02: We Only See Each Other at Weddings and Funerals
Summary: (Y/n) Hargreeves has 7 adoptive siblings, all of which were born on the same day, of the same year, at the same hour. This phenomenon, somehow caused them all to get special powers. (Y/n) loved her siblings with all her heart, but there was one she just couldn’t stand, one that always seemed to get under her skin, and that was Five Hargreeves. The years flew by, with one sibling dead and another missing, the 6 that remained all went their separate ways. That is until the death of their father, Reginald Hargreeves. Now 29 years old, with all their own lives. The 6 remaining Hargreeves were brought back together for their fathers funeral, only for their missing brother to reappear out of no where, in his 16 year old body, saying that the world was going to end in 10 days. But it’s gonna take a lot more convincing for this dysfunctional family to even THINK about saving the world.

My (e/c) eyes narrowed at the Hispanic boy in front of me. Standing in a fighting stance across from each other "¿Listo para que te patee el culo?" (Ready to get your ass kicked?) Number Two spat out, a small smirk gracing his lips as he took out his knives from his holsters. Bringing them up, he flipped them around a few times before holding them defensively out in front of him. A small huff of amusement left my lips.
"Ven a mí chico cuchillo." (Come at me knife boy)
Diego was quick to run at me full speed, sending a punch to my face. I was quick to lean my head to the left side, dodging the punch, he stepped forward following my movements as he threw another punch towards the other side of my face. I, once again leaned my head to the opposite side, dodging his punch. Moving back with me, he threw one last punch only for me to catch his right fist in my left hand, gritting his teeth in concentration he once again threw a punch with his left fist, but my right hand was quick to catch that as well.
Diego's eyes went wide as he realized I wasn't letting go "Shit." He stated, a smirk crossing my lips. Bringing my right foot up I kicked him in the chest, sending him stumbling back, I stalked towards him sending a roundhouse kick to his face before he was able to catch his balance. The force from the kick caused the boy to fall face first on ground. Casually walking over to immobile boy I went to bring my foot down onto his back, only for him to quickly roll out from under me. "You slippery snake." Diego huffed, letting out a small grunt as he used his hands to throw himself back on his feet.
The Hispanic boy got back into a fighting stance, rubbing away the small amount of blood on his lip. A smile graced his features, shrugging his shoulders he responded "Just wait till this snake finally beats you." I let out a small air like chuckle, an amused smile crossing my lips. "You just don't give up do you?" Two shook his head eyes shining in determination "Never." Charging at me once again I let out a small giggle, quickly grabbing onto the hand he threw a punch with, bringing his arm around his back in a lock.
Diego's opposite arm went limp at his side, I quickly grabbed it before he came to the realization and tried to counter me with it. Pulling the arm towards me, I kicked his back back sending him down on the ground. Grunts and groans in aggravation left his lips "I told you, you'll never beat me." The dark haired boy bellow me didn't bother responding, as he desperately pulled and moved to get out of my hold.
"Well done Number Eight."
Reginald's voice could be heard, causing me to let go of Diego "Number Two, she took you down in a matter of minutes." He huffed as he stood up and fixed his uniform, his eyes fixating on the man who called himself our father "But-" Reginald cut him off "No buts, you should never have let that happen! Go sit down!" Diego stared at him for a second or so, hands turning to fists at his sides. He let a small huff of aggravation escape his lips before turning towards the others, finding an open spot next to Ben, he angrily sat down on the floor.
My eyes shifted back over to Reginald, only for his cold stare to already be on someone else "Number Five, face Number Eight" I was about to look over at my siblings only for a blue flash to appear in front of me, the fluttering noise of Five's spacial jumps accompanying it. Said boy appeared in front of me, an arrogant smirk sitting on his face. "Since you two seem to work so well together, let's see how you do against one another." An amused grin graced my lips, all while cracking my knuckles, I got into a ready stance.
"This is going to be easy."
Five scoffed "Funny." The dark haired boy got into a ready stance of his own "I was just thinking the same thing." My eyes narrowed angrily at the arrogant boy in front of me, running at him with the first attack. Punches, and kicks were thrown at each other, all while dodging and blocking our opponents attacks. It felt like an endless match, a fight to determine who was the best, until finally...
