Love how tumblr has its own folk stories. Yeah the God of Arepo we’ve all heard the story and we all still cry about it. Yeah that one about the woman locked up for centuries finally getting free. That one about the witch who would marry anyone who could get her house key from her cat and it’s revealed she IS the cat after the narrator befriends the cat.
Might I add:
The defeat of the wizard who made people choose how they’d be to be executed
The woman who raised the changeling alongside her biological child
The human who died of radiation poisoning after repairing the spaceship
The adventures of a space roomba
Cinderella finding Araura (and falling in love)
I don’t know a snappy description but the my nemesis cynthia story certainly lives in my head
hilariously, these are almost all in my fic tag. so, a compiled list from the notes (and some extras):
The God of Arepo (graphic novel 1 / 2 / 3) (ebook)
The Monster of Sentan
The Witch’s Cat
Raise Both Children
Stabby the Roomba (honorable mention)
Cinderella Marries the Prince (comic)
My Arch Nemesis Cynthia
Pirates and Mermaid
Eindred and the Witch
The Demon King
The Cornerwitch
Grandmother Beetroot
Apocalypse Daycare Worker
Grandmother Accidentally Summons a Demon
New Year Saga
A Story About Changelings
Ranger in the King’s Forest
The Difference Between a Hare and a Rabbit
Goblin Men (Canines)
I am in love with you /p
The curtains were blue because everything in the room was carefully colour coordinated, reinforcing the character’s stylish and controlled characterisation. The curtains were blue because everything in the room was a different colour, reinforcing the character’s eclectic and globe-trotting personality. The curtains were blue because the character is elsewhere established to hate the colour blue, subtextually implying that their deceased spouse was responsible for that decoration choice.
The curtains were blue because throughout their filmography the director consistently uses cool tones to mark moments of distance between characters. The curtains were blue to tie the events in that room into the broader oceanic motif of this particular novel. The curtains were blue because the assonance evoked a contrast with the following stanza of the poem.
Even the curtains looked expensive: floor to ceiling velvet drapes, in a flawless royal blue. She tucked the saucer up on the windowsill and tied back faded blue curtains with a loop of string. The narrow blinds were the same navy blue as the pinstripe suit of the man who served eviction notice that sent them to this office.
The curtains were blue because the author’s childhood home had blue curtains, which they discussed in their letters related to their feelings of comfort in that place. The curtains were blue because the author’s childhood home had blue curtains, which they discussed in their letters related to their feelings of grief in that place.
The curtains were blue as an allusion to the contemporary joke about literary criticism, an extension of the author’s autocritical approach that will be further discussed in section seven.
The curtains were red, as a pun on;
The curtains were read.
America has a weird relationship with cults where they’re terrified of small cults (or organizations they think are cults) but completely normalized massive cults that hurt many more people (eg: LDS Church, Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Amish, Scientology, most Megachurches)
To anybody asking if the Amish are a cult, the answer is yes, very much so.
They’re a high control group that isolate you from society. The cult decides how you dress, how you behave, who you marry and how. They control what you know, blocking all information from the outside world. They control how you feel and what you’re allowed to think with threats of both social and supernatural harm. They’re a cult.
The best method to determine if a group is a cult, in my opinion, is Steven Hassan’s (cult expert and former cult member himself) BITE model.
BITE stands for Behavior Control, Information Control, Thought Control, and Emotional Control.
The more points a group “scores” on the model, the more of a cult it is.
I think this model is the best one for several reasons:
It’s more nuanced than “cult” or “not cult” and doesn’t make false equivalences between groups
It’s versatile, applying to groups big and small, and cults of all kinds, religious, political, financial, etc.
It focuses on what’s important, which is what the cult does to its members, and those members’ experiences, and not on irrelevant details like how uncommon their doctrines are or whether they have a charismatic leader
This is a great example of Thought Control used by cults whenever they’re confronted with criticism.
#you might notice that there are a lot of similarities between cult techniques and those of abusive partners#and that is an important thing to be aware of
yah that goes in the post

The site is '12ft Ladder' found here:
Show me a 10ft paywall, I’ll show you a 12ft ladder.
