The conversations about how Some Ships Make You Bad and Some Kinks Make You Evil have been happening for as long as thereās been reason to have them, sure- but theyāre also taking hold more strongly now, with less backlash, because the people, community, and culture that was built around ideas running intrinsically counter to them have been driven (and are still being driven) from the site.
What makes this especially insidious is that Tumblr has cultivated a huge community of queer people, largely because of that foundation around porn. And because the website as a whole is now shifting in this new anti-sex direction, itās resulting in more and more queer people adopting anti-sex attitudes and promoting anti-sex rhetoric.
And anti-sex rhetoric will always translate to queerphobic rhetoric, because the ideas inherent to it (some sex is wrong and bad even if itās consensual, Think Of The Children, we have a right to police consensual sex between strangers, thoughtcrime is real) are synonymous with ideas inherent to queerphobia, and almost always weaponized against queer people.
Which means that this is a rare example of a huge queer community existing (even flourishing!) in a space that, suddenly, is becoming more actively queerphobic- and rather than all the queer people recognizing danger and leaving, they are often being persuaded to promote queerphobia themselves.

Your honor! Please direct your attention towards the manga.
As you can see there are small pieces of paper sticking out of every volume.
But no such paper is sticking out of the Batman comic.
The reason? The Batman book doesnāt belong to the library. The photographer put it there to take a picture.
Once again making hasty assumptions, Wright?
First of all, Iād like to direct the courtās attention to this particular spot, in the top right-hand corner.
Notice how the words are blocking the top of the Batman book.
With this in mind, how can you claim that there isĀ āno such paper sticking out of the Batman comicā?!
Say whaaaat?
Well uhm
Look at the size of the paper pieces, theyāre all sticking pretty far out.
If there was paper in the batman comic, it would be big enough to stick up over the text.
And while gravity does exist, it probably wonāt make the paper do a 90 degree turn and just lean horisontally left at the middle.
Still grasping for straws, Wright?
Hypothetically, if there were a paper there, this picture would not be able to prove its presence. Iāve taken the liberty of drawing a diagram to illustrate my point. We are faced with three possibilities. It is possible that (1) the paper was simply tucked in deeper than the others.
Paper is a soft material, Wright. Itās not unreasonable for it to do a (2)Ā 90 degree turn.Ā
Or perhaps,Ā (3) a paper does not exist there at all.Ā
Either way, you cannot prove your client innocent without sufficient evidence. Ā
Which, of course, is impossible thanks to the obtrusive words.
Iām sorry Edgeworth.
I concede that I canāt disprove theory 1
But the image you submited for theory 2 is contradictory.
Look at the tilt of the other papers. They clearly prove how much the paper would tilt.
And theory 3 is my point! Why would the libraryās book not have this piece of paper when the other library books do?
While you still have thory 1, there is another contradiction.
The books are not in alphabetical order, this proves that the batman comic was placed there specifically for the picture!
Ack.
(Perhaps I shouldāve left the artistry to the forensic artistā¦)
Now hold it right there! It doesnāt matter which direction the paper is going because itās impossible to prove it even exists!
Those theories are all the same! We do not have enough information to prove them. There could be an infinite amount of papers in there for all we know. I simply presented them only so that the court could better understand your baseless conjecture!
⦠I suppose the order of the books do seem out of the ordinary. However, therein lies not just one possibility. Clearly, those are Japanese graphic novels, also known asĀ āmangaā. And the Batman comic book is a graphic novel, too, no?
Seeing as it currently has only graphic novels in the shelf, it is possible that any other novels have simply not yet been restocked. Asserting whether or not this effect was deliberate is uselessā there is no way of knowing if the photographer and the captioner are the same person, let alone their involvement in this picture.
Face it Wright, you canāt prove any of these groundless accusations!
Did everyone just ignore the library sticker?

