percabeth legally blonde AU when?
no because i’m actually thinking about it
- percy’s loyalty means he follows someone to harvard, bc of course he does
- annabeth is the year above, having skipped a grade somewhere down the line and is definitely judging why percy is here and what he’s trying to get at
- he’s not as overtly vain as elle is perceived, but he definitely focuses more on social and not academics
- but he has such a strong sense of justice that he almost argues a defense without any knowledge of law and just purely on his own morals
- annabeth is kinda impressed, but confused as to why he can’t simply read a textbook and give himself the head start
- percy, trying to be a social butterfly, is at a party and warner equivalent (rachel? calypso? luke?) makes him feel all sad and he just sits outside and misses his mom
- annabeth comes past after a midnight library trip and he’s just so sad and he has those sad eyes and sh caves just a little bit because of course even in this context, she falls a little bit first
- she helps him study and eventually percy is trying super hard because annabeth is trying so hard to help and he needs to hand it to her, she’s pretty passionate
- annabeth explains why she puts in so much effort to get where she is now (black emmett - uk regent’s park production - was stunning and i feel like annabeth as emmett would have that kind of depth) and shades with percy that she’s doing it all to prove herself to her family as their relationship is strained
- the pieces kind of click in percy’s head that law could be an actual career (shock) and he could support his mom
- so now he’s working super hard for everyone else
- he gets chosen on a particular case with his lecturer (actually maybe this is luke)
- they win (duh) because percabeth teamwork (duh)
- and big boss luke pulls percy aside and praises him for recognising that annabeth can do the legwork for him and taking advantage of that - and admits that he himself has been doing similar for years with various other students who would “be nothing without his recommendations”
- percy reels. he doesn’t want to ruin annabeth’s budding career, but can’t let luke continue to take advantage
- he nervously tells annabeth, who snaps at him for accusing her of letting someone leech off of her, she’s not stupid enough to let that happen
- percy apologises for upsetting her, but can’t in his right mind stay where he’s a part of this system. so he goes back home
- annabeth comes to her senses and realises that she’s pushed away someone just trying to look out for her, she’s just not used to having someone on her team. the pieces click into place and she realises how much luke has passed off his work load to her, and how much she does for simply a word of his praise
- annabeth reached out to percy, and pushes him to return, thanking him for his warning and asking for his help to make change
- he comes back and they unite the students (and faculty) to push out luke and expose the truth
- happy endings and percabeth forever hooray!!