Tag Yourself as a Neotheater Song (Aka a Callout Post Depending On What Your Favorite Neotheater song is, aka what Neotheater Song you should listen to if you vibe with one of the descriptions
Next Up Forever: You're scared of change, either hate or hated the concept of growing up, you still watch Disney Channel Cartoons (complimentary) honestly just keep vibing man
Birthday Party: You're super cynical of the world, probably a socialist, thinks the Bernie memes are hilarious, you probably need to spend more time talking to other people, go out and do something fun & socially distanced
100 Bad Days: You're probably an optimist and stubborn as shit, your perseverance is very impressive tho
Don't Throw Out My Legos: You probably have anxiety and need to just relax man. There's good in the world, just keep being you and things'll be fine ;)
Break My Face: You're the mom friend that takes better care of your friends than yourself, chillax and don't forget to take care of yourself, drink some water or something
Turning Out Pt. ii: Tbh, you probably have commitment issues and/or trouble communicating particularly when it comes to expressing your feelings. Either that or it's probably real easy to peer pressure you
The Entertainment's Here: Hyperfixate much? Yeah, that's what I thought. You probably can't fall asleep without making up fantasy scenarios in your head
Karma: Stop overworking yourself!!! The world will not end if you take a break to sit and relax sometimes!! Just chill bro, it'll be okay. Also stop helping people that take advantage of you! That's a toxic relationship babe
Beats: You're probably a middle child and are afraid of being forgotten. It's okay man, not everything is go big or go home
Wow, I'm Not Crazy: Bruh, no need to psychoanalyze everything all the time, sometimes the curtains are blue because the author liked the color blue, go read some 19th/early 20th century literature and take a nap
Dear Winter: You've personally adopted a bunch of fictional characters and would probably be cool with raising a bunch of children in a cottagecore setting in the woods
Finale (Can't Wait To See What You'll Do Next): Stop trying to one up yourself/your friends!!! You don't have to be the best at everything just relax man

every drama i’ve seen so far ever pt.1
i’m not that new to k-dramas i just haven’t seen very many because i watch a lot of things so it’s spaced out over years
boys over flowers
2/5 stars
my first drama
it was great when i first watched it but definitely not good as a rewatch
will always have a place in my heart
the heirs
3/5 stars
i watched this because i wanted more Lee Min Ho
i really enjoyed it, it’s just a very basic stereotypical drama
my first case of second lead syndrome, Kim Woo-bin stole the show
strong girl bong-soon
5/5 stars
another case of second lead syndrome, Ji Soo is so hot in this
i just love the entire vibe of this drama
really cool concept and keeps you engaged
i haven’t seen this in a long time but from what i remember, it’s solid
oh my venus
4/5 stars
another cool premise
main guy is super alluring
there’s more to focus on than the main relationship
is very refelective
my first, first love
2/5 stars
idk how to put this but i was so incredibly disappointed by this show
i had no interest in any of the romantic relationships with the lead
i really wanted a Ji soo lead drama but this fell flat for me
i didn’t see any chemistry between the leads and the second lead was just a terribly written character
the show’s premise was nice but the execution didn’t work
i watched both seasons but i could have gone without it
i didn’t even mind Ji soo’s character that much but the main female lead was not a good pairing for him
love alarm
5/5 stars
i really liked this show as a whole
the female lead has chemistry with both male leads
i wouldn’t be mad or dissappointed if she ended up with either
really cool premise
beautiful cinematography
broke a lot of unwritten kdrama rules and pulled it off successfully
the leads have a good dynamic
cinderella and the four knights
3/5
once again it follows th stereotypical kdrama model
i think i would have loved it more if i had watched earlier than i did
it made me fall in love with Park So Dam
i really liked the male lead, he did a good job portraying a more damaged character
very memorable
it was well written
bride of habaek
2/5
the premise was absolute flaming trash
it was a half assed premise with terrible execution
the second lead sucked
the absolute best part of this show was the chemistry between the leads and even that was lacking
Nam Joo-hyuk looked very good
i hated the cinematography, the script the premise, the side characters, the setting; basically everything
there were some good lois scenes and i like some scenes tho
moon lovers: scarlet heart ryeo
4/5
one of the most flushed out dramas i’ve ever seen
the leads have chemistry that is off the charts explosive
the drama that made me fall for IU
it takes you through all the emotions
it feels like you’re going through a journey as you watch
perfect cast all around
character developement for almost every character, some for the worse
i took a star off because i felt it could have been done with an episode or two off
it made me ball my eyes out like 5 times
the main cast is incredibly god at acting
crash landing on you
5/5
might be my favorite drama of all time
i literally didn’t have on complaint
the leads have great chemistry
the script is great
the premise is great
it didn’t drag at the end
it has the found family trope
the side characters are flushed out and entertaining
every scene was engaging
the side romance was just as good as the maini r
i experienced all ranges of emotions
the cinematography was just wow
i really enjoyed the female lead’s interactions with the male lead’s friends
the villain was also convincing
Advice for IGCSE English Literature
Hi there! So, I recently finished my final English Literature examination and I wanted to share some tips and resources! Hope you guys find them useful :)
Please note that not all of the tips provided below may suit you but I suggest trying some of them to see if they work :)
During the exam
1. Remember that you’re supposed to provide an ANALYSIS and not a summary for an answer
2. ADDRESS the question and only the question — it’s easy to drift away from it and ramble so watch out for that
3. Identify the KEY TERMS in the question and which sections of the poem/story/play you are going to use — for my mock examination, this was the question I received for the poetry section in Paper 1:
How does Hopkins vividly convey thoughts and feelings about the bird in The Caged Skylark?
