A couple of old pencil renditions for her I did back in the day of my first year in vet med when I ought to be studying physiology instead. I mean, Discworld - the sweetest escape and procrastination there could be.
She's a w-!
I just love her..
One thing i end up finding annoying when looking up moths online after i see the name of one is that all the results end up being pictures of the Wings and Back of the Moth.
While its cool to see their particular pattern, i want to see more of the moth.
Using the Deathshead moth as an example, most results i see are the back of the moth, showcasing its patterns on its wings or the Skull on its back.
I dont want to see their wings, i want to see their peepers, their big ol eyes
Of all the pictures, this was one of the only ones that showed the face of the moth. But only partially. Don't know if i have a setting done wrong in my search engine, but i want to look at the dumb little faces of these Moths. Anyone can see a shape on the ground with a cool pattern, i want to look him in the eye and give him a big ol smooch
Deleted Tosche Station scene from A New Hope
OK I have like mutliple questions
a) who dis
2) why does he look like mustacheod Mads Mikkelson
III) what is happen
?) ARE THEY BOYFRIENDS?????
AHEM! *dons his lore cape*
This is Biggs Darklighter, Luke’s best buddy growing up on Tatooine. There was a big chunk of story cut from A New Hope where Luke looks up at the sky, sees the Star Destroyer and Princess Leia’s ship shooting at each other in orbit, and jumps in his landspeeder to tell his friends like an excited puppy.
He arrives at Tosche Station (from the infamous line “But I was gonna go to Tosche Station to pick up some power converters!”) and is surprised to find Biggs there, who had just gotten his certification from the Imperial Academy (mentioned in the line “That’s what you said when Biggs and Tank left” when Luke was trying to coax Uncle Owen into applying). Luke drags everyone outside to look but by that time the two ships have stopped shooting, so they write it off as Excitable Dumbass Luke getting his dumb hopes up again and go back inside.
It’s worth noting that Biggs takes the first look through Luke’s binoculars and says it’s probably just a freighter refueling. Having been to the Imperial Academy he’d know damn well what a Star Destroyer looks like and that having one in orbit over Tatooine means Srs Bsns is afoot. But he doesn’t mention this and lies, probably in an effort to keep Luke from going “ZOMG ADVENTURE!” and trying to get involved.
When everyone else inside, Biggs and Luke go for a walk and Biggs lets Luke in on a secret: he and a bunch of other Academy grads are going to mutiny and defect to the Rebel Alliance the first chance they get. Luke basically goes “GEE WHIZ!” and Biggs shuts him up. He explains that this is stupidly dangerous and is going to make him a wanted man if he survives, so this is the last time the two are probably ever going to see each other. Luke still doesn’t Get It yet and is mostly envious of all the excitement and adventure Biggs is about to embark on.
Fast forward past: Luke discovering real and innocent people get murdered by the Empire (courtesy of Uncle Owen & Aunt Beru’s smoking remains), finding out that dashing rogues can really just be selfish, trigger-happy assholes thanks to Han Solo, and watching the man who opened his eyes to a bigger universe get killed by the monster who Luke thinks murdered his father. His boyish naivety has taken quite the beating. But as he gears up to help attack the Death Star, who should he run into but his best buddy Biggs! How bad can war be when your best friend is at your side?
… oh.
Biggs gave his life to protect Luke, physically blocking Vader from shooting his best friend for as long as he possibly could. Between that, the reassuring words of Obi-Wan, and the timely return of Han (who Chewie threatened to tear the arms off of if they didn’t go back), Luke learned a critical truth: the universe was a lot darker than he ever realized, but no matter what there is always hope.
Wow, that actually adds a TON of emotional depth to that sacrifice, too. I never knew that.
Here are the scenes in question:

@kedreeva explaining that albino UPS trucks don't exist and that you can see it's leucistic because its windows are blue and not red
actually! They do but this is still a leucistic vehicle. The windows are not eyes, like some cartoons would have you believe, they are false eye markings to deter predators (largely other vehicles), and due to their translucent nature can appear different colors even when there is none. The headlamps are where you would look, but even then it might not tell you much; the actual lamps on most vehicles are already "white," and both leucistic and albino vehicles have a cool white cast instead of the normal warm white (which can even appear cream or yellow). SOME albinos will have indicators around the eyes though.
