Reblog if you’re Black for good luck
I’m agreeing with you on the lack of x black reader and inclusivity in general. but coming for people because they write the reader as femme and somehow correlating that to whiteness is a little weird. That person who got harassed argument was that the reader is always a “white coquette bitch”. I’m not coquette, but if I wanted to take on that aesthetic could I not because of my blackness? Be so fr. Femininity is not whiteness
not sure why you’re talking with me about this like i was the one who said femininity = whiteness. all i did was say try to be more inclusive—or at least find a way to be race neutral— and educate yourself. also, in my post, i never personally mentioned either of the writers by name, i was just saying that the fact that white people cannot take constructive criticism is weird, and the fact that people are taking it weirdly personally and creating fake pages to send racist hate is disgusting. i was addressing white writers in general as well as people who went as hard as they did to “defend” those two people when they didn’t necessarily need any defending. hope this makes sense.
I think a lot of creators were “dickriding” for those two writers because well… they read their work. I’m a black girl, i've seen a LOT of extremely non inclusive fanfics on here, and never from the two of them. If anything, they just write very hyperfemme, and it’s offensive that people think we cant be extremely feminine & black. I genuinely think people went after them specially because theyre popular on here. I follow a lot of the creators who were “dickriding” and most of them are black themselves. This is an important conversation to have, but just randomly pointing at two random people is not going to work. Most of the people who write those non inclusive fics barely get interactions on their fics, which is probably why they didn’t get called out.
i’m not really sure what your point was with this..
black and brown women have been an integral part of this community, from the jump. when my shit blew up a year ago, all of my mutuals were black and brown women who felt comfortable enough in their queerness to make something, albeit very fucking dumb and raunchy and lighthearted, and put it out here on this site because the tag was safe and it was okay to do so.
so to learn that we've backpedaled 114 steps where: fics just blatantly aren't very inclusive, policing the feelings of black and brown women on the topics of such is apparently okay (at a time where, now, the tag is fairly poc-writer dominated, to my knowledge), and to see that people have been receiving death threats and slurs in their inbox is honestly so beyond, that i am like, legitimately mortified.
i'm fucking embarrassed and disappointed in like, everyone. i'm disgusted by the complacency, i'm annoyed by the bigotry, and i really wish that things were not like this. this is so far from real life shit, but there are a lot of principal errors. a lot needs to change. fix it.
Hey babes 🫶, I'm not any on those anons but just to correct the last anon, there is a difference between being a poc and having a hispanic nationally. I'm latina and my grandparents were hispanics, and from where we came from we aren't considered people of color (us being naturally tan doesn't count.) Example:Camila Mendes is tan and brazilian but still white enough to not be considered a poc since she is not native or black
So the actress being white doesn't make sense to consider Dina a poc
(I hope i explained well, English is not my first language im sorry)
i have nothing to add to this, thank you for educating
you’ll never catch me NOT advocating for black women. never.
to all of the black writers / writers of color in this writing community: i just wanted to say i love you, and that i'm really sorry. this? was not like this last year.
i'm sorry that you have to see all of this, and i'm sorry if it uprooted anything in you. it is extremely disappointing on so many different fronts.
hold yourselves, take care of yourselves, and just be blessed tonight. i love you. it's a damn shame.
heavy on take care of yourselves!!!
Just noting to help out, dina is Italian Jewish (Nationality + religious beliefs, her families) specifically and talks in the game how her grandparents survived the holocaust and the apocalypse along with herself (now)
Her VA is hispanic as well, so she is poc they are just trying to be racist for the hell of it and now antisemitic
yeah, i figured. thank you for letting me know, i was genuinely confused there
not that one anon but she did make a vid on yt “an uncomfortable q&a” and the first question she reads out her ethnicity. she is caucasian woman 😭
i didn’t know that. thanks for letting me know.
dina is white, pls cascina caradonna is literally just italian. she said it herself 🤍
can you show me where she said that? and either way it doesn’t diminish the fact that ellie has dated a lot of poc her whole life lol