Five's head shot towards the right of him as my right fist came in contact with his left cheek. He stumbled back a small bit before catching himself on his feet, rubbing his cheek, his head turned back towards me. Eyes shining with an emotion I couldn't quite place, bringing his hand back down into a fist that's held up in front of him, a smirk graced his lips.
I mirrored his look, feeling pride flow through me, just from being able to land the first punch. "I was just thinking the same thing." Stealing Five's line from earlier, the dark brown haired boy lightly shook his head before diving back into the fight. Both parties more determined than ever to win, as some hits were now landing on the other, the rest we were able to dodge or block.
It went on like this for awhile, Five trying to overpower me, as I tried to over power him, but I finally found an opening. Grabbing his arm I was quick to bring it around behind him, like I did with Diego a few moments ago. Five grit his teeth in aggravation as he tried to get out of my hold "Guess I win." I huffed, my breathing labored from all the fighting. A flash of blue shined in front of me followed by the fluttering noise that accompanied Five's spacial jumps.
The space in front of me was now empty, my hands currently holding onto nothing. Hearing the fluttering noise behind me, I barely had time to react. "Not quiet." Five's smart ass voice could be heard behind me, as a foot came in contact with my back, sending me forward towards the ground. "That's not fair!" I heard Allison's voice speak up from the sidelines "He can't use his powers, it's against the rules!" The two of us ignored her, ears picking up the sound of Five getting closer to me.
"There are no rules in the real world. You must do whatever it takes to get out alive."
Reginald's voice resonated throughout the room, in response to Number Three's claim. Five stopped next to me, bringing his foot up above the back of my head. My (e/c) eyes widened, quickly blending into my surroundings I rolled to the right just as his foot was brought down to hit me. Five grunted as his foot came in contact with the floor rather than my head. "Shit." He grumbled out as I stood up, waiting to see his next move. Five's fists were clenched at his sides an annoyed look on his face. Eyes darting all around him, trying desperately to see me somewhere in the room.
"Come on you damn chameleon."
I narrowed my eyes at this statement, making quick strides over to him in anger. "Fight you cow-" my right fist came in contact with his left cheek, successfully cutting the smart ass off. I was quick to kick him in the chest before he could counter, sending him stumbling back.
Quickly catching himself on his feet, he blindly swung a punch only for me to dodge and counter with a punch to his stomach. A groan escaped Five's lips, leaning over a little, he wrapped his arms around his stomach in pain. The dark haired boy started to straighten up only for me to roundhouse kick him in the face. Five faced away from me as he fell to the ground, a triumphant smirk crossed my lips.
I quickly brought my foot up to finish him off "Okay, Enough." Five growled out before spacial jumping away, all while I brought my foot down, only to hit the ground rather than the 12 year old boy. My eyes scanned around me, trying to find Five, turning around I noticed him a good distance away at the other side of the room. I watched as he stood there, small huffs in exhaustion passing his lips, green eyes slowly scanning the room.
Taking this as my chance I ran at him, a determined look on my face, certain that this last hit would finally take him down. I grew closer and closer to Five, but he stayed in the same spot, not moving an inch. I was only a few feet away when I noticed a smirk tugging at his lips, eyes shining in amusement, as if to tell me that he's already won. Bringing my fist up, Five's next words threw me off guard "Found you." My eyes widened in slight shock, everything seeming to happen in slow motion.
The dark haired boy grabbed my outstretched arm, throwing me effortlessly over his shoulder, a grunt left my lips as my back came in contact with the ground. My powers were quick to deactivate from the impact. Five held my arm, all while pacing a foot on my throat, a victorious look sitting on his face, sending him a glare I tried to take his foot off my throat but he refused to let me go.
