Ok I finished my homework so now I can talk about thr backrooms movie. Obviously spoilers so 🤷♀️
1. I think the set designs were great. Perfectly unsettling and confusing
2. I did not enjoy watching the movie. I like horror, but the lack of hope I had for any of them to make it out alive made me not care.
3. The characters felt...idk if flat is the right word but they were certainly static. There was SOME character development from Clark in the dining room scene but that was met with him immediately dying so 🤷♀️.
4. It was like the movie wasnt about the characters but only what happened to the characters because of their actions (if that makes sense). They didn't have goals. They didn't have any tangible connections to the real world really. The stakes were nonexistent. The only people with loved ones that were noted were Kat and Bobby who were EACHOTHERS loved ones. (Justice for Kat she didnt want to be there)
5. Building off of the last one, it felt like the characters only did stuff because the plot required it. Every character kept doing things that were so stupid to me because they had no reason to.
6. I did like how the movie is about how the mind distorts its memories, that was cool.
7. I don't get why the monster was a giant pirate Clark. I don't get why like THEE backrooms wire monster guy was just like nonexistent. It still could've worked I think though things of course would've been different.
Anyways I'm open to anyone else's input.
TLDR: movie design good, characters flat, no hope, memory theme cool, didn't enjoy watching it overall.
