Not my usual sort of post but This is a must read for everyone who struggles with fitness mentally and physically. Even if you look great. @hannahchan921 thank you for this #Repost @hannahchan921 - ・・・ “As humans we’re more motivated to get out of pain than we are drawn to pleasure” 💕 I was actually on my news feed and saw this fitness page repost a picture of a girl with shredded abs, she looked great. I checked out her most recent post and the caption broke my heart. 💕 In the post she explained that humans are more motivated to act by getting out of pain, than they are by being drawn to pleasure. That’s something I totally agree with which has been shown in research. 💕 But in the next sentences, she used this principal to teach others that to lose fat, you had to condition yourself to associate all junk, sugary and “bad” food with guilt and pain in order to lose fat and form healthy habits. 💕 Guys and gals seriously. THIS is how eating disorders develop. By associating food with good vs evil, demonising food and punishing yourself. Ironically, conditioning yourself to abstain from certain foods by training yourself to punish yourself and feel guilty every time you “slipped up” is anything BUT healthy. I developed crazy disordered eating habits earlier on when I first got into fitness because I consumed too much factually incorrect content like this. 💕 Just because someone looks amazing it doesn’t mean they know what they’re talking about. I only wish someone told me and educated me the right way earlier on. Now I make it my mission to show other people they can enjoy their fav foods in moderation and still get the results they want. Without guilt. https://www.instagram.com/p/BpFOcQYgD-a/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=16t49qyo3g6jz