Five's eyes never wavered from staring down my own "Looks like I won." I let out an angry huff using my free hand to try and pry his foot off of me. "Number Eight, I expected more from you." I grit my teeth in anger as I stared down the boy above me. "That is all for training today." Was the last thing Reginald said before making his way out of the room. Our siblings were quick to stand as Five took his foot off of my throat. "Eat shit and die." I grumbled to the dark haired boy as I laid there catching my breath. Our 6 siblings started making their way out the door only for Number Four to call my name "Eight! You coming?" I nodded my head in response.
Klaus shrugged and continued out the door, Five rolled his eyes in annoyance, sticking out his hand for me to grab. "Come on idiot." I glared up at the boy in front of me, sitting up I looked at his hand, taking it in my own. Before he got a chance to pull me up, I dragged him down, his face changing to a look of surprise, kicking on his stomach so that he could flip over me. Letting out a grunt as he landed behind me on his back, I laid back down, our heads sitting next to each other.
I huffed out, still trying to catch my breath after all the fighting. "Everyone does sunshine." Five's unsteady voice spoke in response, the wind having been knocked out of him from the impact. I waited a few seconds more to respond "You're an asshole." Five let a small chuckle pass his lips "I'm well aware." He stated.
It was silent for a minute or two between the both of us. The only noises being heard was our labored breaths and pants of exhaustion. Finally, a question passed my lips, one that until two years ago, I thought I never would ask the boy that I hate.

I sat opposite of Vanya on the far left of the couch, Luther sat on the couch across from us, Allison and Diego sat in chairs by the fireplace and Klaus was, of course, at the bar. It was silent for a long while, none of us really saying anything. "Um.." Luther finally spoke up, standing from his spot, as Klaus poured himself a drink "I guess we should get this started." The five of us looked at Luther, waiting for him to say something. "So, I figured we could have a sort of memorial service in the courtyard at sundown. Say a few words, just at Dad's favorite spot." Allison voiced what we were all thinking at that moment.
"Dad had a favorite spot?"
"Yeah, you know, under the oak tree."
I stared at Luther like he had two heads, having no idea what he was talking about. "We used to sit out there all the time, none of you ever did that?" Klaus came over from the bar wearing a skirt, drinks in hand along with a lit cigarette "Will there be refreshments?" Handing me one of the glasses I was quick to thank him as he continued his questions "Tea? Scones? Cucumber sandwiches are always a winner." Sipping on my glass I watched as Luther threw a little tantrum at the fact that Klaus was smoking.
"What? No. And put that out. You know that dad didn't aloud smoking in here."
Allison was quick to comment on Klaus' sense of style "Is that my skirt?" Putting the cigarette in his mouth, he turned towards our famous sister. "What? Oh, Yeah, this. I found it in your room. It's a little dated, I know, but it's very breathy on the bits." Gesturing towards his crotch, I chortled in amusement, only for Luther to grab our attention once again. "Listen up. Still some important things that we need to discuss, all right?" Diego jumped in the conversation.
Luther turned towards the knife throwing enthusiast "Like the way he died." Diego looked back over at the fireplace, an annoyed "Here we go." Leaving his lips. Klaus sat down between Vanya and I, rolling my eyes in response to Luther. Bringing my glass up to my lips I took a big sip, feeling the burning liquid move down my throat.
Vanya was quick to state "I don't understand. I thought they said it was a heart attack." Luther agreed with her "Yeah, according to the coroner." Crossing one leg over the other, I brought the glass away from my lips. "Well, wouldn't they know?" My powerless sister questioned, only for my pigheaded brother to answer her "Theoretically." My eyes drifted towards the glass in my hand, watching the liquid move around in it as I moved my hand.
Luther was quick to give his opinion on the matter, answering Allison's question "I'm just saying, at the least, something happened. The last time that I talked to dad, he sounded strange." My attention was brought over to my intoxicated brother, who was currently gargling the wine he was drinking "Oh, quelle surprise!" He stated, I kept quiet, not having any input in any of this. "Strange how?" My curly haired sister questioned.
"He sounded on edge. Told me I should be careful who to trust."
