beetle is writing you a love letter 💌
Murderbot, a construct that was built and used to do extreme violence it's entire existence : I hate talking to people but I will try to resolve this situation peacefully if I can, threats only make people panic and then they take irrational decisions. Extreme violence is sometimes unavoidable but last resort.
ART, a peaceful research transportation : I love talking to people because I can threaten them with extreme violence right off the bat and it makes them do what I want (ads more totally-not-weapons to it's research equipment)
@lichtenbug you're so right

I'll paint you mornings of gold
I'll spin you Valentine evenings though we're strangers 'til now
We're choosing the path
Between the stars
I'll leave my love
Between the stars
(I might have to do a proper short comic of the Yellow Wallpaper lady getting to Carcosa at this point since I’ve drawn this subject like, four times xD)
Starting a gofundme for my friend Bunbury who's a terrible invalid,
fucked up how no matter how much literature you read there’s always literature that you haven’t read. and in fact there’s literature that you CANT read because it’s “only published in a language you don’t read” or “it is translated but every translation is straight up bullshit” or “it’s no longer extant” or something stupid like that and so it’s always going to be literature you’ve never read. you can’t read it all. sick n twisted

whoever responded to our audience survey saying we should adapt The Beetle next turn your location on I just wanna talk
Mr. Bennet: Sure, I haven't taken care of my daughters' financial security, but have I at least taken care of their education? No. But have I taken care of their emotional needs? Also no. But have I been a good protector and supervisor? I'm afraid not. However, have I been a good example for my children of being a kind and respectful spouse, parent, and all around human being? No again. But through it all, have I nailed being funny? Yes. And isn't that the most important role of a father after all?
Like flowers return from the earth, Jonathan Harker returns to Dracula's castle
To Mr. Griffin: What's an unexpected perk of invisibility?
in dracula there is a cowboy and the female lead lives. in nosferatu there is no cowboy and the female lead dies. ergo, the existence of a cowboy is highly important for the survival of the female lead in a gothic vampire story.
the beetle 1897 is the best book ever published. no one should read it. no one HAS read it. it outsold dracula in its original run. significant portions of its prose are almost unreadably bad. it made me laugh out loud more than any other nineteenth century literature I've ever read. one of the main characters is an honest to god aspiring war criminal and asks random men for recreational fist fights when he's bored and has ten minutes to spare. it spends a quarter of its story building up a pro-feminist narrative about women's autonomy and then tears it all apart in favor of being as racist as possible. the last act and climax of the story is entirely about narrowly missing trains. it's called the beetle and the main antagonist is named the beetle and the magic words you have to say to summon the beetle are "the beetle." 10/10 experience that I hated every minute of.
