Tea Time with the ladies in Jaheira’s house is a post-BG3 HC I had in my head.

It’s basically just Shadowheart being dropped by Balehrys in Jaheira’s house for tea. This is probably years after and Karlach is fixed and all, Jaheira’s retired, Lae’zel coming as some astral projection and Minthara as I said before is a thriving political figure in Baldur’s Gate

GTA Minthara 🕸 I had A LOT of requests to draw Minthara and I gladly obeyed. I love this woman so much. It was a very fun trend to draw and I hope I'm not too late with the second piece (I'm so slow artist, sorry)

My hc of a younger Minthara «puppy eyes» Baenre based on her early access version. I imagine she was also a very different person to when we first meet her in the game.

She seemed a bit more "open-minded" (for lolthite drow standarts) at times and that's how I imagine she used to be long ago, until her abusive mother molded her into someone who presents and acts in a way more befitting a proper daughter of house Baenre.

I emphasise a lot on Skjære's relationship with his father because I set his upbringing as a foil to Minthara and her mother.

While Skjære had a loving parent (who would maybe be deemed "abusive" by lolth drow standarts) who saved him from a lifetime of pain and insanity as a drider. Minthara had a mother that tormented and molded her into a mad, bitter, and bloodthirsty creature in her own way as a form of «setting her up for success»

srb soz but i legitimately think this mentality of ‘everyone is meat for Lolth’s pleasure and not a person’ sums up Lolthite culture so succinctly… like there is no amount of status you can be born into or amass that will guarantee your safety because your life is subject to the whims of a cruel and capricious goddess. literally just look at Danifae from the War of the Spider Queen series: she was born a drow noblewoman and yet despite basically having as much safety as a drow possibly can on the basis of gender and social class, she was still victimized by a drow man with lower status than her and then later enslaved and sex trafficked by a priestess.

like udadrow just are never safe no matter how desperately they scrabble for power to protect themselves. there’s no winning when you’re under Lolth’s thumb

it is so funny when you realize that by drow standards, especially drow noble house and ESPECIALLY Baenre standards, Minthara is the woke liberal

She is willing to work with men in leadership positions even post-mind control and she will actually compliment and admire their tyrannical prowess

She will argue that the refugees in Baldur’s Gate should be enslaved because it’s practical and better for them that way, not because they’re weak lesser races that deserve to be subjugated

Like she probably gets called a libtard at Spider Thanksgiving every year while all her relatives are trying to poison each other
