In response to overwhelming aggressive police tactics in the New York City subways, a large protest was organized by Decolonize This Place to demand police accountability. In Brooklyn, 19-year-old Adrian Napier was held at gunpoint by a swarm of a dozen police officers, who pointed their weapons at the young man, causing commuters to run away in mass panic because they feared for their lives. In another incident in Brooklyn, video surfaced showing NYPD officers repeatedly beating and punching young teens in the face and tackling them to the ground. This aggressive enforcement is due to the “anti-fare evasion” campaign that is being pushed by Governor Andrew Cuomo and the MTA. Thousands of activists took to the streets in Brooklyn, NY to demand no more cops and justice for those who have been killed and harmed by the hands of the police. #blacklivesmatter