the key terms here are “how” and “vividly convey” so focus on that when answering the question
4. Ensure that you have a sustained personal response throughout the paper — avoid making statements like “his/her work is quite brilliant” and try to focus more on the effect the author intended to evoke with a particular phrase/quotation and comment on how said phrase/quotation would affect the reader
5. WHY? — don’t just state that the writer has used imagery. Talk about WHY they used it in that particular moment in the piece and their intentions
6. ALWAYS mention the:
themes
tone: gloomy? lighthearted?
structure: this is especially important for poems
literary devices: imagery, repetition etc
7. You can also score more marks by commenting on parallels — it shows that you have a good critical understanding of the story and that you’re able to show individuality and insight!
8. Further to this, you can also mention contrasts in scenes and their impact on the overall effect of the piece
9. Don’t use lengthy quotations, examiners detest this!
10. Time — You’ll have two tasks in each paper so devote 45 minutes for each one and stick to this plan! It becomes really easy to add some extra points but it ultimately affects the quality of your second answer so avoid that at all costs! BALANCE your time!
Some websites I found useful:
1. https://www.enotes.com/ — I suggest typing the title of your story and “enotes” along with it for immediate results
2. http://sittingbee.com/ — like enotes, just type the title of the story and “sitting bee” along with it in the search bar
3. https://poemanalysis.com/educational-syllabus/cambridge-igcse-literature-english-0475-2020-21/
4. https://www.litcharts.com/
5. https://www.ibdocuments.com/LitCharts/ — this site contains litcharts guides which you can download free of charge!! it saves you a lot of money and hassle so I highly recommend it!
6. https://www.sparknotes.com/lit/
7. https://igcse.school.blog/category/literature/
8. https://igcserevision.wordpress.com/english/english-literature-0486/
Some extra tips:
1. I highly recommend going through as many notes or analyses online as you can! They really help you get different interpretations of the text from a variety of perspectives which widens your overall understanding. However, it’s important to ensure that you’re not too reliant on them as it restricts you from providing an informed personal response in your paper
2. Read on characters, especially for paper 2 because sometimes the questions are based on the character and their significance within the story
3. GET FEEDBACK FROM YOUR TEACHERS! — This is so important because when doing past papers and trying to mark them yourself, you’ll find that the mark schemes just provide a rubric for reference. So, try to do some past papers and get them marked by your teacher for some detailed feedback and so that you know which strategy is working for you and what you need to work on
4. Go through some example candidate responses — Cambridge provides multiple pdfs filled with different candidate responses and you can even see the examiner’s detailed comments on the common mistakes the candidate made and how they could have improved their answer! You can find some at this link: https://learning.cambridgeinternational.org/classroom/course/view.php?id=3198
5. Annotate your texts and focus on aspects of language, structure and form used to convey ideas or experiences — I usually avoid annotating since I don’t find it particularly helpful, but for literature, I focus on the important bits of the story/poem/play and note down a few points on the significance of that particular moment. It really helped making my revision for my final examination a LOT more easier since I could just skip to the parts where I had made the annotations and reinforce those concepts in my mind!
That’s all I have for now! I really hope this was helpful to anybody struggling with literature. If anyone has any other questions or more tips feel free to reblog or send me an ask/message! :)
