If there’s anything I learnt from these memes it’s this:
“Don’t ever say shit about Scorpio”
I swear 90% of astrology blogs have Venus or Mars in Virgo or Scorpio or both
Lol mars in scorpio
Venus in Virgo 💡✨
Virgo Venus 💘
Venus in Scorpio 🥀
I think that there are a lot of astrologers in this website that have such amazing potential and when discovering the astro community on here, I was impressed that there are people who are 16 (the age I was when I got into astrology) who had an even better understanding of astrology than I had.
I have 10 years of experience, which in no way bests knowledge, but I try to provide what I can from my perspective, from having practiced for the time I have. And I will say this: as amazed as I am at the knowledge many of you have, we need to do better than associating signs and houses. Houses have to do with our earthly perspective. They have to do with time, with the placement of things on the horizon. Signs are different. They are not the “natural rulers” of any specific house. The zodiac ties in with the seasons, with the tilt of the earth in relation to the sun, and with the relationship between the earth and the sun.
Libra is not the “natural ruler” of the 7th house, just as Pisces is not the ruler of the 12th house, so on and so forth. We are doing a disservice to astrology, to our comprehension of astrology, and to others’ comprehension of astrology when we associate signs and houses and planets. They are not all the same. Even from the traditional standpoint, the planets had “joys” but that did not make them the ruler of that house. We can expand on what we know the houses to be associated with, give a more modern perspective to the traditionally fatalistic concepts behind the 6th, 8th, and 12th houses, but we need to move past this stage of sign and house and planet association, because it’s mixing significations that don’t belong together, like Scorpio and death.
By all means discuss archetypes. By all means talk about psychological astrology. Discuss the symbolism of the signs or houses or planets. Modern doesn’t mean bad. But the one modern astrology thing that I will disavow is the association of houses, signs, and planets, known as the “12 letter alphabet”. We can do better, we can expand our knowledge.
I agree wholeheartedly.
You know what really just gets under my skin? Those astrology observations that aren’t even observations, they’re just straight up personal bias. Like saying things such as “Leo Mars are the type to cheat on you and drop you for someone better.” isn’t an observation valid enough to share if it’s solely based on a single personal experience. That’s the spreading of false perceptions masked as facts, and that’s potentially harmful to people who are new to the community.
Indeed. Also, where is the actual astrological observation?
If someone with a Leonine Mars did have a history of serial-cheating, I’d want to see a full study.
What house is that Leo Mars? What about it’s ruler, the Sun? What sign/house is the Sun in? Do the two aspect each other? Any harsh aspects to Mars or the Sun? Is Mars out of bounds?
If people are posting shit about placements, I want to see well-reasoned astrological justification for their claims!
Astrology posts that say things like “this placement can indicate” whatever disorder are not okay, there are some things astrology just does not cover.
I disagree especially because astrology is so accurate
I also disagree, but you’re right that disorders wouldn’t be indicated through simple placements. That indicates that there is only one causal mechanism for whatever varying issue, rather than it being the complex confluence of things including environmental factors, upbringing, brain-chemistry, diet, lifestyle, relationships, etc. Astrologers are not psychologists or doctors, and should not be diagnosing anyone with anything. It is not their job to do so, rather it is their job to interpret the web of the cosmos in order to put things in context for a client. That being said, there should be nothing that astrology does not cover, and there have been many successful psychologists and doctors who have used astrology in their practice to aid with diagnosis. IF that is something that someone is interested in doing, then they need to seek out the accreditation that they need in their respective field FIRST. The astrology can only be used as an additional tool in what is otherwise an already sizable belt.
Also if you have a disorder, I think using astrology as a way to cope with it is completely VALID. Sometimes just an explanation for something we struggle with is helpful. Sometimes seeing how your disorder can be affected by other things in your natal chart is helpful. Don’t try to take away a tool that people use to work through or work with their disorders.
