Info about one of my (Jack centered) AU under the cut
So in this au he’s made for comfort rather than protection, this au had LAYERS of lore and I’m not sure I remember ALL of it.
So I based this off Solar’s AU, but instead of one or the other dying, they BOTH live, and after Moon discovers the other dimensions exist and tells the others about it, Sun goes “hey let’s open up our universe as a safe place” and the others weren’t sure at first but Sun promises “it’s a good idea!” And at first it was, they sorted into roles, Sun learning to bandage and repair damages and wounds, Moon is in charge of planning, and Eclipse, whilst security, he and Moon are in charge of setting up their defenses, they open up and encounter all different kinds of people, Animatronics, Astrals, Aliens, etc.
But of course all good things come to an end
They would welcome a new relative into the group, Earth, and she originally took up Suns job while he was on break (and after that they more often than not worked together) till one day suddenly, Earth disappeared and everything went into disarray, after working with his sister so long, Sun wasn’t ready for the workload, while Moon worked on modifications to keep Sun above water, Eclipse started working on something else, someone to take some of Sun workload, someone smaller, Jack

Jack is made mostly of scraps, but Eclipse is proud of this little thing he’s created, so with extended limbs and a helper, things for Sun seem a lot easier, till they discover where Earth has gone, her empty shell coming with nothing but a note, a warning, “if you don’t shut this little operation down… there will be consequences…” and of course they grow weary, but never do they do what the note advises “they can’t tell us what to do, they can’t force us either, we have allies now.” Moon says, and he can’t be more wrong.
Moon cannot seem leave his lab, Earths empty shell beside him, it’s driving him crazy, he wants his little sister back, and he’s nowhere near close to giving up on her, but he also has to keep their universe safe, every day it gets harder, neither Eclipse nor Sun can drag him out of his lab, he grows more and more paranoid, eventually they send Jack in to get him, but that doesn’t end well for anyone, Moon is losing his mind and he nearly breaks Jacks eyes, leaving him confused and perhaps a bit scared, Eclipse more than agitated and, Sun growing ever more worried, by now they stop taking people in, they take care of who remains and those who cannot leave
Im now realizing I want to pick up this au again, I might publish something on AO3, don’t expect it to be any good tho, I’m not amazing at writing dialogue (in fact I often avoid it lol) but I don’t want to make comics either

Earth in this au is sorta a mermaid but I like the idea of her being a selkie, I actually decided this before I made the au, I just had the thought like a year ago like “you know, Earth would be cool as a selkie” she she was kinda the first part of the au I made

the thing about media literacy is that understanding why the author chose to specify that the curtains are blue is the same skill set as understanding that the way the author characterizes all black characters as angry or all chinese characters as meek and silent is racist. it is the same skill set as being able to identify when a news source is biased or when someone is feeding you propaganda. the ability to ask "why did this person choose to present this premise in this specific way?" is a critical skill in a world full of misinformation. why are the curtains blue? maybe it's a characterization detail. maybe it's extraneous worldbuilding. why is this character written as being right all the time? maybe you're intended to disagree with them. maybe it doesn't matter. maybe you should still ask why.

Was kinda disappointed that everything I did previously was just a pile of messy sketches so on this round of brainrot I tried spitting out something more painterly looking
It turned out a bit overdone and polished but it was a fun experience nonetheless
