Soldier your mission is to be a seat filler at our 80 year old president's big birthday fight! Strong sexy hunks ONLY! Absolutely NO uggos!
I shouldn’t be surprised that Trump and Hegseth went “No Fats, No Femmes, No Asians.” So that one is on me.
“I hate school I’m sorry Malala”- Funny yet poignant. Acknowledges both the difficulty of the task and the fact that doing that task is a privilege. Gives credit to the people who fought for that privilege with a tongue in cheek acknowledgement of the irony of the initial statement
“I’m just a girl I should be home baking bread not doing calculus” - at best historically uninformed at worst leaps decades back in time. Refusal to acknowledge the charged history of education and slights the centuries of women’s labor it took to reach this point
I feel like I need to share this because idk if Europeans are familiar with the presence of Aldi in the US, but at least especially in my area they’ve been growing a lot recently. Like Aldi bought out some local failing grocery chains where I live (Louisiana) and have opened Aldis in all these somewhat rural communities and small towns, which for the record I’m fine with
But as a result of this they are advertising a lot more in my area and also in many cases, the people in these areas have never been confronted with Aldi or any European grocery store. So the ads that Aldi is pushing out to its new US customer base feature a cowboy shopping at Aldi who is explaining to new Aldi customers how Aldi works. Like this cowboy is explaining you gotta put a quarter in the shopping cart and why there are very little name brands. A cowboy is how they want to reach their American customer base. They gave us a cowboy
Here he is, the Aldi Cowboy

ok sorry to double reblog BUT I just looked him up and he does these fantastic videos where he breaks down HOW he actually mimics the other artists’ styles. Like for ed Sheeran, he explains how he brings his voice forward in the mouth, while Adam Levine sings in the back of the mouth, stuff like that. It’s SO COOL, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone actually break down how to do this sort of thing, as a skill, instead of just treating it like a neat trick they just happen to be good at. https://www.tiktok.com/@justinjmooremusic
Check him out he’s so cool
I have a jar at home that has my grandpa's smithereens
like yes duh i’m anti colonies on the moon wtf does america need to colonize the moon for they aint gon do nothing but evil up there and we know this bc they r already doing evil with majority of the objects they launched into space already u r not living in a comic book u aint going to space u r going to die here do u here me
Boy do I have a book series that began like this...
all u ppl think about is fandoms and fanfic and mediaslop
when the author describes someone dying and you can just tell they’ve never actually died by the way it’s written
every day it just concerns me how little compassion people have. no compassion for those living in the global south. no compassion for immigrants. no compassion for disabled ppl. no compassion for addicts. no compassion for prisoners. no compassion for children. like holy shit ...
i made a separate post about this but actually there are plenty of people cough white people who care about animals more than they ever do human people . not what i'm talking about make your own post
usamerican soldier STUNNED into silence when he learns that his willing and paid participation in the murder and neocolonization of foreign people is a huge red flag to everyone with a conscience
in the early 21st-century, the “small business” was a sort of small temple run by a local warlord. Patrons could purchase small trinkets and be granted absolution for the sins of their empire. This was called “ethical consumption.”
Vanessa Smith — Motel Part 1 (oil and acrylic on board, 2014)
on this beautiful Friday morning, thinking about Faulkner, the last thing left behind, all alone on the road and in the world after he left his empty home behind, searching half-blindly for a new family in the face of people of the Parish who hopes will understand and accept and value him while also trying and failing again and again to bring himself to call his *actual* brother who is out there just one phone call away.
finally using his last coin to reach out to him near the end of season 1 (and how long has it been for him in-world?? they probably haven’t spoken to each other in years) and being so surprised that Eddie is relieved and excited to hear from him! that’s he is being kind to and worried about him, who wants to meet and help him!!! that he doesn’t even blame him for Charlie’s death.
and what does this empower him to go ahead and do? try and kill himself (and a whole city) of course👍