The markings on the side are also not a great indicator, as those are brands added by the company to purchase the truck, in this case UPS.
But what we CAN see from here is the black rims, and black encircling the rear light patches, which indicates leucism not albinism. In an albino, you'd see white, red, or possibly chrome in some species.
This would be an example of an albino truck:
and a different one where you can see the chrome rims and white or absent light casings, but as you can see there's very little other indication on this guy except! that the front grill usually has black, and this one doesn't.
Not to say that albinism is necessarily unhealthy, but you can kinda see genetic deformities on both of these trucks. It's less a case of albinism causing deformities and more a problem of albinism appears more often in poorly-bred cars, and is usually seen in consumer-owned trucks like the above, not in working vehicles. These trucks also often have behavioral problems (personals space issues) and sensory issues (poor eyesight, poor hearing), making them a bit of a menace on public roadways. They're better kept away from the public.
So, I'm relatively certain the above UPS truck is a leucistic one, but it would help to see the front to be sure. Still a really cool photo of an unusual animal though! Thanks for the tag!
The X-Men team profile from the original Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe. Compiled by Mark Gruenwald and Peter Sanderson with new artwork by Uncanny X-Men artist Paul Smith and the tech-y schematics by Eliot R. Brown.
There's a few mix-ups. Marvel Girl, Angel, Wolverine and Storm should be depicted in the costumes they were wearing when they joined the team and Kitty Pryde should also have a second listing under the alias Sprite. Arguably Multiple Man (who was working as Moira MacTaggert's assistant) could be included alongside the allies.

Au where One for All works like Doctor Who regeneration
Oh this gripped me
1- Yoichi died in the vault. His brother got too busy and far to make sure Yoichi ate, and he starved. He didn't stay dead.
Yoichi fades in golden energy, and then is in a new body: an angry body, a soldier's body, a body that can fight. His hair is vibrant and spiky, and doesn't look related to AfO anymore. He tears himself out of the vault and runs.
2- AfO kills the Second life of his brother, thinking this will force him back. Instead, he regenerates again. His hair is longer and lighter, but he's still strong and a fighter. This body is built for balance though, technique and not brute strength. The Third life of Yoichi remembers, and runs while his brother is distracted. He continues to fight, but he's smarter about it. Living so long will teach you that. When he's injured, he knows he can't get to a hospital. He limps into the woods to die instead, in the open air and under the sun, not a vault or battlefield.
3- his Fourth life starts young and lasts longer. He wants peace. He can sense danger, now, and he thinks if he had this earlier he would have never been trapped by his brother. But he also can't help himself from fighting, and eventually he leaves the safety of his hermit life. He's in awe to see heroes on the street, and distracted just long enough to let a villain kill him. This time, when the gold fades, his Fifth body is that of a confident hero who here to help.
4- he meets his brother again, who thought Yoichi was lost forever. AfO doesn't know it's him, until he tries to take blackwhip, such an interesting quirk. But he can't, so he tosses the hero aside and snaps his neck. He sees the glow start again and runs to get closer. This time, Yoichi regenerates into yet another hero body- but one who can hide, and his vision is obscured by smoke before he can reach him. Yoichi escapes.
5- On his seventh life, he regenerates into a very different body, but finds it's not as dysphoric as he'd have expected. He decides he could take gender or leave it either way, but it's quite nice to be pretty again. She falls in love, and is sure her brother won't find her in this body, he didn't see the last regeneration. But somehow, he catches AfO's attention anyway, annoying him in just the way siblings can. She's killed, and even in the bright light if the explosion, AfO would know that gold anywhere, a younger hero boy darting out to grab Torino and flee. This is Yoichi's eighth time around, and he's stronger than ever. He grieves more for his husband and son than his brother. She's going to kill AfO, if it kills her too.
+1- finally, he does it- AfO falls dead, and as All Might, he does too a moment later. The difference is that he gets a wave of light, and finds herself in a much smaller body. A young child, not unlike his last glimpse of Kotaro. Perhaps nine years old, and cute if not noteworthy in appearance. A child, marking a band new life now that he's free of AfO. He leaves the battlefield, and wonders what cover name he should use this time.
He's gone before AfO's body starts sparking gold too, changing. Returning. Regenerating.
