Trying to find a DPxDC post

I can’t remember who posted it, but the premise was that Constantine summoned what he thought was the king of a level of Hell dedicated to Lust, gets a teenaged Danny, and gets massively pissed that what he thinks is the king of lust is a child. Then Danny has to correct him and say he’s the Ghost King, and it’s revealed that what Constantine thought was the ring of Lust was actually a red light district in the Ghost Zone.

Does anyone else remember this post?

DPxDC Fanfic Idea: Mistaken Identity Leads To... Stuff

Danny is NOT the Kryptonian God of Death, The Unknown, and The Stars. He looks like how the god is depicted yes, but he is very much not a Kryptonian deity in any way. But Kara doesn't know that. She is positive that the last 'living' god of her home is now on Earth and, after hearing stories about demigods from Diana, is convinced that the reason Phantom was on Earth was to be one part of the equation of saving the Kryptonian species. And the other part of that equation is her.

Danny has no idea why his new coworker is coming onto him so hard. Supergirl is a world-renowned beauty and an amazing hero that he was pretty sure was about a thousand miles out of his league. Clearly, he is missing something. There has to be a reason why she would grab his hand, straight up proposition him, and then sashay-- not even walk or fly, but full on hip swaying sashaying-- towards her room on the Watchtower... Well, J'onn had cleared them all of mind control that morning, and Constantine of enchantments the day before, so whatever the reason was, it could wait until after he took her up on her offer.

This is just an opinion on a trope from me being an overthinker and an angst lover.

I don't actually particularly like the no nuance, ghost fighting equals friendship thing, especially on Danny's end.

For one, on the comedic end this usually results in the loss of autonomy and "joking" victim blaming on Danny's end. The infantilization, even if Danny is objectively in a better place for it, urks me somewhat.

On the more serious side, if you take into account the original motivations of many of the ghosts and their actions, a lot of them are still pretty unforgivable.

Vlad continually targeting Danny and his mother is not cured by calling it an obsession.

Skulker hunting him in revenge for saving an animal from him isn't really suddenly acceptable.

The multiple mind control ghost incidents, including Ember, aren't really suddenly acceptable. Ember and Dora both use mind control in a way that would have resulted in SA of a compromised party.

Walker looks even more like a power hungry bully.

Johnny 13 seduced Danny's sister under false pretenses, and tried to use her as a meatsuit for his girlfriend. If he had succeeded, he would have, at best, been a murder, and at worst, indirectly assaulted a helpless Jazz.

You have to heavily rewrite everyone's initial encounters to make the headcanon make sense.

Even then, if Danny isn't aware of the real reasons his human life is being ruined, he's perfectly justified in still hating every single one of them.

I think the clearest evidence of people lacking media literacy is when large numbers of people who clearly haven't read a series declare something about it to be inherently deplorable.

A few years ago, people said the Orcs from Tolkien's Middle-earth were racist and an allegory for black people and calling them inherently evil. Despite the actual story stating that Orcs were Elves that were corrupted by evil, meaning that they weren't a race of evil beings, but members of a race of 'good' beings that became victims of an evil ruler who converted them to his side to spread chaos and death that he couldn't alone. Not only that, but Middle-earth has actual black people. They just live in a different region than the main story. So the 'solution' of turning a bunch of elves and humans from the main region of the story black isn't 'fighting against racism', its ignoring world-building and the cultural aspect of the story.

More recently, people said the Demons in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End being all evil was racist and dehumanizing, declaring something as 'other' and that alone being enough to sentence them to death for. Despite the story giving two major examples of demons being given the chance to integrate into human society, one a grown and very smart demon and one a child demon, only for both to take that chance to kill people and cause more suffering, and the story both stating and showing that Demons are actually monsters, just monsters that were capable of human speech. Seriously, the fact that they disperse into that black ash-mist stuff showcases that they aren't actual animals like humans, elves, and so on, they are magical monsters like the dragons and wolf-monsters. So no, killing them without hesitation or remorse isn't 'promoting genocide' or 'hating other races', its literally defending civilization from its natural enemy. To say otherwise would be like saying a dear killing a wolf is the dear being evil and violent.

People tried and some continue to try to demonize-- pun intended-- the writers and enjoyers of these works because they include the trope of evil races, all the while being incapable of reading the actual damn story or understanding that being non-human is not the same thing as being of another culture/ethnicity.

You want to know an actual example of racism in a story? Jet from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Dude hated Fire Nation people so much that he declared all of them were evil despite any and all evidence that disputed that. You know what's not an example of racism? Sokka from the same series thinking that any Fire Nation that make their way to the isolated, resource-poor South Pole were there for militant reasons when the Fire Nation has literally never gone there for anything else. And if you can't figure out why those two things are so different, you lack media and contextual literacy.