The spirit of Diogenes is alive and well
This is funny, obviously, but even if you don't go to the extreme of the example above, this is a separate seat for one person, with a back and 4 legs:
But it's not a chair. It's a bar stool.
This, however, are all chairs:
Each one is missing at least one component of the chair definition above.
So like... it's almost like strict definitions are exclusionary.
Reblog to hit a transphobe with a separate seat for one person
you know how some parents do that toxic thing where they donāt notice or reward kids for improving their behavior, but every screw-up gets remarked upon and used to inflict shame? so youāre stuck in that awful cycle where there are no rewards, only the inevitability of eventual punishment?
and how that makes it extremely hard to judge your own actions or grow into a better person, because thereās no one to confirm that you actually are doing better, and are capable of improving, and are not doomed to forever be a terrible person incapable of growth?
ok so: I donāt know how to explain to you that weāve built a social media culture that treats people the same way. with the same abusive cycle.
That sounds like cancel culture
I donāt know what to call it anymore. people get heated about terms like āpurityā or ācancelā or ācall outā culture, or canāt seem to agree on a meaning. Iām not talking about like. no longer supporting rich and powerful celebrities when their abusive actions come to light. Iām not talking about holding people accountable, or warning people about active abusers. but I am seriously concerned about how we treat social media users once they get even a small amount of attention, even in small niche spaces.
I am concerned about this culture of combing through years of peopleās social media accounts, looking for āproblematicā shit theyāve done. I am concerned with the whole culture of using ācall outsā as a tool to harass and ostracize users large and small. I am concerned about the malice we spread behind peopleās backs, in screenshots and posts they arenāt able to see. I am concerned with this culture of demanding apologies for things said years ago, things already outgrown and regretted, and of ignoring those apologies even while pilling on more censure. Iām concerned about this whole culture of accusation and misinformation, where the most outrageous claims and holier-than-thou performances are rewarded with notes and views, even as facts are ignored and context removed. I am concerned about the lack of accountability, the way the accused is given no opportunity to defend themselves from the onslaught, the way their responses and explanations go ignored, the way any charge can be made at any time on any evidence, with no ability to appeal or exonerate. Iām concerned about the way this culture targets minority users and turns their own communities against them. Iām concerned about the actually harmful and predatory behavior that is lost in the bog, and how we have lost the ability to distinguish between shades of gray with any level of sanity. And I am concerned by the sheer number of people who fail to realize they are perpetuating bullying and harassment.
I am enormously concerned with the way people who are ācalled outā are never forgiven, never allowed to make amends, never allowed to grow, how their efforts to learn and do better are ignored even while strangers callously repeat and reblog and retweet the same criticisms ad nauseam.
And I see this everywhere, happening to anyone. And yes, this applies to larger accounts and youtubers and āinfluencers,ā and a bunch of content creators who may or may not be making a decent living off of their work, but who are certainly not ārich and powerful celebrities.ā (Because apparently we spend so much time in online microcosms that yaāll canāt tell the difference???) Christ, my blog isnāt nearly as large as some people seem to think, itās obscure by most measures, and still Iāve been the target of mass harassment for years. Iāve seen bad and watched others go through worse, seen users with far larger and far smaller followings driven off of this and other platformsādriven off with a violence and bloodthirst that had nothing to do with making a community safer and everything to do with a toxic culture gone wrong. Fucking fix this already.
Abuse is still abuse when it happens online, when done by strangers, when done en masse. Now do BETTER.
I hate that people keep insisting that Kristen Stewart is a lesbian even though she's flat out said she's bisexual, that she sees sexuality as grey and fluid, that she's not strictly homosexual or heterosexual, and that she would definitely date a guy again; like the list goes on. I think it's the fact that she's also so visibly gnc and people still can't concieve that bisexuality isn't just gay lite? Like as much as she may "look" like a lesbian, she's a gnc bi woman and I think it's cool that there's that kind of rep bc a lot of the bi women the media puts in the spot light are mostly high fem. That doesn't mean that rep is meaningless but I can count on one hand the amount of andro/masc leaning bi women that are in the public eye.
I also know the other reason why a lot of people keep labeling her as a lesbian is because she's visibly only been dating women recently, but you don't have to switch the gender of your s/o every other month to prove you're still bi like. That's elementary basics of bisexuality. Especially if said person in question, again, has stated several times that they're not a lesbian or straight... š¤
Itās almost like thereās a history (Freddie Mercury) of people (David Bowie) ignoring when people (Megan Fox) say theyāre bisexual (Katharine Hepburn), and talking about them (Chuck Tingle) as if theyāre definitely gay (Cynthia Nixon) or definitely (Lady Gaga) straight.
Oh look, itās campus-police officer Lt. John Pike who pepper-sprayed peaceful protesters at University of California Davis.
And UCD reportedly payed $175,000 for this image to not appear when you search it on google:
Darn shame if this circulatedā¦
So you mean to tell me that just by reblogging this Iām ruining an organizations plan, wasting them money, and uncovering some shitbag humans awful behaviour?

I figure out I had ADHD last year, but I didnāt seek an official diagnosis and medication until this year. Iām 30 years old, my school days are long behind me. I slipped through the cracks because I have predominately inattentive type and I was a quiet little girl. Having ADHD does not mean you have to be hyperactive and loud, it means you have a processing problem in your brain that doesnāt allow you to regulate your focus or emotions.Ā
Mental health even now is still taboo to talk about. People are more open now than ever about it however and that gives me hope.Ā
This is a profoundly personal comic and it only reflects my own experience with ADHD. It is on a spectrum with a wide range of personalities. But if my story connects with someone else and helps them, that would mean the world to me.

LGBT activists have been vocal about intersex issues for several decades, because establishing the legal right to bodily autonomy for intersex persons is basically inseparable from establishing the right of trans persons to that same legal autonomy over their own bodies. many intersex persons prefer not to be grouped together with LGBT causes; however, the vast majority of LGBT activists would agree that performing "corrective" surgery on intersex infants - to force them to adhere to a largely fictional gender binary - is pretty fucking evil.