Diego spoke up for the third time that night, sharing his opinion on things. "Luther, he was a paranoid, bitter old man" he stood from the chair by the fireplace "who was starting to lose what was left of his marbles." Diego walked towards Luther, trying ti talk some sense into him, only for our brute of a brother to deny it. "No. He must have known something was going to happen." The vigilante stopped in front of Luther, turning to Klaus, the blond man continued "Look, I know you don't like to do it, but I need you to talk to Dad." I let out a scoff along with a roll of my eyes, knowing that there is no way Klaus can talk to anyone in that state.
Taking a sip from my drink my overly sexual brother spoke "I can't just call Dad in the afterlife and be like, 'Dad, could you just...' " he sat up, leaning forward a little bit " stop playing tennis with Hitler for a moment and take a quick call?' " Luther was quick to get annoyed "Since when? That's your thing." A small smile in amusement graced my lips, hiding it behind my glass. "I'm not in the right... frame of mind." Allison was quick to tell everyone for him "You're high?" A loud laugh escaped my intoxicated brother "Yeah! Yeah!" Bringing the glass away from my lips, I shook my head, a chortle of my own passing through my lips.
"I mean, how are you not, listening to this nonsense?"
Klaus gestured towards Luther in front of him, as if to say that everything coming out of the big guys mouth was crazy. "Well, sober up, this is important." Luther stated, causing Klaus to lean back against the couch, letting out a sigh in annoyance. "And then there's the issue of the missing monocle." Diego shook his head "Who gives a shit about a stupid monocle?" He asked.
"Exactly. It's worthless. So whoever took it, I think it was personal. Someone close to him. Someone with a grudge."
I let out a small huff along with a roll of my eyes 'You gotta be fucking kidding me.' I thought "Where are you going with this?" Klaus asked, to high to actually put the pieces together. "Oh, isn't it obvious, Klaus?" Diego paused "He thinks one of us killed Dad." Luther stayed silent, as he looked at each of us, telling us that Diego was right, Luther was pointing the blame at one of us. "You do?" Klaus asked, Vanya was quick to follow, questioning him herself "How could you think that?" I stayed silent, already wanting to be anywhere else but here.
"Great job, Luther. Way to lead."
Diego walked off as Luther tried to defend himself "That's not what I'm saying." I stood up, a glare on my face, shaking my head I was quick to ask "What the fuck is wrong with you?" Before walking off, Klaus following soon after with a statement of his own "You're crazy, man. You're crazy. Crazy." Luther tried to get us back "I've not finished." Klaus turned back around "Okay, well, sorry, I'm just gonna go murder Mom, I'll be right back." Turning around he followed out behind me.
"That's not what I was saying. I didn't-"

This was it our first real mission. This was our chance to prove ourselves and show the world that we can protect them from anything. We would do anything to make our father proud and we sure as hell didn't want to screw it up.
I was the first one on the scene, blending into my surroundings, so I wouldn't get spotted. Cupping my hands around my eyes, I looked through the glass doors, seeing a bunch of guys with guns, innocent people were in there cowering in fear. My eyes narrowed, slowly opening the door, I was quick to slip inside the bank. "What was that?" I heard one of the guys ask, the door shutting behind me. "What was what?" Another asked as I quickly made my way to the other end of the hallway.
"The door, I thought I heard it close."
The voices faded the further I got from them, quickly locating the back entrance, I opened up the back door. Luther was the first to speak "How many of them (Y/n)?" Revealing myself to my siblings, I thought back to how many guards I saw, counting them in my head. "Umm, five I think..." Five was the first to comment on my unsure tone "I knew sending you in there was a bad idea" a growl arose from the back of my throat, irises flashing red "Don't test me today Five." An amused smirk graced his lips, eyes not being able to be seen behind his mask, he crossed his arms a crossed his chest. "Or what?" Five asked, practically challenging me to a fight.
"Alright you two, that's enough."
Our fearless leader spoke up, I sent Five a glare before setting my attention on Luther. "You guys go inside with Eight, I'll come in from the roof." I felt Five's stare on me as One told us all what to do. Jumping up onto the roof I heard Diego grumble "Show off." Eye's meeting Five's once more, I was quick to send him a glare "What?" Biting his lip, preventing a smile from showing, shaking his head in response, causing his dark brown hair to fall a little over his forehead.
