Also, seriously, y'all – blackberry gin. Throw a carton of blackberries in a mason jar, buy some cheap gin, infuse for a week, and enjoy the most delicate, unexpectedly floral lilac-colored drink around. It completely transforms even the most dubious gin and rounds off the harsh edges – what a lovely thing. 10/10 would recommend. Home infusions are always the way to go, and gin beats vodka (no matter how cheap and cruddy) almost every time for additional depth of flavor and less harsh burn.
Saving for reference.
Good idea for ancestral offerings
I was just looking at the blackberry bush out my window and wondering what I should do with the black berries this year.
may I join the worms?
hello,
Thank you for your interest, and yes you may. Simply just go outside and get in dirt. Thanks
“I’m 87 years old…I only eat so I can smoke and stay alive.. The only fear I have is how long consciousness is gonna hang on after my body goes. I just hope there’s nothing. Like there was before I was born. I’m not really into religion, they’re all macrocosms of the ego. When man began to think he was a separate person with a separate soul, it created a violent situation.
The void, the concept of nothingness, is terrifying to most people on the planet. And I get anxiety attacks myself. I know the fear of that void. You have to learn to die before you die. You give up, surrender to the void, to nothingness.
Anybody else you’ve interviewed bring these things up? Hang on, I gotta take this call….. Hey, brother. That’s great, man. Yeah, I’m being interviewed… We’re talking about nothing. I’ve got him well-steeped in nothing right now. He’s stopped asking questions.”

I think the reason Homestuck has such staying power is that deep down, every millennial has two warring wishes - to become a cool hero and make a new perfect world with your best friends, or to be struck by a big space rock, killing us instantly.
honestly “i’ll do whatever you want” “then perish” is the single most powerful exchange possible in the english language and it’s from some bizarre “hewwo” obama rp
And there was that other post where someone dreamt that Obama said “violence for violence is the rule of beasts” like what is it about Obama that makes people come up with such raw fucking dialogue for him
my mother had a dream where he lived in the forest and she had a cigarette with him and he said “to become god is the loneliest achievement of them all” and put it out and walked into the mist and i’ve never fucking forgotten that
I once dreamed that a giant meteor was headed for earth, and the government had set up loudspeakers throughout the cities so Obama could give a final address - I’ll never forget how strangely comforting it was when he said “there are places we’ve never been before. Some of us have never been to the Alps, some of us have never been to Marrakesh. The next life is simply another place we’ve never been before, and we’re all going to go explore it together.”
I had a dream my family housed the Obamas for a weekend and one morning Obama made us oatmeal for breakfast and, looking at my disappointed face because I don’t like oatmeal, he said “regardless of what we taste, if we eat together, we are happy.”
been drawing more of that su/ off crossover as a stress reliever. they’re nothing more than rlly self indulgent doodles so dont take them seriously lol

you know what’s legitimately unsettling
finding out that you can’t see most of the corona discharge that goes on around high-voltage electrical equipment, because it’s in the UV range
but animals can
and it looks like this
here’s another one
consider the fact that this is a thing that happens and you have no idea it’s happening
You know what I REALLY LOVE about that? It looks like cheap 1950s-60s Sci-Fi B-Movie film effects :|
Like: Put THAT in a movie, and folks would say, “Why’d they do these particular effect on the cheap like that?”
Also: the technician speaking in that second vid has a very soothing voice u_u

Sara Kipin
The modern-day fairytales of Sara Kipin combine digital crispness with classical themes of sacrifice, conflict and undying love. Although her drawing signature is clean and stylized, the elegant character designs and detailed landscapes breathe a magical sense of nostalgia. Sara’s determined lady knights and sassy witches make you wish for them to come to life in an animated feature all their own.

Chain mail was an essential tool for medieval warriors hoping to avoid a quick (or slow) death by a sword. But NASA engineers hope a similar material, with a few modern upgrades, could prove to be just as useful for spacecraft and astronauts looking to survive the rigors of outer space.
I need me some of that space future armor.
Here’s the JPL post with more info!
“We are just scratching the surface of what’s possible,” Shapiro-Scharlotta said. “The use of organic and non-linear shapes at no additional costs to fabrication will lead to more efficient mechanical designs.”
My favorite thing about this is that it’s basically what Klingon armor looks like.
The future is now and it’s Klingons.

OH MY GOD
Well, that was unexpected.

ok I’ve seen this like 8 times on my dash and ignored it but now I finally watched it because I was like “okay this has to be SOMETHING good because everyone I fucking follow is reblogging it” I was not fucking let down at all.

Talking with writers online
Their stories: Amazing grammar, soaring vocabulary, beautiful imagery and prose which flows like a river.
In chats: no capitalisation or punctuation, swears like a sailor, misspellings everywhere, acronyms and abbreviations every five words, idek

For medievalists or anyone with more than a passing interest, the most unusual element of the Voynich manuscript – Beinecke Ms. 408, known to many as “the most mysterious manuscript in the world” – is its handwritten text. Although several of its symbols (especially the ligatures) are recognizable, adopted for the sake of economy by the medieval scribes, the words formed by its neatly grouped characters do not appear to correspond to any known language. It was long believed that the text was a form of code – one which repeated attempts by cryptographers and linguists failed to penetrate. As someone with long experience of interpreting the Latin inscriptions on classical monuments and the tombs and brasses in English parish churches, I recognized in the Voynich script tell-tale signs of an abbreviated Latin format. But interpretation of such abbreviations depends largely on the context in which they are…
This is the most plausible and comprehensive explanation of the Voynich Manuscript I’ve ever encountered.
*Frantic, frenzied, excited medievalist shouting*
I mean, ahem. That’s pretty cool and seems to be a valid interpretation.
Are you trying to fucking tell me that we unmasked the author of My Immortal and translated the Voynich Manuscript in the same fucking week?
Jesus H Christ is 2017 even real?
Oooooooooooh my god
you know, i have even thought to myself, “that kinda looks like shorthand.”
