james baldwin was so right when he said “the children are always ours, every single one of them, all over the globe; and I am beginning to suspect that whoever is incapable of recognizing this may be incapable of morality.”

watchin some akira kurosawa movies and i could mention that they're good. and they are. or i could post a picture of toshiro mifune and we can all sigh dreamily together. alright three two one
the problem with being kind of unashamedly a weird guy is that its still kind of hurtful when people treat you like you’re weird. like yeah man I know you perceive me as very eccentric and an iconoclast but if you’re constantly reacting to me like I’ve grown two heads and said something totally insane every time I open my mouth. I uh. I am not gonna feel especially welcomed in your life. you know.
Me when I contact IT and tell them yes I restarted and followed any instructions I could but computer still angry and IT says they are escalating this because it is an actual issue: I am getting a good grade in service desk ticket. Something that is both normal to want and possible to achieve.

I'm pretty sure that as much as anything this skill boils down to frustration tolerance. I see people melting down at the first sign of needing to search for instructions all the time. Teaching them to get through it becomes as much about teaching them to handle the emotional experience of not knowing as anything else.
mads mikkelsen and robert pattinson need to do a movie together just because the promo interviews would be chaos personified
don't hide this in the tags say it loud and proud
Interviewer: So what makes this film good?
Rob: It sucks.
Mads: I haven’t seen it.
this is the hardest any photo has ever gone
touching grass isn't enough some of y'all need to drive out to the countryside and look at the stars
this post was aimed at the discourse-addled and terminally online, but i'm glad it's reaching an audience of people who are just excited about stargazing in general
great! now do the same medical study with women
Nothing more frustrating than talking about history with people on the internet who don't understand how averages work.
You'll be like "it's so tragic that this happened to this historical figure, she was so young", and some dipshit will be like "um actually the average life expectancy was only like 35 in those days so she really wasn't that young for the time at all 😌", and you have to explain that that "average life expectancy" is heavily skewed by the incredibly high infant and child mortality rate of the time, and that people who lived to adulthood and lived normal lives did in fact usually live to their 60s or older. Elderly people did in fact exist in the old days.
notice how everyone is horny today
this may be totally incomprehensible to post-9/11 country music listeners but there was a time country music was only about smoking weed and going to jail
country music 40 years ago: I have warrants out in 7 counties. I’m on the run after killing my boss. I’m crossfaded on pot and whiskey. My wife is leaving me. Government is failing us. The cops suck.
country music now: Nothing bad ever happens in small towns. I love drinking ice cold beer and driving around in my $50k truck. Friday night football!
Same vibe