Allison grabbed everyone's attention "Come on guys, let's go" I held the door as she walked inside, her curly black hair bouncing behind her as she walked. Diego was quick to follow, his left fist coming in contact with his right hand "Let's go kick some ass." He stated, a smirk gracing his thin lips. Klaus was next to walk inside while saying "Ya know, maybe you guys should just handle this, I'll uh, wait on the sidelines or something..." Ben followed behind Klaus quickly agreeing with him.
"Yeah, maybe Klaus and I could just hang back you guys can handle this."
Klaus waited for Ben, throwing an arm over his shoulder once he made it over to Klaus, the two of them continued to follow after Diego and Allison together. Five shoved his hands in his pockets and was about to step inside, only for me to slide over a little, blocking his path. "What now?" His brows furrowed in both confusion and slight annoyance, only for a smile to grace my lips. My eyes sat on dark brown hair that was over his forehead, reaching my hand up to his hair, I brushed it back, fixing it so that it wasn't in his face.
I heard Five suck in a small breath of air, his cheeks tinged a light shade of pink. "There. Now you look less terrible." Quickly bringing his arm up to move my hand away from his hair, he let an annoyed huff escape his lips, grumbling a quick "Whatever." Sticking his hands in his pockets, walking inside, his left shoulder shoved into my own, causing me to stumble one step back in surprise. My (e/c) eyes stayed glued to Fives back as he walked, I watched as his head turned to look over his shoulder at me, quickly looking back in front of him and walking a bit faster after meeting my gaze.
A wide smile formed on my lips, a giddy feeling overtaking my chest. A giggle passed my lips as I stepped inside, shutting the door behind me. Turning into a cat I was quick to run after Five, walking close next to him to join the rest of the team.

The six of us watched from around the corner as one of the robbers talked on the phone, currently trying to negotiate with the police. "Now you've put me in a position where I gotta do something I don't want to do. Hmm?" Number Three let out a small huff before strutting over to the man on the phone. All while the other robbers gathered the hostages in different areas of the room. "Shit!" Allison stopped next to the guy who was just on the phone, bringing his attention to the 12 year old girl that appeared next to him.
"Hey, get back with the others."
Allison wasn't phased, saying her signature phrase "I heard a rumor." The guy leaned down threateningly, as if to scare her "What? What did you say?" A smile appeared on the curly haired girl, cupping a hand over her lips she leaned closer for him to hear. "I heard a rumor that you shot your friend in the foot." The guy looked over at one of the other robbers, aiming it at the other guys foot. "Hey dude." The guy stated, all while the rumored man cocked his pistol "What the hell?" Shooting the other in the leg, he fell to the ground letting out a yell in pain.
Some of the hostages screamed in fright at the sound of gunshots. Hearing footsteps on the roof, I looked up, only to see Number One crash through the top window and land behind the counter. Picking up the guy behind it, he slammed his head on the counter only to toss him through a top window at the entrance of the bank. Diego was the next to show, running past the four of us while saying "Guns are for sissies. Real men throw knives." Stopping in the middle of the room, he threw two of his knives in front of him, only to angle them to turn towards one of the robbers at the side of the room.
I watched Klaus run out to join the fight, helping Diego and Allison back the robber that shot his friend, onto the counter. "Get back, you freaks." Diego was quick to make a witty comment "Hey, be careful up there, buddy." Allison was quick to bounce off Twos comment "Yeah. Wouldn't want you to get hurt." I felt a hand being placed on my shoulder, looking over to the right of me I watched Five take a step forward as he stared down the man, a determined look in his eyes. A bright blue light being seen, followed by the fluttering noise of his spacial jumps. When the light left, Five was gone. Turning my attention back to the man who now held a gun up to my siblings "Get back now!" I watched Five appear behind him, his legs in a crisscross style.
