Telling someone 'no' when you have a boundary is actually doing them a huge favor. Cool people will love you for this. People who are angry or weird about this are not worth caring about at all, and they are the ones being rude to YOU no matter what anyone says.
frolicking with mama :)
ID. a looping gif drawn to look like an ink illustration of a foal prancing in circles around its grazing mother. End ID.
changing your gender to win an argument is always morally correct because if their argument is defeated simply by saying it to a genderfluid person it was a shit argument to begin with
one time I was playing a party card game with some people, and one player used a card on someone that could only target female players, so the targeted player (who is genderfluid and was identifying as a woman at that moment) changed gender at instant speed to make the card fizzle and it sparked an argument that lasted over an hour
there is no moral to this story i think its just crazy that happened
the moral is that shit's funny
Fun fact: in magic the gathering it has been officially ruled you *can* indeed change gender at instant speed to counter the effect of the card Sex Appeal
Additional fun fact: this ruling is derived from the ruling that says you are allowed to take off your pants in response to being attacked by a card who cannot be blocked if you are wearing denim.
the rituals are so, so intricate
went into a wine shop the other day to buy pasta and they did not have pasta but they were doing a wine tasting so i thought what the hell. and got to chatting with the other woman there because we had both just come from the library and were comparing our books and sipping wine and turns out we’re both teachers so we got on the topic of phones in classrooms—and the guy pouring our wine was like ‘that’s actually a point of contention in one of my divorces right now.’
and i very delicately said ‘one of your divorces?’ and his eyes got really big and he said I’M A PARALEGAL

Love how Tucker Carlson is on there not for being a huge racist asshole bigot but because he expressed mild criticism when people he interviewed were glazing Israel.
These are the same people who didn't bat an eye at Musk doing the Nazi salute, but of course, the woman who believes that children deserves to live is a greater threat to the settler state.
Just so we're all clear about Zionist logic.
The man who gave a literal Nazi salute on stage is not on this list. But Ms Rachel is an antisemite because she said it's bad to kill kids.
We need to stop allowing Zionists to be a voice when it comes to the conversation around antisemitism. They have ruined the meaning of the word
i love dykes and i hate cops

it's kind of crazy climate change has occurred at such a remarkable pace that I and everyone else around my age can remember a completely different climate in our childhoods. I truly watched winter gradually disappear in my life.
"You're too young to remember this, but there used to be so many insects outside that you would have to clean them off the windshield after a long car ride" is the kind of sentence that would have been in a cheesy scifi short story earlier in my life, perhaps submitted to a literary magazine and accepted to show support for its environmentalist message - now it's something I've said in earnest.
i hate how widely mocked the free the nipple thing is like even among leftists. like yeah i do think its bizarre to frame a bare chest as inherently sexual for half of the population and perfectly fine and neutral for the other half. i think this should be seen as like 101 frankly
fyi was watching the news at my parents' house and the way he's being described by mainstream news outlets is as "someone who reached across the aisle to try to engage progressives in healthy debate" and it's absolutely imperative that we do not let him be remembered in this way. we are not going to revise history and pretend he has ever done anything other than lob logical fallacy after logical fallacy at a bunch of college kids so he can clip it into flashy videos for his youtube channel. he did not argue in good faith, he did not try to find common ground with liberals or lefties, he would sit in an auditorium for hours dodging questions or making ad hominem arguments or bringing up non sequiturs until his time was up. there was no intellectual engagement happening here. I think it was probably a fun debate exercise for the college students to be able to identify logical fallacies in action, but nothing of substance was being argued or discussed or acquiesced upon. his two goals were to make fun of libtards and to give young white men nazi talking points coated in a veneer of social acceptance.
Let’s not forget his third goal: to groom and indoctrinate girls and young women into becoming submissive wives and willing victims of domestic abuse, including reproductive coercion. Source
People really still act like fascism is a thing of the past. Colonialism wasn't that long ago because my mother lived under it (I'm 27). I am a queer woman from an immigrant family born and raised in Atlanta. The KKK is very much alive it is not a boogey man!! Growing up In the south as far leftist as you can get... seeing people get married at plantation houses, having the KKK adopt a part of the highway near my hometown, having my high school force me to have a volunteer day at plantation houses. Meanwhile acting like immigrants are uneducated and backwards. However, my grandfather had a high school education, had to serve under the Australian army, and was living under colonialism, but still advocated for women's education and liberation in a third world country.
I'm just so tired of people in LA/NY acting like elitists who like they are better than the "ignorant red-neck hicks of the south".
"I would never-"
You would if you were tired enough. You would if you were hungry enough. You would if your mind and body had been worn down enough, through pain or disease or toil or violent struggle. You might if you were put on the wrong medicine, or you got the wrong kind of head injury, or you were forced to choose between someone else and yourself. You might if your livelihood was staked on it, or all your hopes and dreams. You might if you didn't know what else to do, if it's what you were taught or if nobody taught you anything else.
I have not been worn down in most of these ways. I have lived a remarkably privileged life. But I have been worn down in some ways. And they were enough to teach me that in the wrong circumstances, any of us can become someone we don't want to be. It's worth keeping that in mind.