Whether I articulated it correctly, it’s the fact that certain placements do not immediately nor directly indicate disorders. Placements manifest in more than one way and sometimes the difficulties of a placement can have something to do with a disorder, but for other people with the same placement, that may not be the case. Astrology is a tool used for many things, especially when it comes growth and learning to work with yourself. It should just be acknowledged however, that astrology alone without consideration of biological factors, environmental factors, and other elements cannot solely determine what a person is going through all the time. Don’t accuse me of trying to take away something that I advocate for myself from other people. My fault for being vague
Astrology should not be used as your first diagnostic unless you truly have no other options.
That said, once a patient has a diagnosis from a medical professional, going to an astrologer & letting them know about the diagnosis, along with details such as when they first experienced symptoms can be a really helpful exercise.
If someone has been struggling with an unknown condition for years and the doctors can’t help/don’t know what it is - that is when the patient ought to consider seeing someone who specialises in Medical Astrology.
People get queasy about this topic but let’s remember that several hundred years ago this was the done thing.
Living by the Moon
The Moon.
Even if you don’t believe in astrology, you cannot deny the powerful effect the Moon has; upon our tides, upon nature and upon the Human mind. For She lights up the night, so we in the dark may see.
As of my writing this, a New Moon has just occurred in the sign of the scales, Libra ♎︎ A New Moon marks the beginning of the lunar month, a cycle that lasts for between 29 and 30 days.
In my experience it is very beneficial to live by the rhythm of the Moon. This way we can work on our creating our future, the way we would like it to be, one month at a time. But how?
NEW MOON/ SET AN INTENTION:
Whilst the moon is lightless, crossing in front of the sun, set your goal, what do you want to have achieved in 30 days time?
Perhaps set one big goal, and several smaller ones, which may or may not be directly supporting the larger goal - just ensure you avoid spreading yourself too thin. The New Moon is the perfect time to decide to try something new for a month.
WAXING MOON/ WORK:
Now one day at a time, with your goals in mind, work towards making them a reality. Avoid expecting too much at once, and take each day as it comes!
FULL MOON/ CELEBRATION:
As this is the brightest the moon is during her cycle it is possible that one’s intentions can manifest at this time of the month, but in any case it is a point to recognise how far you have come over the last two weeks - if you have been working steadily towards your targets you will definitely notice your improvements since you began. This may also be the time in which you realise your vision, and see the potential final form your project might take! It’s a time to celebrate!
WANING MOON/ MANAGING:
As the Moon’s light begins to turn away from the earth, one’s focus shifts from building up towards the goal to maintaining the infrastructure they have already implemented. This is the time to make tweaks and ensure that the details are indeed all in place and as they should be; perform any trimming and pruning as you see fit to ensure your project’s longevity.
BLACK MOON/ CLEANSING:
Once the waning crescent disappears from the night sky, vanishing into the rays of dawn, we reach the end of our cycle. At this time we must review the past month, how did we perform, what was successful, where could we have improved? Through this process of review we can identify what held us back, and make the conscious decision to let it go, to banish it from us, so that we may enter the next cycle without baggage and doubt; cleansed and ready to take on the next month!
You may find it particularly beneficial to choose a project that is associated with the the sign of the New Moon, this month is ♎︎ Libra so subjects related to art, law, relationships and balance will naturally take focus in some way for the month. The next Full Moon will be in ♉︎ Taurus which is associated with ART, BEAUTY & NATURE ~ it really is the perfect time for Deviants to try out experimenting with a new medium, technique or subject for the month and really make use of the chance to kickstart some growth in your art form!
All the best & enjoy working by the Moon’s Light.

is it possible for a stronger sun sign or dominance by a stronger sign can overshadow your rising sign? like i have a cancer rising but am scorpio dominant and i dont really relate to my cancer rising at all and people always call me unapproachable lol
dominants are unreliable and just eh
if you have a cancer rising, im assuming you have aries in the 10th which can explain why some say you’re “unapproachable” since mars sometimes has that really strong and in-your-face vibe which can intimidate others if that makes sense?
but definitely check your personal placements and the houses they fall in AND the planets in your angular houses
Where is this anon’s Moon?
