Tim's entire inner monologue, the way he treats his friends (well just tam in this case lmao) is so damn perfect I can't. AND you portray the grey area in parenting SO WELL.
Like I personally hate the "drakes are abusive" narrative but I don't think they were perfect, and you caught that so perfectly I'm acc in shock. Don't even get me started on Bruce. His entire character is so perfect.
Also I know their wasn't much of damian, but god, you perfected the child part of "child assassin" cause he littrely acted like a kid. Which he is. And I don't think he's portrayed like that much and it kills me cause he's a littrely just a child, not a monster.
OMG STEPH IS SO PERFECT. like that is exactly what I want from a character.

I did lean more into an abusive version of his parents since there is physical abuse and not only neglect, but I also dislike how Tim's parents are often portrayed in fandom it's just so off. In the comics it's a lot more nuanced, and Tim loves his parents so much it doesn't make sense for them to be super evil. Also I wanted to lighten things up a little because my fic gets angsty quick haha I'm happy it comes off as well balanced. A few of Tim's earlier memories are somewhat my own, especially with Janet since I've always been close to my mom and I love her lots, and I remember re-reading it and being surprised at how much of that came through in my writing, so I think that helped a lot :))) I'm so glad you like Bruce he is the absolute hardest character to write (there’s a tiny ass POV in chapter 12 and guess which section of the chapter has been impossible for me to write and is the entire reason for why it’s not finished yet). With Tim I can get away with being more emotional, but Bruce??? He's a very analytical character and it gets sooo hard to try and place emotions in there.
THANK YOU! I absolutely love Damian and I hate how his character is just depicted as evil all the damn time. HE'S A CHILD. a brainwashed child as well, in a new environment. I'll admit I haven't read much source material with his origins in it so it's harder to get how he was in the beginning, but I figured that Tim could be a little more sympathetic to him since Damian wasn't attempting murder every other day. Damian is such a complex character and I think his entrance into the batfam is often written off or very generic and like no!!! Yes he’s a brat but he's also a child in a new environment feeling threatened by his older siblings and with no backup, all the while everything he's been taught is said to be wrong, of course he's lashing out. So I'm pretty happy that Tim and Damian are chill with each other in the new run haha
I absolutely love Steph and I think that her being from the 90s/early 2000s is so underused like you know she was a baddie.
