Speaking of anime in cinema - too bad mha didn't have that here (I know about us, I don't live in us)

Like the only anime I was actually obsessed with and it's the one I couldn't watch on the big screen

At least I've got every volume, sure is better than nothing and it was a celebration in on itself

But still, 2nd movie even had LoV in it for a bit

But oh well it's not officially dubbed here like aot, kny and wha are, I think cm also had a cinema release, but eh, i was fine with reading it

Still grateful I finally get to go to cinema and watch something at all anyway

#Our town didn't have any cinema buildings used for that until I moved and I moved to place with no places for it #So I kind of grew up thinking up dates that a movie animated or not would show up on TV or be available to pirate #Wasn't a choice at all - just a reality #I remember finally trying to go with dad when I moved back for a while #Did a whole marathon to watch endgame when it just came out to get an experience #Same with httyd3 did I have to? Nah but it was fun #And also it was some time with dad so I liked a bit of peace before it would fall apart again #As it is I only go if I want to check off a long time wish kid me had or to watch some anime in dub #Aot one was to also tease my sis who was a fan at the time and I was just casually watching to see what people loved so much in 2010s #I wish I picked manga that was at least popular enough for this #Anyway I'm just walking and need to fill my head with something

Decided to go see wha in the cinema to let myself celebrate a bit (will be too busy later with graduation stuff) wild to think that it's finally out tbh

Kind of wish it was the full arc, went knowing there's no way it's the whole arc or anything, but it was cool anyway, I'll be too busy to catch those episodes live anyway

Opening and ending on the big screen look cool

Pulled up manga chapters to look at halfway through and wow anime really enhances the experience (duh) but in a sense of adding small things that are there in manga, but take a bit of time in the anime

Overall pacing is great either way, but again, I wish it was the whole arc, but ig it would've been too much or something, still great

#People being late wasn't great like you're watching two eps at least arrive on time #Also I don't think those eps were a good idea for a family watch but what do I know #I actually drew something simple while watching it was fun to challenge myself a bit #Bc the scenes were mostly dark so it was almost like drawing with eyes closed #Walking home now the weather is nice

Signs you might be getting addicted to something:

If you go without it you feel unwell in a way that you never usually feel unwell. Sweating, tired, sleepy, headaches, irritable, depressed, etc. For example when I was in opium withdrawal I got incredibly depressed in a way that I’ve never been before or since. When you quit caffeine you might get super bad headaches even if you never usually get any headaches.

Thoughts of it regularly bother you and the thoughts go away once you’ve taken it but only temporarily. Unlike with a food craving which usually stays away once you’ve satisfied it or distracted yourself from it.

You find yourself rationalizing with yourself why you should break your own rules about how much you can take and how often. For example you might only let yourself drink alcohol every four days but start thinking that three days is actually close enough to four days, right? Especially if this happens regularly.

You’re using it so often that you feel the need to lie about how much you use because other people might think it’s concerning

If the substance or activity is nearby it’s genuinely difficult to not consume it or participate in it in a way that’s really frustrating.

You feel bad when you’re not on it and your brain tells you “if you just take the thing you wouldn’t feel this way”

You can only feel “whole” or “normal” when you’re on a substance even though it’s a recreational drug

And if you read this and think you might be addicted to something, don’t panic and don’t feel ashamed. Realizing you’re addicted to something isn’t a failure. It’s more information about your health that you can use to manage your condition, whether you want to get rid of your addiction or not.

a good thing to note is that when you start to suspect addiction, if you're looking at the signs early, there is a possibility for you to regain control!

if you see any of the signs listed above, you are likely still in the window of "i should reign this in", and it is very likely that if you decide to do so in this moment, you will succeed.

most people in active addiction don't figure it out until they are deep enough into it that the psychological aspect becomes too powerful, especially because they don't know how to recognize these signs. if education were more well-rounded, a lot less people would end up stuck in addiction because you genuinely can take control if you realize you've gone too far early enough.

my basic tenet is, if i start showing signs of addiction, i quit for six months. no matter what it is. six months is enough time to get through the detox, it's enough time to start putting my head into the right space and look at the situation less objectively, and it's enough time to build a new ruleset if i decide to go back to using. this has worked for me multiple times, with several different substances.

however, if you find yourself in a cycle of doing this regularly, you're likely past the point of being able to regain control. nicotine has its grip in me because i let myself slip and stopped stopping when i saw it get unhealthy.

if you are struggling with an active addiction, and you can't muster the control to quit for 6 months, or on that 6 month day you go right back to it, and you don't want that life, you need to seek help. it has to be your choice, but you need to understand that if you do not want an active addiction, you have to take action and that does mean getting help from someone, whatever path works for you. there will come a point where you realize you can't do it alone, and that's the time to seek help. and there is nothing wrong with that. you're only human, and we can only handle so much on our own. you got this.

