#1) The person who dragged up the pedophilia jokes about James Gunn is none other than far-right blogger Mike Cernowich. You know, the guy behind fucking #PIZZAGATE.
#2) James Gunn already apologized for previous behavior. Like, several years ago. In 2012. Before #MeToo. Before ANY of this. And his behavior since then proves a marked change.

#4) So Mike Cernovich finding and released all the old tweets during SDCC was NOT a coincidence. This was targeted to Disney, to see if Mike can wank himself over forcing the biggest major conglomerate to make a marketing decision in order to get ONE GUY rightfully furious about Trump out of the business.
#5) Look, I think James Gunn’s tweets are pretty damn horrible. But to put it on the same level as someone like Harvey Weinstein is disingenuous.

These celebrities’ (Gunn, Al Franken, even-yes-Spacey’s groping a minor and making some men uncomfortable, and fucking Weiner’s laptop), relatively minor (compared to actual rape murder theft) moral missteps have been hoarded by the wealthy right against those who dare to stand against them. They were released as strategic blows. The wealthy right wing enclaves have been boasting amongst themselves of their smear fodder, just as for long years before Obamacare voting they had been boasting amongst themselves about plans to shut down the government to block universal health care. This was their long term strategy: to injure the system that is our entire country to protect their immoral healthcare-for-profit system.
Everyone says __(fill-in-the-blank)_phobic remarks in their private spaces. Every human is somewhat racist. In the end, it’s what we do in the world that matters most. That’s one reason a free democracy has anti-surveillance laws. Stalker-blackmailers uncover shit but that’s only evidence of their own childish foulness. Yes, everyone poops. That someone seeks to expose people for pooping is pathetic.
However publicly accessible media is not private. Be warned: If you are outraged that someone with whom you don’t agree (for example, TERFS) is accessing your public posts, then you are already in making the same errors that Gunn made.
ok but like when did self-sacrifice become synonymous with death? writers seem to have forgotten that people can make personal sacrifices for the greater good without giving their lives. plots about self-sacrifice and selflessness don’t always have to end in death. suffering doesn’t have to be mourning. you can create drama and emotional depth on your show without killing everyone. learn to explore the meaning of living rather than dying
