I know there are a lot of different opinions on how Arthur would have reacted if he found out about Merlin's magic earlier and I know many people say that in most fics he's to understanding and soft and I agree to a certain degree if we think about it realistically.

However: While I do think that Arthur would get angry and fall into his old coping patterns I honestly believe if he would have approached Merlin and Merlin would have flinched because he is scared Arthur's anger would have transformed into shame so quick. Arthur would not be able to stand Merlin being afraid of him.

So, in Tolkein lore, the world was originally flat, with most of the land in the middle (hence Middle Earth).  But the Numenorians (men who were rewarded with their own Atlantis-equivalent island for service in the first big war against Melkor, but eventually Power Corrupts etc) tried to invade the uttermost west which was basically Elf Heaven.  To put an end to that sort of thing, the creator of the world Bent The World and made it a sphere…but left elves able to treat it like a flat disk.  So elves can sail west and reach Elf Heaven, but a man or dwarf or hobbit who sails west will eventually wrap around to the east coast of Middle Earth.

The little things 💜

I love this little moment right here. When Maomao is so focused on caring for and waking up the children and Jinshi just stops and turns back with the most loving look on his face.

You could say he’s looking at the children, happy that they’re alive. And I’m sure he is, there was a lot of sadness and weight from that. But I also believe this look is just for Maomao. There’s so much unsaid here. About how he knows her, how he sees her despite her efforts to hide herself. He sees her work for others, for children despite her saying she doesn’t much care for them. He sees her concern and worry for others besides herself and he sees her heart which is so much bigger and warmer than she’s willing to give herself credit for. It’s why she admits Jinshi can read her better than she would like him to because for all she observes him, he observes and tries to understand her right back. That’s what love is though, trying to understand not just what someone tells you about themselves but what they don’t say and can’t always express with words 🧡❤️💛