#It IS an experience worth coming to cinema for #Didn't watch the dub but it's usually good enough I don't worry about it #I just personally prefer sub and am glad you get to choose it on the streaming and stuff #Preference stuff tbh like I prefer ru translation ti en ones especially when I know it's more careful with details of the original #Not every translation ever is like what Toby Fox did for utdr with jp one #I WISH every book translated would have tons of translator notes like mha manga volumes had some occasionally!#Like my favorite version of Alice in Wonderland is like 80% notes 20% books themselves #Translator notes enhance the translation and text while author notes enhance the book itself #Which is why I enjoy buying manga volumes if I can like sure a good anime gives you fantastic action but I cherished every mha volume #Because you get couple of notes or sketches for every chapter which are perfectly optional but still feel special in a way #If only they were affordable #Still bought myself some wha volumes years ago simply because I wanted to read them like that as well #Same with tbhk and mha they're at the very least way more affordable than getting yourself hs book nowadays #It would be good to get myself a shelf before starting on collecting books #Anyway

on the lines of the recent discussion, i think it's really annoying how siffrin is assumed to have romantic feelings for isabeau by default, despite them literally saying "i don't know if i love you the same way you love me" at the end of the game. even though it could go either way all i ever see is "well siffrin reciprocates of course isn't it obvious". it's like the fandom cannot fathom isabeau's feelings being completely unreciprocated and it's become very boring and annoying

#I think it's a bit more complicated than that but then again some people might think so #They have some feelings sure so it's not completely empty or one-sided #What is important though is that Isabeau is actively trying to make it a thing and fails while Siffrin (pre-game as in Loop 0) is content #As it is instead of wanting to make anything out of it #Are they the same feelings Isabeau has? Not really they only start doing the quest if you're repeatedly trying to listen and stuff #Like how Siffrin doesn't pay too much mind to the fact that their nonchalance to death bothers Bonnie #Until they're looping that is when they can spend time focused on others instead of deflecting anything #That said even the artbook suggests Isabeau and Siffrin to not do it right after the game which is valid #When approaching the ship it's still important to remember that Isabeau doesn't really know Siffrin more than others do #But being unwilling to pay attention to himself Isabeau is already making it harder on Siffrin who's not that attentive #And with Siffrin being so avert from help is not going to make it easier on Isabeau either it's not a question of attraction at that point #Then again I have no idea what the recent discussion was I just see them being good friends caring for each other and go “aw”#Romantic platonic or whatever they have issues even as just friends they're just not showing at friends stage as badly #Not to mention that by the point of Act 6 Siffrin is at the very least aware of confession happening #And at worse bad touch has happened as well which doesn't help their chances #Again I do agree it's not as if Siffrin is attracted to Isabeau and I know ships usually assume so for both parties #And I do agree that Siffrin being polite doesn't meant they're actively interested and it's mutual especially not by Act 6 in any case #Still a bit harsh to say as if there's no way of it happening - nit immediately after Act 6 but that's relationships for you #I'm honestly glad that the ship overall isn't like.... Your standard ship it's complicated #Who says Isabeau is 100% in love and doesn't just adore Siffrin for crushes can be fleeting #Which is why it's supposed to take some time as they're both not in a shape to be aware of how they feel #At least not without masking their worries or playing along to make everyone happy #Which isn't a good starting ground for a relationship while better than just toxic one still not a great start #Shipping can idealize some things which is... Yeah a big bad problem with any ship and fandom #But if we're speaking of overall stuff in-game there is some ground for either interpretation #And at the end of the day it is for the fans to think of whatever possibility they want #Just how some might think Loop should not return or something - everyone is entitled for their opinion and interpretation #At the end of the day at least #Like... You don't go around saying HE WON'T SAY THAT to every person making characters do OOC stuff #It's the same thing here - sure not when a person says that it's like that “in the canon” but you can't fight EVERY opinion

It's fascinating (and infuriating) to live in an age where almost everyone I know is languishing in Dickensian poverty but social media is slap full of professional-managerial computer-touchers who've never known hunger insisting that the economy is fine because their metrics say rich people are still rich.

I remember when I was younger, anytime I watched a movie where the characters have to kill a scary monster/alien, I always thought the act of killing it was intended to be part of the horror. Like there’s this amazing creature that we’ve never seen before, and maybe under different circumstances we could’ve coexisted with it, but it’s trying to attack you and you have to defend yourself, but by destroying it you also destroy the ability to ever understand it and that’s sad and is supposed to make you feel conflicted.

It was not until well into my adulthood that I realized most people do not have complicated feelings about movies where people have to kill a scary alien monster, nor is that necessarily meant to be part of the narrative (unless it very obviously is). They just want the scary thing to die because it’s scary. I don’t have a real conclusion to this I just started thinking about it for some reason.

#same with other kinds of monsters like wow you really just thing this thing is only deserving to die because scary #like... that's all you really need in those movies oh no it's dangerousssss oh no scaryyyy #yeah because it was written that way and the moment a different writer does it somehow it doesn't matter because it's all fiction either wa #but the “scary so kill it” mentality is still there #too bad there are some real things that look scary like some specific bugs and yet those things just exist #not to make someone's life worse but just exist that's all