I know a lot of people who are perplexed by Venus detriment in Scorpio because our western mentality has glorified dramatic, and intense love affairs. The reason it detriments is because love cannot truly exist where there is no trust, paranoia and fear, that is the antithesis of love. Love is security, love is knowing they are there no matter what, accepting them unconditionally and being there as a friend, student, teacher and lover all in one. Love does not persist in drama, and will surely die if it is founded on tension, and big displays.
This sounds more like a description of Venus in Leo or even Aries.
Let’s remember that Scorpio is a feminine Mars ruled sign. It’s not about drama, like Leo, it’s about the truth. Getting to the heart of the nitty gritty truth.
The *reason* Venus is considered to be in exile in Taurus is two fold:
Scorpio is the furthest sign away from Taurus, thus the furthest from Venus’ home.
Scorpio is Mars ruled, and Mars & Venus are complementary opposites.
Love is supposed to be sweet, compassionate, caring, beautiful,
But for Venus in Scorpio, love is founded on truth… and sometimes the truth can hurt, and very often the Truth is ugly.
Venus in Scorpio is unable to tolerate the sweet fluffy love of Taurus or Libra, she just needs to know some simple facts: is there attraction? Is it genuine? Are they into me? Are they being honest? Are they faithful? Etc.
I very much disagree, especially on the Leo Venus. I know the archetype of Leo is dramatic, but it’s drama in a theatrical way, not drama in a negative shitstorm way.
Scorpio rules secrets. Being obsessed with the “truth” can lead to seeing what they perceive to be the “truth” - for example, paranoia and being sure someone is cheating on them even if they aren’t.
We wouldn’t bother with detriments, etc if they didn’t have actual meaning. Too much Mars and Pluto in a relationship is not healthy. I wrote a little thing about strong Pluto in synastry that sort of says what I mean a little, here.
I’m not sure why you’re disagreeing with me because it would seem you are on my wavelength. Almost.
First of all, I’m not really saying anything about Venus is Leo. I’m simply contesting that Scorpionic Venus is drama obsessed - they certainly are intense, but in regards to the truth. And that can include paranoia around faithfulness, particularly if Mars, Venus’ lord, is harshly aspecting Venus in Scorpio.
I have plenty of example charts that would indicate that Venus in Aries has more dramatic relationship dynamics. And we can also make that case using the doctrine of Rulership.
First of all, when I talk about Rulership, I’m referring to Domicile, Exile, Exhaltation & Depression.
The reason I use the term Exile rather than Detriment, is because the original Greek word εναντιωμα has a range of meanings including: opposition, incompatibility, discrepancies.
If we are using the term Domicile to mean a planet in it’s home sign, e.g: Venus in Taurus, or Libra, then it stands to reason we should use a word that effectively conveys the idea of being in the place opposite to your home. The word Exile conveys this effectively, whereas Detriment is less clear.
So, back to Venus in exile in Scorpio.
What does she have in common with Venus in Aries? Both ruled by Mars & both in Exile, as far away from the Domicile signs of Venus as possible.
However, Venus in water signs by Day has Triplicity Rulership - despite being far from home she has support, and therefore Venus in Scorpio in daycharts will have a different quality than Venus by night in Scorpio.
Venus does not have triplicity Rulership in fire signs, so charts with Venus in Aries are more dignified by night because Venus is generally held to be more benefic by night, as is Mars, it’s ruler in this instance.
Pluto certainly has an ugly side, and certainly in relationships, particularly if one or both partners have Pluto problems. That said, squares, oppositions and some conjunctions are going to be the most problematic aspects in synastry for Pluto. A good Pluto trine from one partner to a sensitive point in the other partners chart could be a really amazing, reliable, rock of a friend.
It all depends on the charts in question.
