I've been a part of the study community since the moment earth was created (like, 8 to 9-ish years ago?). Nothing much has changed - lots of aesthetic photos of desks, IPads, notes, and books! I love how the study community is still thriving up to now.

💌 Snippets of my life.

Trying to have some school-life balance by spending time with non-school friends and going to the gym. I've been consistently working out again, 3 times a week, and it feels good being strong.

Also, I was thinking that I should really be a bit more serious with my academics since I've been slacking off a ton. Maybe it's because third year is generally more exhausting than last year 💀. Still. Ack.

☕️ Don't you just love cozy cafes?

First two weeks this second semester is crazy. I'm not joking. Had to do a lot of work for research, psych, and med-surg. There would be times where I felt so exhausted, I'd sleep at around 8:30 without brushing my teeth. Yikes! Hoping this week would be better.

Also, the matcha latte was ok taste wise. The gyudon was great! Hope it had more meat though 😌

💌 Last week was the official start of my class! Honestly, I kind of felt lonely not having a solid group of friends in class. I felt like I was just a floater, weaving through different friend groups but never being the person they'd really call a friend or being a constant person in their group. I miss my friends (they're in another class).

Anyways! First three days were incredibly exhausting for some reason, too. RSD and the amount of requirements really hit me hard.

Scrolling because of the dopamine slot machines that are social media might be making the average person more distracted, but that level of distraction is not the equivalent to chronic struggles with executive functions like working memory to the point you need to be diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder.

Honestly, any form of rejection - actual or perceived, messes with my brain so much to the point that it always replays in my mind and its so distracting. God, I hate it so much and I hate ADHD 💔

I realise there is only so much advice you can follow. Ultimately, you have to live. That means making mistakes. You can’t go through life expecting that wise words will be enough. Sometimes you have to suffer to learn the lesson.

my advice for not going insane? try to do something every weekend. go to events, you’ll love events. and not like just hang out with ur friends or go clubbing , no, make a day out of going to some local market by yourself or attend some strange convention event you’ve never heard of. i cannot stress the importance of doing random events on a friday night or saturday or a sunday at r pm for mentally ill people especially if you’re depressed and have been searching for an anchor 2 tether yourself to. attend some events now

🏃🏽‍♀️Was supposed to go out for a run this morning, but I drank with my friends yesterday. Anyways, starting the day late today! I'll be working on some academic-related tasks, practice some skills, and read a chapter of "What You Are Looking For Is In The Library" (great book! I definitely recommend you to read it).

Also, lately I've been interested in the hybrid athlete lifestyle (cardio + resistance training). It's something I want to commit to even if university starts this thursday. Honestly, the time I consistently went to the gym greatly helped with my mental health. Even after stopping for about 4 months due to how busy we were at university, I could still feel its effects (less emotionally labile, more resilient). Super exited to continue doing active stuff :)

learning lately that a lot of confidence is about owning up. like "yeah i'm a little addicted to my phone right now" or "yeah i'm not really over this person yet" or "yeah i still get pretty anxious in crowds" just saying anything at all but then following it up w "but i'm trying to get better" and being super nonchalant and unaffected. so powerful. you would literally be undefeatable in the face of even the most judgmental person. no one can judge you for things you already know about yourself and are trying to improve on. the trick is to know yourself from the inside out, to hold yourself accountable, and to actively improve every day. like that is literally the secret to never feeling like you're at the mercy of somebody else's judgment

it's like if you were talking to a friend and they went "you're too sensitive" and then your whole day is ruined because you're like?? no i'm not??? and then you get defensive and start questioning something you never knew about yourself, bc you never dug that deep into your identity. i've been there. but now i'm trying to not only confront the ugliest parts of me, but also own up to them instead of concealing myself and trying to be something i'm not. it's completely fine to not be perfect but to try to be the best you could possibly be. everyone who claims perfection is lying. just own up to ur shit
