I think its really fascinating how the memes relating to current world events will be used in the future by historians very likely. They are permanent records of how people felt about things! That’s very amazing!

I'll be posting some ACAB memes in the morning, and breaking down some of the meme format's history. I hate cops, but I do love a good meme analysis. :)
Begining of the year Middle of the year
Adoring this new meme format.
I am currently studying memes academically. I thought you might enjoy the current proposed “ages” of internet memes
OP please post the link to the academic journal or the paper when your research gets published
You can actually get paid for this???? I'm very interested
not to be like anti-neurotypical or whatever but adhd people with hyperfixtations and autistic people with special interests are like, literally the core of any fandom. all those fics and comics and askblogs that update daily with no signs of stopping? those theory and other fandom blogs that post content so often you wonder how much free time they have? listen, it’s amazing what you can get done when it’s literally the only thing you fucking think about. appreciate your local autistic/adhd content creators.
PREACH
In memes where text or panels are edited the originals are always the funniest, case in point:
Sometimes it gets to the point where it is hard to believe there is an original!
no earth spoilers please, i’m only up to the cambrian explosion
i’m really loving these new dinosaur characters, i hope they stick around awhile
oh fuck off
I love this - its a good example of "turned a fandom funny into a general funny"
I stand firmly by this.
If you think it's "cringey", its likely harmless. Let people have fun, and stop being a used dildo.

I love this level of surreal bullshit. You can only get this on Tumblr.
i find it ironic how a lot of popular horror artists are pretty nice people while there’s a high chance pastel blog will call you a slur
Nature is beautiful
This is very true especially on Tumblr. Its mostly because pastel bloggers stem from the "aesthetic" part of tumblr. Before tumblr now, it was "Fandom" half & "Hipster/aesthetic" half.
Both sides did have their toxic parts, but hipster/aesthetic was mostly just cis white girls trying their best to live aesthetic lives.
Once the divides came down, and all of tumblr got stirred together like one big cesspool cauldron, we ended up with pastel bloggers that will call you a slur.
Violence moodboard
hell on earth
Moodboards as a meme format have an incredible amount of potential.
Reaction images for stealing a meme - not made by me.
Due to memes being reposted again and again, it is very hard to credit any one user for them, unlike artwork. These specific ones may be nigh impossible to find the creator for.
More of my horseshit, feat. Meme classifications I use & a current tumblr meme
My lemon car rant on discord.
Love a good old fashioned surreal meme. Future historians are going to go through hell, but also: memes give a deep insight into cultures at the time of their creation. How did these people cope with what was happening to them?
In these times, people turn to abstract humor to cope. It's funny because you domt get it. There is no punchline. Someone made it for the sheer fuck of it all and here we are, surreal memes.
The fact that jokes/memes on Tumblr often go over the heads of people who havent been here for years is fascinating.
This website has developed its very own personality; one that tanks its own value due to the fact that this site is full of capitalism-hating gay bastards. (I am one of those capitalism-hating gay bastards.)
Therefore, if you seek to be any kind of internet famous, tumblr is by far the worst. Unless you want to be famous for serving up bullshit.
Frankly, this website has a lot of potential. A lot of stuff gone from other popular platforms. A lot of stuff that people want to imitate and fail trying to do. But due to the culture of this shithole, it's nigh impossible for any outside entity to enter & do anything with.
Image related; its the essence of this website.
This is where I'll be saving infodumps about meme culture. Feel free to ask about specific memes, or just simply follow.
I hope that one day, my bullshit is useful to some historian somewhere. :)
