Hi! I’m writing a Finrod-centric fic and I was wondering if I could borrow your Quenya name for Edrahil—that is, Latyahile. Would that be all right? I’d give you credit and I can tag you when it’s posted! (I have no idea how soon it’ll be done though, lol.)

It is worth noting that it is literally just my attempt at translating Edrahil into Quenya- Edra -> Latya (open) hil->hilya (follow) +ë as a quenya name suffix. So you're welcome to credit (or blame!) me for the translation work (because I very well might be wrong!), but I definitely didn't make it up.

I appreciate the breakdown of how you formed it, that’s cool :D I do similar things with making or translating names, just take parts from Elfdict/Parf Edhellon and put them together in an attempt to make a reasonable-sounding name.

This is a rewrite of my very first Silm fanfic, which I wrote a long time ago after reading The Silmarillion for the first time. (I just managed to finish the rewritten fic by the end of 2025 to squeeze it in so that I published it 10 years later! XD) I worked on the rewrite sporadically during 2025; it took a while, but I was determined to finish it. I’ve become a much better writer over the last several years, and so while the original story beats still hold in this rewrite (e.g., Maglor worrying about the meeting), the rewritten version is better quality writing.

@kusuri2013 your fan art of Maglor meeting young Elladan and Elrohir (this one) was one of the first pieces of Silmarillion art I ever saw, and it inspired me to write the fic in the first place. (At the time I first wrote it, I was not active in online fandom whatsoever, so I didn’t reach out back then.) I wanted to express my gratitude to you for making the beautiful artwork in the first place and inspiring me. Thank you ❤️

I’ll take 1.5–2% credit, considering I spammed them along with you and with two different blogs. (I’m also glad I know the Changes blog exists now; that’s good to keep in mind for the future.)

Also the UI change we spammed them about was specifically the edit and delete functions, not the comments/reblogs/likes separation (or, at least, I didn’t spam about the latter)
