moving out of my apartment update: last couple months have been very stressful and busy, and while ive had some legal consultations to ask and talk about the circumstances that would allow me to break my lease early im still in a bit of limbo with that; since the complex has gone through 4 management companies i was asked if i had contacted the newest company to ask them to come fix whats been broken in my unit since i moved in and the "renovations" the office manager 2 years ago just left unfinished all the way to my already rescheduled move in date and telling me to "just move in around it" ("it being power tools, broken wood from somewhere, pieces of drywall, etc.,) when i officially had nowhere to go or stay since it was the day of my actual move in until they made my apartment livable for me, and then i just got stuck with it like that while management actively blew me off, and actually broke in to my unit twice.

the general legal advice ive received thus far is that if i personally have not reached out to the new company about the 2 year old unfinished renovations then it is unlikely i will be able to break the lease early despite unlivable conditions unless i reach out to new management and see if they will do the repairs, and only if they dont after a certain point would i be able to leave. admittedly this confuses me because, presumably, the new companies would have been given or inherited all the previous companies digital and physical paperwork, tenant information, maintenance requests, and work orders but idk. for now at least, i am still stuck in this lease til november or at least until further notice.

good news is i have been given permission to stay with my parents when my lease ends, and an estimate for room repairs. ive been putting back any $$ i can into a savings/moving fund to cover supplies, general moving costs, and repairs. currently im about $900 short on room repairs after paying some consultation fees regarding terminating my lease. i will be hustling work and chores and odd jobs for the moving costs basically for the next few months to be financiallyprepared to vacate, however my primary source of income is disability payment of which mine is a federally capped $940 a month, while my rent at this current apartment averages around $1120 a month 2 years in, i already run myself ragged to keep the rent paid on time, and would really really appreciate anh and all help that could be spared as i try to get all this done. i have a guaranteed place to stay, all thats left in that regard is to pay for the drywall and wiring repairs
