this is my favorite art program. it’s *much* more intuitive than photoshop/gimp or corel paintshop, but it still has the full functionality of a digital art program (layers, brush stabilizer, etc.). it’s not overwhelming to start on like practically every other decent art program I’ve tried, you can just pick a brush and start drawing as if it were paper if you want. plus you can download extra brushes for free! and they publish free art tutorials pretty regularly

For those who don’t know, Meghan Murphy is a prominent radical feminist and the author of Feminist Current. Today, she was banned from Twitter for stating that men are not women. She has been temporarily suspended in the past, but this time it’s permanent. In addition, Twitter changed it’s rules to BAN misgendering and/or deadnaming. That means that something as simple as saying that transwomen are biologically male or using a female pronoun for a transman could get you banned and no platformed on Twitter. Twitter is silencing women. I will not stop speaking up. Fight to make your voice heard.

What is almost certainly happening with Tumblr’s image classifier is that they’ve deployed the bot entirely untrained, and are relying on user complaints to train it what NSFW content on tumblr looks like.

Making people participate in their own censorship in this way and punishing them with the threat of being silenced even if in compliance with the rules should they not participate, is, IMHO, abuse of their userbase.

Source: I’ve worked for three different top-five social networks, and at all of them this type of work would have been done by making the userbase do it as much as possible.

I keep thinking this is a stunt. Like, you're marked as explicit content already if you set your blog that way. If you clear your flagged stuff from your blog, that wouldn't take your blog off their list of "Explicit Content Blog" that just removes what they've told you to. If you start taking down your nsfw content it's judt doing the work FOR them. What if this is a scare tactic to make people remove themselves and clean up adult content and then staff comes in after and says "look at all the hard work we did"? 👀 Let them actually have to do something instead of remove your posts.
