Sun Chariots were used by the bronze eyed children of raptor god in their conquest of the continent. Unlike a four wheeled, heavily armoured war-wagons of Unu’ki those two wheeled chariots were a great example of manoeuvrability on the battlefield.

Pulled by a pair of stocky steppe horses, decorated with animal skins, bells and hunting trophies, they usually carried an equipage of two - a driver and a bowman. The latter usually being a nobleman carrying in himself a descent ammount of the raptor god’s seed, which was believed to give them inhuman eyesight, and above average strength to pull the bowstring.

Just a dozen of such chariots, could send a deadly rain of arrows on the ranks of those standing in their way, swiftly retreating out of the close combat range where they could be interferred by pikemem, right after, and than returning to continue harrasing the enemy, untill few survivors retreat.

Militias of the early farmer societies and other nomadic hunter-gatherers that had no mastery over horses, as well as their gods were no match for the sun-chariots and the archers atop of them, often lead into battle by the regal raptors themselves, and in the span of just a couple centuries the entire continent, from the esstward steppes, to the end of the world in the west was under the control of the different bronze-eyed warlords, with only citadels of Unuki, and the Black delta Kingdom over the Great Waters staying out of their reach.

A race of bird deities from my new (and i hope longliving) worldbuilding project Opus Dei.

Sky father also known as The Eagle of the Vast Blue was one of the first formless spirits to fragment off the Demiurge in the times unknown gaining his a consciousness of his own in the process. Soon, he had found himself people to rule over, in the vast steppes far to the east from the civilisations of Unuki in the cedar mountains, and the fertile lands of the Black Kingdom, over the narrow sea. Those people were a loose confederation of pastoralist nomads that preferred staying away from the dwellings of the settled folk.

Devus Phatr and his children Owl eyed Nekhtu and twin warriors Ausr and Dausr, were the ones to lead the migration of those nomads in their conquest to the the western end of the world. Those people were known for their bronze colored eyes, that saw clearly those things far away both in space and time, and their rumbling chariots decorated with bronze and colored stripes.

Even as the sky father’s flok grew in numbers, settling all over the lend, mixing with local peoples, and starting to speak new tongues. Even as many new generations of gods were born, and he and his children disappeared from peoples memory, there still were fragments of eagle eyed gods in them in their cultures. From the golden eyes, that signified an augur in a newborn child, to the beaks, and claws that were a sign of mighty heroes and soon to become kings - all those were blossoms of the Sky father’s seed.

There he stands, in the ancient past, observing the aftermath of his peoples conquest, with his axe, made of Mon-Tree’s branch, and a bronze shield glowing as the sun itself.
