It’s Fourth of July Eve so make sure to leave some milk and cookies out for Captain America
I THOUGHT AFTER FOUR YEARS YOU PEOPLE WOULD LET THIS DIE AND YET AGAIN I OPEN THIS CURSED APP TO FIND MORE NOTES ON THIS POST
Okay, I was just going to reblog this without commentary, but I can't keep this to myself. I'm a PhD student in environmental science and this is my fucking highway.
The first published study about climate change (that I am aware of-- feel free to point out if there's an older one) is an 1896 paper by Svante Arrhenius. He pointed out the link between the greenhouse effect and changes in atmospheric CO2.
Plate tectonics, which the geoscience community now recognizes as near indisputable, was a fringe theory until about the 1960s.
Just in case anyone thought that climate change was a "recent fad" in research.
Happy disability pride month to everyone with ptsd, happy disability pride month to everyone with complex ptsd, happy disability pride month to everyone who questions if their problems are big enough to count as a disability, happy disability pride month to anyone who questions if their problems count as a physical or mental disability, happy pride month to everyone who has a disability that causes people to stare, and to those whose disabilities are hidden, happy disability pride month to everyone who deals with any kind of disability physical or mental, you’re all badass and I want you to remember that this month okay
i dont WANT pride months to be over,

Reblog if you're black tumblr.
You don’t have to be black, it just means you support us, you stand by us and your for us.
BLM is still a thing. If you don’t reblog this, but would’ve in June/July you were only in support of black lives when it was a trend. They still need justice
everyone deserves equality <3
my blog will always be a safe space for everyone, especially black and queer people.
Times are scary right now, I’ll always be there for you
Reblog to hug prev poster (they need a hug)
If you’re a Non-Muslim and you see a Muslim praying in public, could you please not pass in front of them?
Go behind them, but not in front. 👍
Oh, signal boost! I didn’t know this.
Okay, but also: if you see a Muslim praying in public and they have something in front of them, like a purse or a bag or something like that, you can pass in front of them, but pass in front of that object.
it’s called a sutrah, and it’s meant to act as a physical barrier between the person praying and someone who might happen to pass in front.
Also, if you did this and didn’t know, please don’t beat yourself up over it. Now you know! Muslims aren’t supposed to pass in front of Muslims praying, either, because prayer is communication with God and you don’t want to break that connection.
Spread culture, respect customs, be good people. Simple as that.
Didn’t know this.
Reblogging again
THE AMOUNTS OF REBLOGS THIS HAS JUST MAKES ME SO HAPPY
S I G N A L B O O S T
Reblog forever !
Similarly, if a Jew is saying the Shemonah Esrei prayer (whispered, moving only the mouth, standing facing east with legs together) don’t go in front unless there’s a barrier.
Signal boost!
i feel so defensive and protective of people with ARFID like if i had a disorder that made my brain register 90% of food as poison for no reason and i had a bazillion people on the internet constantly calling me a manchild who needs to just grow up and stop being a picky eater i would start killing people
people with ARFID and people with very few autism safe foods and people with contamination OCD and people in ED recovery and everyone else with a complicated relationship with food that no one takes seriously GET BEHIND ME!!!!!!!
People with allergies that are “strange” or whose needs shift (ie I could eat this yesterday, but cannot today) and those whose dietary needs that other people don’t bother to understand: pull up squad
People with food sensitivities, diabetes, pre-diabetes, and/or GERD, I’m with you!
Don't ever hesitate. Reblog this. TUMBLR RULE. When you see it, REBLOG IT.

Please reblog this. I don’t care what your blog’s theme or aesthetic is. This is important.
This is important to reblog for yourself too, not just for others to see it. You never know when something could come up and if you need help it’s right there on your blog

my annual love letter to mexico
[ID: digital art of our lady of guadalupe and saint michael. la guadalupana holds her pregnant stomach, wearing a pink dress with a black belt. her hair is covered by a turquoise-and-gold mantle that has stars on it. she wears large earrings and her face is painted yellow in the style of mexica women. saint michael hovers over her, his wings acting as a protective shield. they shift colors from red, green, to white. his face is painted yellow-and-turquoise, and he wears a red ribbon in his chin-length hair and a jaguar skin around his neck. the words "God loves the immigrant" are overlaid over his wings and the bottom of the image. end ID]

If I was an artist I'd make an oil painting of a girl in a temple locker room stall putting on her white temple dress with her Heavenly Mother standing behind her helping her zip it up
It's not an oil painting, but I did a quick drawing this morning :)
"Love/sex is what makes us human" Wrong. It's the obsession with rectangles. look around you and count the number of rectangles you see.
#looked up and thought ‘that can’t be hard’#and then my eyes widened with horror as I realized the sheer number of rectangles everywhere#I’m . I’m horrified
It's a good shape!
There can’t be that many *looks to left* bookshelf. Oh no. Nonono. *Looks to right.* Bookshelf. The rectangles are coming for me.
