Hey. I live right down the street from this and theyre looking to turn it into a facility for veterans. Theres unfortunately some backlash from the surrounding community, and its hard to see from the pictures but the building sits next to a neighborhood. Its also across the street from an elementary school.

Some people in the neighborhoods are UPSET that this facility will be offering mental health care for veterans. Theyre upset that mentally ill people are going to be coming and going near a school. Most of this is being voiced on the neighborhood forums so I dont have links for it, apologies. 

The nonprofit that is leasing the space for their project still needs donations because the building is vandalized on the inside. Mostly from kids from the surrounding neighborhoods breaking into it. Which I know because I went to school with them. Anyways. Good news, this space is being used to help people who need it. Bad news, people are ableist assholes.

let’s talk about scammers a bit i’m sure people discuss this a Lot, but since i’m concerned, i wanted to mention something real quick about buying characters / designs from others. recently people have been coming to me about buying a character from someone, only to realize that they were scammed and it was really just some asshole taking my ocs to sell. that kind of situation is like… the absolute worst, i never want anyone to be excited about buying a design only to find that they were scammed, it sucks for them and it sucks for me as the artist whose art was getting passed around. i don’t know who’s been trying to sell my designs like this since i’ve never been able to track anyone, but seriously, just as a general precaution: ALWAYS thoroughly check who you are buying from! check their other accounts, ask where the character came from, look through their art, find strong reason to believe that they are selling you a character that they have rights to! trading and reselling designs has become such a big thing lately, it’s getting VERY easy for scammers to just take a bunch of character designs, say they own them, and sell them off. many don’t think to double check these situations, since mass reselling characters has become a norm. i had someone come to me about a month ago saying that they got scammed with one of my designs, and when they asked the person who sold it to them, the person just said that they got the design from someone else, so that person must’ve been scammed into getting the design originally, etc. etc. please please PLEASE look into what you buy! if you’re buying from someone who’s reselling, trace back where the character originally came from! if you can’t find solid proof that the seller has rights to the design, then question them further, or just don’t buy! this is the worst sort of situation to have to deal with, and it really sucks to see ppl get scammed like this! be sure to look out for what your friends or others are buying too, and advise them if u think they’re being scammed! thnx for readin everyone!!!
