✨🦊ryland grace imagines🦊✨ okay so imagine him dismounting from his bike and landing straight into a puddle. now imagine him standing on his desk trying not to kill himself while fumbling with the class projector. now imagine him pulling the world's most mangled banana out of his lunch bag. he's speaking at a conference and he's been struggling with mic feedback for the past 15 minutes. he needs to get off the bus but there's people standing in front of the exit and he can't manage to squeeze past them in time so he has to wait for the next stop and walk back. imagine him tripping over a sidewalk tile. now imagine him crunching on a still frozen spot in his microwave spaghetti dinner and gagging a little.

okay now imagine him failing to get the key into the bike lock for 5 minutes while it's cold and raining and his hands are numb. he's sitting outside having his sad sandwich for lunch and the wrapper blows away so he has to chase after it. he grows increasingly flustered as everyone watches him struggle with a loose contact while he's trying to switch the projector output over to his hdmi port. imagine him bent over the sink in the staff bathroom frantically trying to rub a giant stain out of his shirt but only soaking himself in the process. he overstuffs a plastic bag and it rips halfway through his trip home, covering the sidewalk in his groceries. also imagine him recovering a moldy tangerine from the very back of his fridge and shuddering with barely contained disgust as he clamps it between three fingers and turns his face into his shoulder.

like i get the appeal of the angst of being like "ohhh rocky is going to be the eridian equivalent of someone who 'came back wrong' with all the human mannerisms and cultural knowledge he's adopted from and learned to accomodate for grace" but it literally doesn't matter because he came back. and grace is the only one who could have brought him back at all. if you even care.

key to Eva Stratt isn't "she does whatever she wants." She does whatever she thinks is necessary. Her own wants are so low on her priority list they might as well not exist. She'll do anything, Anything, to get the job done. Including pretending that her own feelings are completely insignificant for so long, she'll be angry at one of her only friends for refusing to die. "I've destroyed myself to make this happen - why can't you grant me the same sacrifice? Can't you see this betrayal goes both ways?" movie!Stratt is of course, softer and more stoic about it. Which I think makes sense: she understands movie!Grace needs (the illusion of) compassion to convince him to agree. She'll put aside her anger to say what she thinks is the right thing. Afterall, isn't she an expert in putting aside her own feelings to get the job done?