Hi! I saw your post about doing research, and I actually would love to take this opportunity to ask if you could recommend some good witchy astrology blogs! I'm having some results be extremely confusing and I'm hoping you have some recommendations that might help me clear it up!
Ooh great question! Astrology is one of those things that requires so much base research and memorization that I never put the effort in, and don’t pay super close attention to. So I went through my astrology tag on my blog and found some of the OPs of posts I’ve reblogged in the past:

(Random observations)
People with strong Jupiter in the Natal chart also tend to have lots of Saturn/Pluto. Jupiter’s optimism allows them to survive harsh conditions early in life. Saturn/Pluto infuses Jupiter with realism, tempers arrogance, and defines the Native’s natural gifts. People with these placements are wise, grounded, and successful— especially after their Saturn’s return.
Cancer is the most change-averse sign in the zodiac. They don’t want to change and hate when others change too. Example: Stephenie Meyer, a Cancer sun, authored a series about unchanging immortal beings— eternally young, in love, and frozen at a certain mental age.
Cancer, Libra, and Pisces have a reputation for being soft-hearted. However, the most caring and empathetic sign in the Zodiac is Scorpio. Scorpios care so deeply that they would do anything for their loved ones. Scorpios guard their hearts because their unconditional love was often taken advantage of.
Libras are masters of being honest without hurting someone’s feelings. They can deliver the unfiltered truth in a diplomatic manner, holding nothing back but preserving the other person’s dignity.
Harmonious Moon-Saturn aspects correspond with ‘moderate’ political views. The natives are neither liberal nor conservative, don’t particularly support progress either way, yet take pride in their opinions and adopt the most popular beliefs. Security and faith in existing institutions takes priority.
Signs ruled by Venus are extremely logical and methodical. Venus is connected to beauty; think of the effort, attention to detail, and minute, calculated actions a person must take to be perceived as ‘beautiful.’ Beauty is connected to power, wealth, and status. Creating and recoginzing beauty requires a high level of intelligence. Thus, strong Venus in a natal chart can indicate intelligence as well as beauty.
Aries gets a rep for losing its cool, but Gemini and Virgo are actually the most irritable signs in the Zodiac, and they’re not afraid to show it.
Cancer, Libra, Capricorn, and Aquarius risings can have a dark side that they only show to their closest loved ones. These tendencies could take the form of tantrums, acrid insults, and openly controlling behavior. The pressure of maintaining a good reputation and always having a ‘mask’ in public creates inner tension, which can be released in ugly ways.
A few observations regarding your observations:
Stephenie Meyer is actually a Capricorn Sun & Moon, with Saturn in Cancer.
Additionally, I would strongly contest the assertion that Cancer is the most change-resistant sign - that obviously goes to Taurus, fixed Earth. Earth is the densest element & fixed signs are the most stubborn.
When Venus & Mercury aspect each other or rule each other in a birthchart we are going to see all kinds of interesting manifestations of intelligence, particularly when it comes to musical intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence & naturalist intelligence.
Also consider that Venus is strongest in Pisces, Libra & Taurus, and all these signs deal with value & beauty in different arenas.

Mercury has stationed direct!
The Messenger of the Gods has just stationed direct (i.e: has stopped retrograde motion) @ 28′♌︎ 27″ at 11.30 UTC - this happens to be the same degree as the recent solar eclipse! Mercury went retrograde on August 13th @ 11′♍︎38″, and thus it will now be travelling in direct motion through it’s shadow zone until September 19th at approximately 4pm UTC.
I wonder how this will change the developments in the “Trump/Wall” controversy?
Indeed! Traditionally in Babylonian Astrology the Solar Eclipse was considered a bad omen for the King/Kingdom, so I found it very interesting that within 48hours of the eclipse there was outrage at Trump’s plan to push through with the wall, and thus subsequent talks of impeachment. I’m not sure how things are going to develop at this point, but it seems likely that Mercury stationing here will bring some new information to light, and thus radically flip the situation or our perspective of the situation on it’s head! We’ll just have to see, I guess!
