Taking a break from Artfight to celebrate disability pride month with Maggie and Yang! As well as for ourselves. I’ve got some severe joint pain that’s in the process of being diabetic as well as autism and Dyspraxia other wise known as DCD or developmental coordination disorder! I’ll leave Aster’s discussion of its disabilities up to her! My sona is a border collie fanus and hers is a sheep.

The characters we are celebrating from the Gem Garden are of course Maggie and Yang! Magnolia’s blindness and chronic pain and Yang’s missing arm don’t slow these brilliant huntress down a bit!

I like that Supergirl says it’s okay to kill someone’s abuser so long as you don’t let the thirteen year old do it and I like that Supergirl says vengeance will not solve things but neither will allowing a cycle of violence to continue

And I like how Supergirl addresses the real issues and lets the girls be messy instead of "teaching her a lesson" that she needs to be nicer. She is not nice but she is kind!

today I learned that in 2008, the city council of florence overturned dante’s sentence of execution if he returned from exile. yes, dante’s inferno dante, who died in 1321.

but the funniest part of this is not that they were debating the exile of a man who has been dead for over 500 years.

the funniest part is that the vote was 19-5. five people voted to uphold dante’s exile.

The objectively funniest part of this is actually that the city that holds his remains, Ravenna, refused to give his remains back. This was a ploy from florence to have his remains moved back for the tourist money and its been ongoing for a long time. Florence had a fake tomb built in the city to trick people into visiting, and have tried to force the return of the remains.

His actual caretakers have been very steadfast in keeping them hidden, moved, or generally out of reach to respect his choice in life to never, ever, ever return to florence, even when he was first offered the chance to return. This is at this point an almost millenium long feud that florence is really, really mad about losing

rwby makes me want to cry so bad. imagine being created with the budget of a nickel and two toothpicks. the map of the region was a stain on a napkin. the creator wrote out to the ninth volume but died before the last of the third volume. but his friends kept the show going, kept true to what he wrote. the show survived the shutdown of the parent company. had crossover movies with wb and was dropped by them as well. got picked up by yet another studio. has been in hiatus hell for 3 years but is confirmed to continue. this is insane and unheard of for this type of show. also the core message of the show is to not give up, to keep going even when the going gets tough, never give up. rwby is not giving up. rwby, monty, you will always be famous <3