The guy quickly turned around in response to hearing Five behind him. Aiming the gun at Five he tried to shoot him, only for Five to disappear, the guy started angrily shooting the same spot over and over again, as if that would somehow stop the dark haired boy. Appearing behind the robber, with his arms crossed, he caught sight of Five and brought his gun up to shoot him only to see that it's been replaced with a stapler. He tried shooting the 12 year old boy with the stapler a couple of times, Five decided to comment "Ooh! That's one bad ass stapler!" The robber stopped, finally realizing the disappearance of his weapon. Only for Five to grab the guys arm and shove the stapler against his head.
I chuckled a little as I watched the robber fall off the counter from the hit to his head, only for a guy trying to run at Five from behind to catch my eye. A growl escaped me, my eyes narrowing in anger at the man, I quickly started running after him, all while turning into a wolf. Hopping behind Five successfully stopping the robber from reaching him, a growl arose from the back of my throat. The man stopped in his tracks as he stared me down, quickly bringing up his gun he shot at me a couple of times. I closed my eyes gritting my teeth in pain as I took the hits, blood dripped out of the wounds, opening my eyes I stared angrily at the man in front of me.
"Why aren't you going down?!"
I stood there staring at the man, letting out a growl in response, my skin was quick to heal, pushing the bullets out all on its own and sealing the wounds shut. The only evidence of having been shot was from the blood that was slowly dripping down my sides and legs. The man's eyes seemed to widen at this new discovery, I let out a couple of huffs from my nose, as if to signify a laugh, showing my teeth to him I was quick to pounce on him. A yell left his lips in terror as I landed on top of him, teeth bared. 'Oh just shut up.' I thought before my mouth gripped onto the quivering man's neck below me.
My teeth managed to break the skin as I angrily pulled back, ripping a chunk of skin off the terrified man's neck, successfully getting him to stop yelling. The river of blood flowing out of his open wound caused him to choke on the red liquid, quickly bleeding out and dying. Tossing the chunk of skin off to the side, landing in front of Klaus, he covered his mouth in response and had to turn away. A hand rest on Ben's shoulder using Ben to support himself "I think I'm gonna be sick." He stated, I shook my head, letting out a small huff in response to his statement. The metallic taste of blood sat in my mouth, not seeming to go away anytime soon. And I didn't mind it, not one bit.
"Did you really have to cause a scene? I could've handled that."
The screams of the terrified hostages could be heard around me. I moved my body off to the side, turning my head to look at the arrogant 12 year old boy, who sat on the end of the counter in a criss cross fashion. Standing up on my hind legs, I turned back into my human form, hands, legs and face, covered in blood, while my uniform sat on me, clean as can be. I moved my hair out of my face, crossing my arms across my chest. Eyes narrowing at the dark haired boy in front of me, I responded to his statement. "Oh really?" Fives eyes seemed to widen as he spacial jumped away.
A small huff passed my lips as I turned around, only to be met with the sight of a fist coming towards my face. Five was quick to appear in front of me, grabbing the bank robber's fist in his right hand, an angry look being written across his face. The dark haired boy was quick to twist the man's arm before kicking it in, a yell in pain escaped from the bank robber as Five successfully broke the man's arm. Five let go of his fist, as the man fell to the ground, letting out whimpers in pain as he gripped onto his broken arm.
"Like I said." Five turned back to face me, letting a couple of huffs pass through his lips "I could've handled it."

After all the robbers in the open were dealt with, there were still a few left in the vault, so we sent in the one person who could easily finish them off. "Do we really have to do this?" Number Six asked, Ben stood in front of the door to the vault, while the six of us stood around Ben trying to get him to go in the vault. "Come on, Ben. There's more guys in the vault." Luther stated, a sigh escaped Ben's lips as he walked towards the door. "I didn't sign up for this." Opening the door, he stepped inside.
The hostages were quick to make there way out of the bank as the six of us watched Ben use his powers through the glass. I stood next to Five as we watched the dark outline of his tentacles moving around, killing people off one by one. Screams and yells of fear and pain could be heard through the doors. I watched blood splatter on the windows as two guys got thrown into them, both bleeding heavily. A smile graced my lips, one final roar from Ben's beast could be heard from inside the vault.
Opening the door, the Korean boy stepped out, only to be covered in his victims blood from head to toe. Seeming very uncomfortable, with the situation he was in, letting out a shaky breath he was quick to ask.