Bang is Danny and Jazz's grandfather via Maddie being his illegitimate daughter. When it is discovered that the Number 3 S-Class hero has a 'vulnerable' family, dozens of monsters and criminals swarm Fentonworks in an effort to kill them to get at Silverfang. What they didn't expect was for Silverfang's daughter to be an expert in three different, if far less advanced than Silverfang's, martial arts, but for her to utalize high tech weapons in tandem with her fighting style, for his son-in-law to constantly carry heavy-duty weapons that could blast holes through entire buildings, for his grandaughter to have a suit of armor that literally pealed monster's like onions, and for his grandson to be able to freeze napalm fire with a wave of his hand.

Granted, Silverfang hadn't known that his newly discovered family was like that either, but he is not going to complain about it! Now if only he could convince some of them to join his dojo...

The first time Danny saw Terrible Tornado absolutely wreck a dozen high-level monsters that had just taken down more than twice as many heroes, his eyes dilated wider than a cat's and a single word echoed through his mind. 'MINE'.

Thus began his quest to become a hero powerful enough and telekinetically skilled enough to not only be seen as worthy in his fixation's captivating eyes, but to capture her heart.

As powerful as Phantom could be as a fighter, the Hero Association tended to prefer to have him work search and rescue. Not only because he can phase through solid matter and extend this ability to those he touches, thus bypassing the time and risk to move debris, but also because his duplication allows for him to remain in constant contact with up to a dozen 'instances' of himself at once even in places where communications are down.

Danny himself isn't a huge fan of this, not only because it meant he was often told to not take part in a lot of ongoing fights, many of which he was sure he could finish a lot faster and easier than the heroes who were fighting, but also because he was constantly surrounded by feelings of horror, sadness, pain, loss, and desperation. He wanted the thrill and highs of battle and victory! Not the somber numbness of civilian casualties and barely surviving.

WARNING! SPOILERS FOR SHOW-ONLY PEOPLE! WEBCOMIC/MANGA INFO FOUND WITHIN!

Amai Mask HATES the Rank 2 A-Class hero, Phantom. Everyone knows this, but no one other than the idol himself knows why. Even Phantom himself can't think of any reason why the Rank 1 A-Class hero would dislike him. They never really worked together, and Phantom had never been popular enough to truly rival Amai Mask for the Rank 1 spot. He, and the entire Hero Association, were at a loss.

As for the reason Amai hated his fellow hero? It was because like him, Phantom had a 'true form' he could slip into to enhance his powers. Unlike Amai Mask's true form however, Phantom's transformation didn't reveal an abomination, a hideous monster that would send people running in fear. No, Phantom had the gaul to have a true form that was beautiful. Hair of purest white, skin a shining yet somehow healthy pale, and eyes that glowed like emerald stars. A stark contrast to Amai's disfigured skin, ratty hair, bulging eye, and disproportionate frame.

Phantom had the form Amai had always wanted yet he spent most of his time hiding his beauty away to look 'normal', while Amai had to hide away his hideous face to look 'handsome'. To hide away such a visage as if it were shameful pissed Amai off beyond belief, and he would never forgive Phantom for making him feel such jealousy.

DP X OPM: Powerscaling Danny

Hey, as I'm sure those who have looked through my blog over the last week or so have noticed, I've been posting a fair amount of Danny Phantom crossover prompts with One Punch Man. And for those who enjoy them I would like to let you know I plan on posting more going forward.

However, before I do go about posting more, I want to get some feedback from those of you who know anything about Danny Phantom, One Punch Man, or both. Namely, I would like to know how you all would scale Danny in terms of Hero Classes.

I know that in DPxDC, we tend to make Danny a Superman or above level badass who can go toe-to-toe with literal gods, but given how the only actual 'God' in OPM is the Monster God, who we can't exactly have Danny take out without making the entire story of OPM come to a halt, I figured giving Danny a lower power ceiling would be better.

Currently, I've been writing my prompts with the mindset of Danny having Low S-Class or High A-Class raw stats, while his wide array of powers and hax grant him a solid, if potentially low-ranking, spot in the S-Class. But I know that If anyone believes he should be considered more or less powerful than that by default, please say so and either explain your stance, or just give a general power-range that you think a OPM Danny would be most interesting in.

DPxOPM Idea/Prompt 10

Zombieman has mastered the fighting style of ‘gun fu, double tap’. But to remain a master of his chosen combat style, he needs to keep on top of having the best firearms available to be fired by superhuman hands. This necessity brings the undying hero to the supernatural science research and development and weapon manufacturing company of Fentonworks, wanting to get his hands on their highly lauded ecto-guns… If only he could get them to understand that despite his name and powers, he wasn’t actually a zombie, and that zombies weren’t some kind of subclass of ghosts.
