Quick info

Hello everyone! Just a quick info, because the archive is down for maintenance, the new chapter of The Eye of The Storm will be posted tomorrow ;)

Since the first chapter of "The Eye of the Storm" is finally out (and you can check it out here ;) if you like, of course) I wanted to properly introduce our antagonists - Task Force Cyclone!

For now, meet Antoine, Albert and Christelle, I will introduce the other two members after their debut in the fic ;) Also, if you guys have any questions about the fic or the characters, feel free to ask ;)

"You drew stars around my scars But now I'm bleedin'"

So, I got a question/request to describe Alice's scar on her mouth a bit more and it made me realize I never drew it - like, I kind of did, because I drew her unnaturally wide smile which is that way BECAUSE Of the scar, but never the scar itself. So, yeah, a bit of explanation on that matter (BEFORE you read, this will contain spoilers for chapter 13, so if you hadn't read it yet, it's safer to come back later):

I wanted the scar to look similar to the one Heath Leadger's Joker and Iguro Obanai from Demon Slayer have, but I also didn't want it to be as... graphic, I guess, because Alice's mouth hasn't been slit, it was damaged by the glue from a tape that used to cover her mouth when Alice was a baby. It basically split the corners of Allie's mouth, so when she smiles, that smile is wider and creepier than a normal one (I don't know how accurate it is to real life, but I think it would be possible for something like that to actually happen).

The reason why I don't often describe those scars is because Alice covers them with make-up, so they don't stand out too much. And a bit of explanation on why she covers that scar and not the one on her neck - Alice considers the scar on her neck as a sign of her strength and resistance. She survived such a serious injury and the people who had hurt her paid the price. But the scars on her mouth were (unintentionally) caused by her mother when Allie was just an infant. In her eyes, those scars show her vulnerability and remind her of her past trauma, so she covers them not only to hide them from others but also to hide them for herself.

I was rereading chapter 9 a few days ago and realized these three actually fit the saying "See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil", so I decided to make this little piece 😉

He looked at the bodies once more and frowned. “Are there always three of them?” he asked, turning back to his mentor. The woman nodded and asked right after:

“Do you think it matters?”

“Well, the number '3' has a very broad symbolism. The Holy Trinity, a triad, the three heads of Cerberus… It’s a symbol of harmony, a unity of mind, body, and spirit. And there are also three wise monkeys – see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. If I were to guess…” he paused for a moment and looked back at the corpses. At first glance, their injuries seemed random, and they mostly were, but each body had something special about it. The first had – Atsushi realized – a cut-off tongue. Another didn’t have eyes. And the last one had dried blood running out of its ears, so it was most likely impaled there with some kind of skewer. “I’d say it's about the last one. It’s not much and tells us almost nothing, but-”

“No,” Alice cut in, suddenly standing next to her student. “It tells us everything we need.

Meet my OC!

I recently started my first fic on AO3 and I wanted to introduce you guys to Rin, she's one of the main characters in my story and has a Quirk that allows her to open a multi-dimensional portals... what could go wrong with that, am I right? Anyway, I might do a second part of this introduction (with status and portrayal) and maybe even draw her myself (although I'm not a very good artist) but I did make her in the picrew you can find here, I personally love it and usually make my oc's with it.
