Today I was bullied into seeing Obsession in theaters for the second time and it’s really A Lot for me as someone who does not enjoy horror movies.

But truly the most disturbing part of the movie for me is how normal of a guy Bear is. We all know ppl like that. I bet half the viewers of this movie walked away sympathizing with him as the victim when he’s the villain.

The most destructive, cowardly, selfish people you know usually behave like everyone else. They think they’re good people, in fact. They truly believe that from the bottom of their hearts.

The Bears of the world hold positions of power in major corporations and government. They ingratiate themselves into your social circles. They’re in your orbit at work or school. And it feels like current society is enabling people like that to multiply like crazy, with zero introspection to realize they’re the problem. Terrifying.
