It was time to say goodbye.
The sun was setting on this gorgeous day, the sky full or reds and yellows, ready to bring forth the night. It was perfect timing considering he had spent most of the day with his friends, the ones he had found to be his family for eons. He had made the last of the arrangements to make sure that the Autobots would be taken care of on the time of his departure. He would miss them all, however he knew he couldn't stay here in the state he was in.
He wasn't Optimus Prime anymore. He wasn't needed, there was no war to fight, no soldiers to lead in a time of chaos and mayhem. No, there was peace here, peace for both Autobots and Decepticons.
There was peace for himself, and for Megatron.
The ship was ready, everything was accounted for, packed up in cargo boxes and tucked away on the ship. This was going to be his home, where he and Megatron would live out their days exploring the universe, relaxing, learning, and of course enjoying each other's company.
You could say it was an extended honeymoon.
Having said goodbye to his friends, he looked up to the massive ship and spotted the Decepticon that he now shared a bond with. Those red optics staring back at him, the sharp features, those luscious lips that held a fine, smooth smile; how he had missed it all those years during the war. It was almost too good to be true, especially with millions of years of war that went on between them. However, here he was with the one he had longed for, for so long.
He ascended up the steps that lead into the ship, turning around to give a final wave to his friends. Optronix then turned to face Megatron, smiling as he went into the ship, hearing the heavy footsteps follow him from behind. The hatch-door to the ship shut tightly, and the ship was immediately pulled towards the launch bay.
Optronix sat in the cock-pit bay with Megatron, both at the controls and ready for launch. He'd let Megatron drive of course, he was a good pilot, however he'd thought it was a better idea to let his bonded test drive it first. Plus, he was a little too short for the seat.
Golden optics looked up towards Megatron, those glowing orbs full of excitement as the countdown came. When the ship was launched into space, Optronix had grabbed Megatron's hand tightly, and he smiled towards the Decepticon when he felt the other grip it tightly.
They were going on an adventure together. An adventure that would last a life time.
Who knows? Perhaps you'll see them again one day.
