Stratt: Oh no.
Stratt: I donât have the time or emotional capacity to be sad or stressed about this.
Stratt: GRACE!
Grace: On it!
Grace: *starts sobbing and going into a full panic attack*
The most basic, intractable fact about mental illnesses is that you simply cannot willpower your way out of them. The only exceptions to this rule are the ones I have, which continue to disable me due to lack of determination and other grave personal flaws
This counts as fan art
Apparently someone got their car stuck on the light rail tracks at Mt. Baker. For those unfamiliar this is 35 feet up in the air
First test flight of a flying car by Mazda partially a success
I feel like the Arizona license plate should take some place in our analysis of whatever in the goddam fuck weâre looking at here
Much like Springfield before it, Seattle is one of the few major cities in the world with a monorail. That, combined with a more conventional light rail system, makes Seattle the rare U.S. city with two different types of train for public transportation. On Tuesday night, the rail system briefly had a third: a Mazda CX-5.

I love when you go on a date with someone and youâre like. well that was neither wonderful nor horrendous. You seem Fine. Iâm sure if this was the 18th century and we were gentry arranged married to secure our fathers respective land interests we would care for each other in our way. you would buy me nice horses that I really had no interest in but would admire how gentle you were with them and when I died in labor during my third pregnancy you would tell our surviving heirs that their mother was a handsome woman who never drank too much and embarrassed herself in company
tgis is so fucking funny to me. they accidentally Rock Lee'd a retired racehorse
imagine youre a fat horse and your new neighbour is a personal trainer
horse that reads Marcus Aurelius
I was wrong. they didnt rock lee him. this horse is literally Gai. and i wish he was my dad
i see "Erid learns that Earth forced Grace into a suicide mission its freaked by it" but i don't think we explore enough how insanely horrifying Earth's situation would be for the Eridians
Erid's atmosphere is thick. It keeps much more heat in, and bc is so hot in there making astrophage fuel is super easy(just throw it on the ocean) They set up the Blip-A having a 70 year safe threshold before things started cooling dangerous amounts. When Rocky and Grace got there with the taumeabe and the solution to all their problems, Erid was just starting to feel the worst effects of the cooling
Earth didn't have any of that. Earth's atmosphere is thin and loses heat rapidly, the planet is already cold so making astrophage fuel is hard, it would take only 17 years for humanity to lose half of its population to starvation. 17 years is nothing to them, they might as well have been told earth had a only months to solve everything
Imagine the Eridians when Grace explains that humans had to make major sacrifices just to keep themselves alive for a fraction of the time Eridians had, Earth couldnât affort to bring their astronauts home, it couldnât affort to send other people, it didnt have the time, it didnt even know if the Hail Mary would work
Just Erid, looking at Earth and going "Oh you were terrified. You were terrified and desperate, you had no other choice, and yet what you did saved us too. You dont need to worry, we'll take care of what you lost, we know why you couldnât keep it"
My mom likes to tell me about how when I was a little kid riding public transport with her I'd always smile and giggle and chat with weird old ladies who smelled like cat pee and homeless folks and strangers dressed in bizarre outfits but any time a tidy and respectable businessman in a suit and tie waved at me I'd immediately clam up, and she takes a great deal of pride in my supposed inherentability to clock personalities but the truth is I do vaguely remember those bus rides, and it was never about the clothes or the hair or the smell, but more because everyone "strange" asked interesting questions and listened to what I had to say and seemed to think about what I said while the neat and tidy and rigid folks only ever acted like they were going through the motions, which was boring as hell and also pretty annoying
Well-to-do finance manager with tidy shoes: "Why hello, sweetheart. Can you say 'hi'? Aren't you cute. Are you on a trip with your mom?"
4 year old me: why must we do this
Fantastic old woman in the leopard print coat: "Why yes, my tooth IS real silver! Nobody ever asks me that. Do you like cats?"
4 year old me, suddenly paying attention: Finally, A Person Of Intellect
The thing is "Padawan. Steal a car." is actually one of the oldest and noblest Jedi traditions. Part of the standard duties of being a Padawan involves securing the getaway vehicle when your assignment has gone sideways six times over and developed into a full Situation. They have all done this. I know in my heart that even Luminara at some point looked at a situation and sighed and asked Barriss to please steal a car before the shooting starts.
In the 1950âs drug stores not only filled your prescription, but there was usually a food counter, ice cream and coffee. My Great Uncle Angelo worked as a soda clerk in the New York suburbs where a man named Bill would come in and flirt with him.
At a time when being gay could cause you to be arrested, Bill and Angelo, fell in love and began their lives together by renting a home in Fire Island where they could escape on weekends.
They soon built a home and life together as part of a migration of gay men from NYC that was beginning to happen. It was a quieter time, decades before Stonewall or the heyday of the "gay 70's".
As time passed, they helped to build a growing gay community there, where men were free to be, share, and discuss life. They would reminisce about the days when sharply dressed gay men went to the Bon Soir to hear a 20-something Barbra Streisand.
My great Uncles Angelo and Bill were never legally married. Bill died of cancer before he could see gay marriage legalized. But they lived together their whole lives, spending winters in Manhattan, and summers in Fire Island.
80s misogyny saved the Star Wars galaxy because Darth Vader wasted all his time and effort trying to convince his starry-eyed gayboy empath son to become an evil space fascist when if anyone had any point asked his daughter âhey do you ever just want to KILL these peopleâ she wouldâve been shooing lightning out of her hands to prove a point in like 10 minutes
