What upset me the most in the whole discourse around Tamlin is how he's subjected to real-world standards in comparison with his actions.
The same is done towards Nesta, and all the characters they dislike, but to no other.
Not toward Feyre, nor Rhysand, nor any of the IC.
For them, trauma or it's a fantasy book is enough. Their reasons for their actions are enough.
But for the other ones? Nono, it's real world comparison they have to face. A utopian one, nonetheless.
Context doesn't matter anymore. The setting, their role in the narrative and story? Naaaaah, who cares? None of that matters anymore.
It's even more funny how the same people, who are pointing fingers at these characters or their fans (with heavy real implications) are then the ones who are acting like what they accuse them of.
About time we all acknowledge this. Any character that the IC has even the slightest hint of negative feeling about is immediately held to hypocritical sky rocketing standards.