Klaus' arm rested on Five's shoulder, as I swung my arm around Ben's. "Looks like we're both a bloody mess." This grabbed the Korean boys attention, a small smile replacing his frown "I guess so" he sighed out, only for me to look back at the reporters and cameras all around us.
"How did you get in the bank?"
"Tell us what happened inside"
My eyes drifted from the reporters and police officers over to Five, only to see him already looking at me. Lips pulled back, as if he were angry about something, but still wanted to seem happy. 'What is he mad about now?' My brows furrowed in confusion as the two of us looked at each other for a second or two, only for me to quickly shaking my head and look back at the crowd in front of me.

The six of us stood in front of the bank lined up, Ben and I managed to clean off the blood from the dispute. All of us were in our uniform jackets and masks, our scarfs wrapped around our necks. Reginald Hargreeves stood in front of of us, talking to the press, camera's snapping pictures of all of us as he spoke. "Has changed. There are some among us gifted with abilities far beyond the ordinary." I took a glance over at Five who stood next to me, watching as a smug smirk graced his lips.
"I have adopted seven such children. I give you the inaugural class of the Umbrella Academy."
Reginald stepped off to the side "Mr. Hargreeves! Mr. Hargreeves." He made his way to the top step next to Klaus as the reporter continued "Channel 9 News. What happened to their parents?" Now on the top step facing the reporters he was quick to answer "They were suitably compensated." Another reporter jumped in "Are you concerned about the welfare of the children?" I closed my eyes as all the clicking of the cameras and the overlapping voices of reporters starting to get to loud for me to handle.
I heard Reginald's voice but it felt so distant as if all the other voices and noises were drowning him out. My gloves hands turned into fists at my sides as I tried to calm myself. "As I am for the fate of the world" Reginald continued and I could barely hear him, feeling a shoe nudge against my own my eyes opened as my head shot over to the dark haired boy next to me. "Just focus on my voice." Five whispered all while staring ahead at the crowd. His voice was very faint but I heard what he said, which only made me confused considering the fact that he wasn't saying anything else.
That was until I heard a very faint humming coming from Five, my head turned to face toward the crowd of people in front of us as I closed my eyes, shoving my gloved hands in my pockets I tried to just focus on Five's humming, not thinking anything of it. That was until it got louder, over coming all the other sounds, turning it all into background noise. Once the sound of Five's voice got louder I realized that he was humming the song that we'd dance to in his room, if we weren't to busy absolutely hating each other.
I thought almost trying to convince myself that I was annoyed, but I couldn't help the smile that graced my lips. My eyes stayed closed as the memories of the two of us slow dancing together as Five sang the lyrics to one of Elton John's famous songs.

Of course, back then I didn't realize it, but that was the day I caught feelings for the arrogant bastard. I'd never admit that out loud, even if he suddenly showed up again after all these years. I'd rather act like I hate him than boost his ego even more.
Walking through the halls of this wretched place I used to call home, I was quick to come across my room. A small smile tugged at the ends of my lips a little I pushed the door open, the first thing my eyes caught sight of being the neatly made bed. Walking through my room, I made my way over to the small vanity that was next to the door. Pulling the chair out, I sat in front of it, examining all the polaroid pictures that I stuck around the mirror throughout the years.
Out of all the pictures, there were two that caught my eye. The first was of Five and I. In the picture, I had an arm swung over Five's shoulders, a wide smile on my face as I stared at the camera, only for the dark haired boy to be looking down at me, confusion written across his face. After that picture, Five wanted to take a better one, and we did but he ended up keeping that one. Once Five disappeared on us, I went to get the polaroid picture back from him so I could keep it as a memory, only to find no trace of it.
A small sigh escaped my lips at the memories as my eyes drifted over to the next one, which was a picture of me and Ben. I was looking at the camera with an open mouthed smile , Ben's arm was wrapped around my shoulder, currently placing a kiss on my left cheek. His eyes were closed in the picture but I remember his chocolate brown hues, how they shined with so much love and kindness. I remember when that picture was taken, we managed to sneak out that day and went to the park. Ben always loved it because of how peaceful it is, a nice place where he can just read and relax. I only really loved it, because it made Ben smile and I would always do anything to make him happy.
