Ludum Dare 54 is a massive worldwide game development event, and my game, Less is Moore, came 2nd out of over 500 submissions in the most competitive bracket! I made a video about it! I'm a very small creator, so if you'd watch it, that would be great! ❤️❤️❤️

How do games load SO MANY textures?!

Hey, long time no see!! ❤️ I've been working on a video about how video games store and use so many textures, and it's finally done! I think it's really good, and I would love it if people would take a look at it. This is like, my first real video on YouTube so I don't think it'll get much organic attention — so if you're willing to give it a watch it would be super appreciated. I promise it's interesting!

Thank you so much!! This is my first video on YouTube other than some miscellaneous stuff, but I took film school back in high school and I know my way around an editing software. :P The video already got way more attention than I thought it was capable of getting, so I'm just riding the high right now. :) I'm definitely going to be making more stuff like this in the future! But in the meantime I have Ludum Dare to pay attention to.

This is one of the first player models I made for Zepha! It's actually lost media now, I made it several years ago and I no longer have the walking animation, because of a file saving issue. I definitely want to revise this design to be more distinctly alien before release, but I'm still super proud of it!

In the game, there will be 8-12 different playable alien races, each with different strengths, weaknesses, and abilities. We have ideas for several already, but there's still a few slots we have yet to fill out.

What sort of alien species would you like to play as? We might base some races off of ideas given here, if we like them enough! Let us know how they'd look, what abilities they'd have, and where you would find them on planet Zeus! 🐺

These little guys were the first unique 3d model I ever made of a living creature! They entirely predate the Zeus's alien theme, and go alllllllll the way back to when the game I was making was just meant to be 'Minecraft but with more stuff'.

Unfortunately, Earth species aren't going to exist on Zeus in the base game, but nearly all of the game content I've created over the past four years will be permissively licensed, so these rabbits could be easily repurposed and added to the game as a mod, or used in someone else's game using the Zepha engine.

Zepha is all about creating your own experiences. It has an official, super stable modding API for creating in, that allows you to create mods for games, or even create entirely new ones! Anything you create can be shared with others instantly, and mods will be automatically synchronized when you join a server.

And who knows, maybe this base model will make it in as an alien jackalope or something. Perhaps we'll see them again!

as a huge lover of birds, 90% of the concern against wind turbines being used for energy is literally just pro fossil fuel propaganda. birds ARE at a risk however there is a lot of strategies even as simple as painting one of the blades that reduces a lot of accidental deaths. additionally renewable energy sources will do more in favor of the environment that would positively impact birds (and all of us). one study found over one million bird deaths from wind turbines. while that is a shockingly high number and we should work to drastically shrink it, at least 1.3 billion birds die to outdoor cats on a yearly basis. it was never about caring about birds
