This Slow Cooker Black Bread is a hearty and flavorful loaf made with a blend of flours, cocoa powder, and molasses. Perfect for enjoying with soups, stews, or on its own as a tasty snack.
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 cup whole wheat flour. 1 cup rye flour. 1/2 cup cocoa powder. 1 tablespoon instant coffee granules. 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder. 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda. 1 teaspoon salt. 1 1/2 cups buttermilk. 1/2 cup molasses. 1/4 cup honey. 1/4 cup vegetable oil. 1 egg. 1 cup dark chocolate chips.
Instructions: In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, rye flour, cocoa powder, instant coffee granules, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, molasses, honey, vegetable oil, and egg. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in dark chocolate chips. Grease the inside of a slow cooker and pour in the batter. Cover and cook on high for 2 to 3 hours, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Once cooked, remove the bread from the slow cooker and let it cool before slicing.
