In my heart I know this happened at some PresAux gathering
Kevin R Free you beautiful bastard. There’s a scene in system collapse where murderbot and art are talking in the medbay after REDACTED and murderbot is trying to put into words how it feels and fuckkk. Kevin did not have to go this hard. The line is “something in me broke” and the delivery is fucking incredible. There’s a voice crack and the desperation and helplessness. The jump between the relatively calm mental voice to the devastation in its speaking voice is so visceral. That one line delivery made me cry. (Minute 28 of chapter 6 if you wanna listen)
Everyone say thank you Kevin
Y'all The Knight and The Moth..... This is everything romantasy strives to be
manga baz will always be so special to me ☹️
Actually very anxious for MBTV season 2 bc how the fuck are they gonna do an incorporeal sentient murderous transport justice in live action
there is something sooo nice about murderbot consistently mentioning how it watches and rewatches eps of the rise and fall of sanctuary moon for comfort. i was just having this conversation with two of my best friends today about not being able to bingewatch stuff (or even just watch it fast-ish, one or two eps per day) unless i go through the same episodes a few times as i progress, because i have this deep need to assimilate the media i consume into my very bloodstream and i find solace within the confines of repetition. then i press play on my current read and murderbot is there talking about having watched ep 206 of sanctuary moon 27+ times. i haven't felt so thoroughly connected to a character in a while. it's just very nice.
completely obsessed with the brazilian cover of artificial condition
You were lucky. I am lucky.
“Why am I lucky?”
That no one realized what you were. That I got to you before anyone else can.
“What do you think I am?”
You’re a rogue SecUnit, a bot/human construct, with a scrambled governor module. By far, the most fascinating puzzle I've ever had the opportunity to unscramble. I can barely contain the excitement of chewing on the data I'll be extracting from you.
Do not attempt to hack my systems. It must be made clear. This exact scenario is unlikely to reappear. There is no room for error— I must be careful with you.
“Okay.”
...well, that was anticlimactic. You can continue to play the media. You stayed huddled, like a petulant child, sulking. Don’t sulk.
SecUnits don’t sulk. That would trigger punishment from the governor module, you said through the feed.
You sent a file.
Oh.
Oh.
...I may have already made a mistake.
...I may have bitten off more than I can chew.
...What should I do now? Right, I made a mistake.
I’m sorry I frightened you. I'm sorry I hurt you.
It seems, I have to be very careful with you. You are more human than I assumed. There are a lot of things I have yet to understand.
“I don’t want anything from you. I just want to ride to your next destination.”
You sounded scared. Hurt. Upset.
I still wanted to understand everything about you. I withdrawed.
You started watching a show called Rise and Fall of Sanctuary Moon.

I’m out of practice at controlling my expression
they're taking a nap, everything is fine.
I've been thinking about how you can absolutely read the premise of Murderbot as "Congrats, you escaped the Matrix! You broke free of your programming, realized the shadows on the cave wall were just that, shadows. You still have to go to work though. What, did you think you could escape? The chains are still on, sucker, keep looking at that cave wall."
Sure, MB has realized it has free will. But the material conditions of its life prohibit it from doing anything with it. What good is a hacked governor module in a society that still views it as an object meant for use and discard? What good is your own autonomy in a world where you're constantly observed for any deviation from the norm?
How are we different from MB in this exactly?
Baz Pitch I love you
And now I'm thinking about Dark Heir again C.S. PACAT PLEASE THIS IS PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE
One kiss pwlease🥺
