the ✨nature✨ of ICT

At first I thought ICT (Information & Communication Technologies) is just all about computers in general but when I was introduced to ETS (Empowerment Technologies) as a subject, it really widened my knowledge on what ICT is all about and how there are a lot more fields that ICT covers. I both agree and disagree on how we use and visit online sites, because it all depends on how we make use of these sites whether the sites are being used responsibly and used for its correct purpose. I think with Philippines embarking in the world of technology, not only in education, the country is still coping and improving every day. If I were to give recommendations it would be faster and reliable internet servers especially now that COVID is present and online platforms are being utilized more.

how does social media help us in gathering info during pandemic/calamities?

Social Media has been a big part in our lives in terms of gathering information from it. People mostly post on social media the happenings in their lives, when they promote something, and even when they sell something, because people are more in to social media nowadays, and we get to know more information in social medias first, rather than in televisions, and/or radios. Specifically, when calamities or pandemics happen people get more help in social medias because that is and more easy access because they just post their situations, ask for donations and people from all around will get to see the post. And since people get more first-hand information in social medias first they will be able to help. 

The gathering of information, to be compared from the past to today is very different because of the following reasons; (1) the technology before weren’t that advanced like today, (2) social medias weren’t created until early 2000′s, and lastly (3) radios, televisions, and newspapers are the only materials that were being used to gather and spread information, and it takes time to show it to the whole public.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

ICT has been a big help to society, especially today due to advanced technology, because ICT has made significant contributions to social and economic progress, such as increased jobs and productivity, as well as increased access to a greater standard of living. From curriculum to monitoring, ICT will make a significant contribution to public health. Another role that ICT has is that it would benefit a company by allowing for faster correspondence, electronic storage, and record preservation. In personal terms, since it can be used as a learning and teaching medium, as well as a mass communication medium for encouraging and campaigning on real and critical topics such as health and social issues, it can increase the quality of human life. Lastly, we might not even know it yet but ICT has become and integral part of a human’s everyday life.

lessons learned during pandemic?

I am going to cite three lessons that I have learned during the time of COVID pandemic; First is to always be safe than sorry, because one can never be too safe especially if it risks your life, they can make fun of you or mock you even just because you are being very cautious but little did they know it will benefit you. Second, is to value your family. As much as possible communicate with them, we have advanced technology for other family members who are far away from us, because we might not know they are maybe in pain and they need us, or they miss us in general especially in this time of pandemic wherein we don’t get to go outside like before. Lastly, in terms of education, we find ways to pursue our education, like online distance learning, because education is the key to our success and not just any virus can stop us from achieving it.

who r u?

hi! HAHAHAHA my name is Bianca but my friends call me Biyang, hence the blog name biyangdiaries bc why not? I am, obviously, a female HAAHAAH 17 of age, and my birthday is on the tenth of November so feel free to greet me on that day, or not HAHAHAAH I am a middle-child with my other two siblings and I live in the Philippines! 🇵🇭 #itsmorefuninthePH I am currently in Grade 11, which is quite challenging but everything is challenging so I suck it up and deal with it. My motto in life is to always live our lives to the vvv fullest! bc we do only get 1 life so why not make the most out of it, right? Another thing to know about me is I want to be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the future, hopefully I would get to insert that on my name soon hehe, and if God gives me more strength I would pursue law bc I really got inspired by students who passed the board exam for law who are already a CPA, so yeah they count as my inspirations HAHAHAHA Lastly, if I am to describe myself in three words that would be; loud, adventurous, and loyal. You get to figure out why I describe myself that HAHAHAHA it is pretty self-explanatory. I think that sums up the question who r u? AHAHAHAHHA Bye! :))
