They are a whumpee. A well conditioned one under their whumper, who takes the bearings and manipulation. They receive harm until they're covered in scars. Their hands shake with pain.

I saw this mentioned in a post a while ago, but I wanted to expand on it with my own thoughts and headcanons:

What if Wiesel and the DeLanceys are inclusive and apply gender roles and stereotypes to everyone? Like, say Oscar and Morris somehow end up in a fight with Hotshot (since I've seen a few headcanons of them being a trans woman) and they find out she's trans I'd imagine it'd go something like-

"Wait, wait, wait- youse a trans lady?"

"...yeah. So-So what?"

"So- We ain't allowed tah hit goirls!"

"Yeah, an' cover up those ankles, yah hooker!"

And they just- leave. Because they don't beat up weak, fragile women. Also, vice versa- they get in a fight with Racetrack over something (there are some headcanons about him being a trans man) and they make fun of him for dressing in men's clothes.

"Yeah, quit dressin' like you'll be a workin' man!"

"What if I wanna be a workin' man?"

"...then we don't beat up goirls." *cracks his knuckles.* "but guys are fair game."

And that's the first time they beat up Race, but definitely not the last. Every time they insult him, they instinctively call him a bitch, and then they correct themselves and call him 'a major fuckin' dick' because that's what they call Jack and Davey and Crutchie.

I've seen headcanons that Davey's a trans man too, but in my mind, the DeLanceys already thought of him as a man, and this changes nothing to them.

Shhh...shhh... there was once a time when there were no trading cards... somewhere out there, there exists a newsies fan disconnected from the land of the Internet, in the peaceful land of the Newsies fandom... who gets their information purely from the movie and musical... and what happens then?

(You shouldn't have to look outside the canon for information. What's stated in the actual musical is what the majority of fans know, and having to sift through interviews and posts and discontinued collectibles is often difficult or untrustworthy, since you debate over the actor's canon, which take on the character is best or the true most true to the story, etc. What happened to Crutchie's leg? I don't want what the actors said in an interview, I want the explanation in the musical. There is none? Shocker. Why is Jack a newsie today and what originally motivated him to do art? I don't want educated guesses based off canon, I want what was said by Medda or Jack or anyone else. They didn't say anything? Shocker. Newsies majorly lacks in canon information about the character past the original plotline, which although it does inspire creative amongst the fanbase, it also is likely the reason for a fair amount of the discourse today. Anything that's confirmed outside of canon by the directors, or actors (which is a whole different path to go down of if actor's information is based off their takes on the character or based on the script but was somehow never actually said to the audience), can be 1) difficult to find, ir 2) in the case of newsies, be dependent on the movie vs musical canon.)

(In total: I'm pissy about having to look outside what's shown to the audience to learn more about the characters. Clarifying this now, I'm not upset at @bigmack2go at all, this was just therapeutic for me and an opportunity to vent about my issues with authors and producers and directors expecting fans to look outside the show for information.)

Roght so i was gonna make my fic “recognise” take place AFTER “comunication” but then k realised, what if recognise leads UP to communication. So theres just no smut scene in recognise, but Nicos “it was hot” comment is what triggers the spiral into “comunication” instead of them already having had their first time

Love the idea that the dofferent pantheons are just different extended (or not so extended) families that have neighbourhood beef like

Or Hades thinking that Anubis is the reason his son turned out the way he did. Bad influence. Now he’s emo good job. This is why i told persephone “dont let the neighbours babysit nico again” but NO you just HAD to didnt you?

And technichally all pantheons work the same. Egyptian gods could have demigod children and greeks could make einherjar and norse could have magicians. But they just choose not to because how dare you imply yhat their system is anything like that of THEM ugh

The only other way i think i could describe it is that i feel like the different mythologies shouldn’t be as seperated as they are in the books. Like the mortals meet mortals conected to different pantheons, but the gods from the different pantheons never interact with EACH OTHER

OR a completely different concept that theyre all one pantheon and just have different names and some stories differ slightly but it’s actually all the same gods similar to how greek vs roman except that the differences are a lil bigger but obviously that doesnt work cause like thats completely different from the books so
