Possible Jax and Pomni/Ribbit parallel:
The first screenshot is from the stargazing adventure in Episode 5. The second is from the trailer for Episode 9.
I've seen a decent amount of discussion on the scene in Beach Episode where Zooble and Gangle have a conversation in Caine's office, especially on Jax's reaction to said conversation. The most common reading among the TADC subreddits that I saw was that Jax, triggered by Zooble and Gangle reaffirming how much they mean to each other, started remembering something about his relationship with Ribbit and began to hyperventilate.
I have a bit of a different theory on Jax’s reaction, however. Here's the transcript of the conversation for reference:
Gangle: A-Are... Are we still gonna be friends when we're... out there?
Zooble: Why wouldn't we be?
Gangle: It's just... gonna be strange. I've only known you like this. Will it be the same when it's... real?
Zooble: It always was real. Everything we felt. Everything we've done. Everything we are. It'll never leave us. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
Gangle: (laughs and sniffles) Thank you... for always being there when I needed. (laughs tearfully as Jax pants softly.)
I personally don't believe Jax's reaction is mainly because their conversation is bringing up thoughts of Ribbit, I think he's actually reacting to what Zooble is saying: the possibility that everything they felt, done, and are was real.
Jax’s coping mechanism depends on three assumptions: that the Circus isn’t real, that the others aren’t fully people, and that his actions therefore have no lasting moral weight. Zooble's words directly challenge all three at once. This is why I think he responded so viscerally to this conversation. Their conversation threatens the one belief that allows him to function in the Circus: that nothing here truly matters. If Jax actually considers this possibility, that everything they experienced was real, then so was the harm he caused. He has been mistreating real people that were trapped in this situation with him for years. All of the cruelty and abuse that he inflicted on others as a “joke” would be recontextualized in his mind.
Accepting Zooble’s perspective would mean accepting that the people he’s treated as playthings were real people all along, and that’s something Jax just isn’t prepared to face yet.
The group photo of Ribbit, Jax, and Kaufmo that we saw in Jax's room in Beach Episode looks to have all three of them holding mugs of hot chocolate in what appears to be a kitchen. This photo might have been taken during the snow adventure that was briefly featured in Caine's office, the adventure that Jax was staring at in a saddened, reminiscing way.

There's an old black train a-coming Scrapin' 'long the iron You don't need no ticket, boys It'll take you when it's time

It's been five years since the animated series Infinity Train debuted, and it's been three since it was canceled. Not only has the studio, HBO Max, not renewed it for a fifth season on the flimsy basis that the series' stories and themes were too dark and unappealing to children, but has also removed Infinity Train from its streaming service and digital purchase platforms.
Despite the unjust treatment this show has been saddled with, we can still celebrate Infinity Train and all it accomplished. For people reading this that haven't seen it yet, each season (or "book") follows a different protagonist navigating a seemingly endless, magical train, where each car is its own unique world, challenging passengers with puzzles and personal revelations. This setup allows the show to explore complex themes like identity, trauma, guilt, and forgiveness. The series excels in character development and often presents morally complex figures who grow in surprising ways. It's considered a rare gem in animation and highly regarded for its mature portrayal of emotional hardship. The series' vibe is similar to Over the Garden Wall, Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, and The Mitchells vs. the Machines. For fans of this, I highly recommend this show.
If you would like to legally support Infinity Train and its creator, Owen Dennis, Book 1 & Book 2 are separately available on DVD. If you would like to see all four books, they can be purchased individually on Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, iTunes, Sky TV Apple TV, Vudu, Now TV, and Google Play. Please always consider these options before piracy. There's a better chance of this series coming back in some shape or form if we focus on boosting official views.
If you can't afford to purchase Infinity Train officially, or if you live in an area where the show isn't available to you, there's a Google Drive of the entire series available. There's also another Google Drive available for all of the archived bonus features of the show, like the official pilot and videos of Owen Dennis' commentary.
Thank you, everybody, for checking this post out. I'm planning on doing something like this every year on the first of November just to remind everyone that this show still exists. Please share this around and consider participating in this trend; Infinity Train deserves to be remembered.

57 Years Ago On This Day...
Frame 350, The Patterson-Gimlin Film, 1967
...
On October 20, 1967, Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin were traveling approximately northeast on horseback along the east bank of Bluff Creek in Northern California. They had spent around three weeks in this area exploring, looking for tracks, taking footage of the scenery, and setting up camp in different locations. At sometime between 1:15 and 1:40 p.m., they came to an overturned tree with a large root system at a turn in the creek. When they rounded it, they both spotted a large figure behind it nearly simultaneously on the opposite side of the bank. Upon the sight of this unknown being, Patterson's horse reared in fear. Roger managed to steady it, remove himself from the saddle, and grab his camera from a saddlebag. The footage captured, later dubbed the Patterson-Gimlin film, showed an unknown subject of seemingly primate origin briskly walking along the bank of the creek and disappearing into a nearby forest. 57 years later, after more than half a century of advancement in film and costume technology — this footage has yet to be officially debunked.