Covering my eyes with my hands, I rested my elbows on the vanity. Taking deep breaths to calm myself down, I felt water make its way past my eyes. Sniffling, I brought my head up, hands still hiding my (e/c) hues from the world around me, rubbing them against my eyes, as if to stop myself from crying. Leaning my head back, I took my hands away from my face, (e/c) hues staring up at the ceiling above me. Hands rested on my knees, I let a small huff pass my lips. Bringing my head back down to look at myself in the mirror.
Messy (h/c) hair tied back in a braid, eyes red from the tears, a frown on my face. I hated mirrors. They always showed me the person I despised most, reminding me of the person I’ve become. No longer was I the happy go lucky girl I used to be. No. The girl who used to dance around her room, bringing joy to her siblings is gone. The only evidence that I was ever happy was the polaroid pictures that has been taped up around the mirror.
My eyes narrowed angrily at the mirror in front of me, standing up, I walked away to look around the rest of the room. The light blue polaroid camera that sat on the desk across my room caught my eye. Making my way over to it, the memory of the night I got the camera caused a small smile to grace my lips. Once I got to the desk, I picked up the polaroid camera, checking to see if there was any film left. Lucky for me, there was still some left.
‘Well damn. Might as well take a picture.’
Wiping my eyes once again to make me look somewhat decent for the picture. “Well…” bringing the camera up high to take an angled picture “Here’s too…” I thought for a moment, letting out a small sigh “Never having to come back here, again.” I threw on a smile, pressing the button to take the picture, only to feel something brush against my left cheek. The feeling was barely there but I was sure I felt something. Bringing the camera down, I took a glance around me, but no one was here with me.
Brows furrowed in confusion as I took out the now printed picture, placing it on the desk, waiting for it to develop. An all to familiar suddenly started echoing through the halls, I Think We’re Alone by Tiffany, was a song that Luther loved to listen too. Hell, all of us used to dance around to this song in his room at times, and we all loved it. I slowly started swaying to the music, humming the lyrics here and there, till my swaying turned into full on dancing, feeling like that twelve year old girl who used to dance around with her brothers and sisters.
Stopping to check on the picture, I noticed it fully developed and was about to start dancing again, only for something to catch my eye. Picking up the polaroid picture, I brought it closer to my face to see if I was seeing things correctly. It was barely visible, almost faded, but with my eyesight I was able to make out a figure next to me. It was a man, just about my age, hair in a brush up hairstyle, wearing a sweatshirt with a jacket over it. As I stared at the picture I couldn’t help the thought that crossed my mind ‘he looks like…’ bringing the picture away from me, I placed it back down before looking around the room once more “Ben! Ben, are you here?” I could feel my heart beating rapidly inside my chest, wanting, no. Needing. An answer to my question, I had to know if the boy I loved is here, with me, right now.
I giant noise from outside, along with thunder and lightning, caused the music to stop, I covered my ears from all the loud noises. Looking around I watched some things in my room fly off to the direction the noise came from. Letting out a huff in anger, I closed my eyes and tried to block out all of the other noises, only focusing on the loud sound coming from outside. Opening my eyes, I was quick to run towards it, my legs working on autopilot as I made my way to it.

Running out the open door, I looked around at my siblings seeing them talking but I couldn’t pinpoint what they were saying. Looking back at the giant portal in front of me, I noticed a man trying to come through. I was suddenly pulled behind Luther, looking back I noticed Klaus using me as a human shield. Rolling my eyes I looked back at the portal in front of us, only to see the old man shift from himself, to what looked to be a 16 year old boy. I immediately recognized who it was “Five?” I mumbled only for me to quickly run out from behind Luther and over to the portal.
I shouted, I could barely hear the yells of my siblings or the sound of someone chasing after me, as all my focus was set on the boy in the portal. Once I got close enough, I reached a hand out to somehow get Five out of there, only for a bolt of electricity to shoot through me at the slightest touch, after that, everything went dark.
